Good informative video Dan, I also used a similar set up to this last year when away with Dan and this method is 100% better than using H-Blocks or other permanant markers that get so easily tangled when playing fish.
Good video mate, think I might try making some of these up, I've only ever used basic conduit on silty lakes in France where I drive them into the lake bed, which I guess is not that efficient when I think about it!
I've done that my self before but once the fish goes round them they either get dragged out of position or don't sit correctly in the water, plus I quite enjoyed making them
As a tip buddy , I also have made some market poles almost the same way as you . You will find that any air trapped in any section under water will float much more than you think ! I had to drill small holes in all sections to take on water and only leave the last 2 foot section with trapped air in !
I made some these recently and found the top section popped off randomly in the water and therefore lost the marker pole. Will the holes help with this to equal pressure etc? I was fishing 3-4m
Hello, I've just watched your video of your marker pole set up, and I'm going to have a go making it as it's brilliant! Just a couple of questions, how did you fix the pole bungs to the bottom of the conduit? Also, after using them, have you found you needed to do any modifications? Did they work as planned? Did you need to drill fill / drain holes to the poles? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I love a little fishing project! It'll stop me going insane over Xmas! Thanks, Rich.
Scott Lloyd. You might be using the wrong description? I’ve had no problem locating some. One UK seller is ktsparts2015, who has loads of sizes inc 20mm. Just ordered some, 15 for £2.60👍
By coincidence, I made myself almost the exact same poles in the same way. I also use shrink tube to keep the pole smooth in the event it comes in contact with the line. Where mine is different, I used the screw threaded connectors to join the lengths together. I was worries the poles would pull apart while lowering or raising them with a lead weight attached if i used the push fit connectors. Be interesting to see how yours perform in that respect. I have used the fluorescent tape myself in the past and found it doesnt stay fluorescent for long, so I now use the reflective tape you used to use on your first design. Again I will be interested to know which you think works best? Like you I'm always in my shed making my own stuff. I get a real buz when I make something that leads to a fish on the bank! Good video, I enjoyed it and subscribed !

Hi, good info thanks for posting.
Could you send me the link to the correct pole bung please.
Mark

Hi Ross, why not leave both ends unsealed..let the water in?
Great stuff! Love this
Nice video buddy,i'm going to make some conduit markers as i'm losing fish on H blocks,do they have to be watertight? wouldn't they work open ended?
Brilliant video!
I'll definitely be making these. I love a little fishing project!
One question? How did you attach the pole bung to the conduit?

With 20oz leads do you ever find the sections come apart when lifting the marker around?
Can't seem to get hold of the cheap pole bungs anymore though - looked all over Ebay for them

Hi can you post a link to where to buy the bungs from?
