I was so excited one year when they bought me an advent calendar and invited my over for Christmas! I mean, I still turned out an Atheistic lesbian, but it was fun.

I have one for my dog, since my cat is picky, he doesn't get one. 🤣 My dog helps me open it, and whenever I reach for it, he gets so excited. 🥰 I used to have alot of them, when I was younger, and last year, me and my bf bought them just for fun, and then another three for the kids in his family, but they didn't want it since one kid has munchausen by proxy, and WaS AlLeRgIc, and the other two already had a few. So we had 5 calendars for ourselves. 🤣
Advent calendars are a thing where I live. Each year, there's an 'official' online one for my city that you can open every day throughout December. The prizes are vouchers you can claim from different businesses: discounted cinema tickets, 2 for 1 ice creams, drinks, tickets to the zoo, free dessert at a restaurant, % discount at a beauty salon...
When I was a young one (1995) advent was only a flat cardboard rectangle, with push windows 1-25 with a really mediocre chocolate and now I’m happy that they have all sorts of advents! I’ve got an office one coming this year!

Mmmm and the chocolate either tastes like plastic or cardboard xD I never had an advent calendar as a kid, but I've had them in young adulthood. I always liked making paper chains as a kid and ripping off a loop every day until the last loop, Christmas day
I'm much older and our advent calendars were doors you opened to reveal just a picture beneath. I actually preferred this to the chocolate soap ones. Every day was a little thrill. Of course they didn't cost ridiculous amounts of money either.

I noticed that, on several items on Amazon, the 4 star reviews are actually from people reviewing COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ITEMS! The reviews seem to be added randomly to raise the reviews of items that are really not good. Thankfully it appears Amazon will fix the issue as soon as they are aware of it. At least they did with an item I was looking at. So it is most likely the third parties that are falsifying stars.

So I tried to make stuff that was simple but would keep both of us occupied and happy for the whole day. Was awesome for the both of us
The only thing I will say in it's favor is that I'm impressed none of them shifted in the box or spilled or dried up. That seems to be a fairly common issue with slimes so a small kudos to them. Other than that though this seems like a total rip off.
I love how thoughtful you are-you never assume that people know what something is. You always make sure everyone is on the same page even if it takes a few extra minutes. I love this channel 😍
I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore you (and Sika). I feel like I'm watching a friend. I sit here and giggle with you and talk back to you as I watch. Thank you for all the joy and happiness you bring ❤
My mom made an advent calendar that she would hang on the livingroom door. Each day was a pocket, and she put three (later four) mini candy canes in each. Each of us children would get a cane a day... definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.
I come from California and Advent calendars are DEFINITELY a thing! I can’t live without advent calendars. The only downside is, My brother gets to keep all the toys or chocolates and I get to open the doors.
I live and grew up in Germany and we just love our advent calendars! They just go til the 24th December as it's Christmas day then evenrho we celebrate the 25th and 26th too!
I'm from Austria, advent calendars are very much a thing here. When I was a kid, we even made our own once in art class; with small pictures behind each door (or, in my case, window). My SO and I get them for ourselves to this day, and we're in our mid-30s. Also, I wonder what would happen if you added salt to slime. Like, those bigger rock salt crystals you can get in a mill sometimes? Would that change the slime? If not, it might be slightly more environmentally friendly than glitter.
You wouldve "loved" Zoella's advent calendar (which wasnt even a real advent calendar since it only had doors for 12 days.) If that tells you anything about how terrible it was
I grew up in Japan and it wasn’t until I was well into my adulthood that I really understood what advent calendars are. I even designed one (I’m a graphic designer) and was told by my boss that the numbers shouldn’t be in order. It really bothers me that the numbers are all out of order, and I still don’t understand why the numbers are in chaos. Also they are HELLA expensive.
Part of the "game" is to find the correct door each day. Would be too easy if they were in order. Back when i was a child you either got chocolates or just pictures and those kind are affordable. All the fancy calendars with food, crafts, beauty products etc are quite new and can be pricey yeah.
Nah, I disagree with your boss who said that searching for the next date is part of the game. I bought things like these for our daughter when she was little. I've never bought one that wasn't in order. I suppose they can be different but all the ones we've had used the same size compartments. They were actually laid out like a calendar and in proper order. Since it's called a calendar ( that matches the Christian season of Advent)
Jackie- "please be fluffy, please be fluffy, please." Advent calander- *giving more clear slime* *"MUAHAHAHAHA"* 😈 Me- *watching the struggle* "oh, no, hunnyyyyy!" 😟
This made me realize that I would totally buy an advent calendar that was just little containers of random inclusions. I love inclusions. I always say I’m going to use them in crafts, but instead I mostly just put them in my drawer of organized inclusions and admire them. I’m like a magpie, lol.
Tatiana K I’m always looking online for new clay inclusions and fine glitters. I just *love* them! I would lose my mind over a 24-day advent calendar of inclusions. Especially since it works for so many crafters! Resin, polymer clay, air dry clay, decoden, miniatures, slime, scrapbooking! Sofie & Toffee or Craft Kitsune or Miniature Sweets needs to get on this idea.
I was born and spent my first 15 years in Eastern Europe, advent calendars weren't really a thing where I come from. But then I moved to the UK and was really surprised about this tradition and found it really fun! I really enjoy buying them around Christmas, either just the traditional chocolate ones or fancier ones with different gifts.

This comment was to spread kindness and awareness of her hard work not to make anyone feel bad so please don't take any mean type of words, again this is just to spread awareness and kindness]
I feel like this would have been a lot more fun if this was just like a general “winter” or Christmas one. With like whites, blues, clear, green and red. And then with glitters, snowflakes, stars, those little balls as ornaments, etc etc that were all wintery and christmassy. The colours and inclusions just felt really random. I mean either way it wasn’t what was advertised but I almost could have given it a pass if it was more festive. This could have been so good with literally no extra effort, just better choices⭐️🎄🌲❄️☃️🎁✨
From the southern U.S. and I have heard of advent calendars but they aren't a huge deal here. I really appreciate all the recs you give, I had no idea after crafting for my whole life there was environmentally safe glitter. And the journal is on my xmas list for the honey.
So just so this is clear, you asked “will it be the fluffy slime or will it break my heart? I think it will break your heart. Nooooooo when she first opened it it looked fluffy
A bit of trivia: Advent is actually tied to the Christian church. It is the period of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas. I've heard of specifically Catholics that will not put their Xmas tree up until the end of Advent (typically Xmas Eve). This year, Advent begins on 28 Nov (and ends on 24 Dec).
Pre-dating most of today's Christian holidays, early pagan practices are actually at the root of many of today's Christian traditions, including the season of Advent. Long before the time of Christ, pagan communities, worldwide, set aside the weeks before the Winter Solstice as a time to honor the coming of the light.
In Germany we have a "adventskranz" ( its a cicle with fir or simular and decoration with 4 candles on it) 4 sondays before christmas we light a candle. In our family we made sometimes a family happening out of it, we came together, one of us were aloud to light the candle (only on christmas) and my mom read a christmas story for us or a poem.
I love advent calendars. As a child it was just a picture behind the tab but now I have a chocolate one every year. This year I’ve bought my wife a coffee one. She is a bit of a Scrooge with Christmas but this year I am pulling out all the stops to get her into the Christmas spirit 😈
Jackie: " I know it's too early for christmas stuff" Me: *laughs in filipino* "oh jackie we already decked out our house with christmas decor since september 1" 😂😂😂
I bought a knock-off Sailor Moon advent calendar last year, and it was hilarious! Anyone else would probably have been disappointed, but for some reason I love adding bizarre little knock offs to my Sailor Moon collection. The only problem is there were too many duplicates, but I gave the extras to my nieces, so it worked out. P.S. I’m from the US, but I’m fine with Christmas and Thanksgiving overlapping. 😊
I live and i was born in italy , and advent calendars are really popular here , mostly ones that are filled up with chocolates or candy. But my family is from Macedonia, and there aren't advent callendars there . But instead there are some type of packs or gift looking type of boxes , and they're filled with snacks, chocolate, toys and other stuff like that. You're supposed to open them on the dayof Christmas. It's really fun!! I enjoy eating the snacks hehehe
Children tend to be generous in reviews. I have seen many younger people agonize that they are going to hurt the people who are creating kits and products if they are too aggressive with their reviews. Its actually quite sweet and empathetic. They seem genuinely concerned that they are going to hurt feelings or put a stop to a creative process
Every year my son & daughter have Lego & makeup Advent calendars, although they are pricey...they also know it will count as one of their gifts for Christmas. My Pooch also has a treat calendar.😂
Would've been awesome if it had different kinds of slime, too! The variety of inserts were cute, even if the glitter was not environmentally friendly. I always enjoy you trying out various kits and advent calendars! Happy Holidays!
I live in germany and everyone loves their advent calender! My parents got me a sock one this and last year. Also a regular at work sends every one of us an advent calender each year :) I‘m an adult and I still get all happy when I can open a door hahahaha
Yep, from Germany too and I can absolutely second that Advent calendars are a big thing here. I used to always get at least 2 or 3 for my birthday, that is mid-november xD and at December 1st there would always just be an advent calendar for me and my dad that appeared out of nowhere. It had 48 little packages hanging on it, 24 with red string, 24 with green string, so we knew who got which set of packages. Two times my dad and I also made a huge 2x1m one for my mom's birthday (hers is at the end of November) with vouchers for shops she likes, sweets, and selfmade vouchers. I remember that in the first one my dad even included one for a new wedding ring, because the original ring got lost
@@tezzanoia That‘s so cute! I also used to get 2 or 3 advent calenders too from my whole family ^-^ It‘s so cute he got her a new wedding ring and that your family makes their own advent calenders. I think I might steal that idea and make one for my parents and grandma as well. I love sharing stories like that and christmas is always such a nice time in the year
@@Sasa-jx6uz have fun making your own calendars then and I hope your loved ones will love them, just as much as my family does! Even tho I gotta say I'm generally not even that much of a Christmas fan, but just these tiny gestures of making small things even in the time before.. That's really nice. But my absolute favorite about Christmas is selling trees. We do it as a family business for about double as long as I'm even on this planet, so I've done it all my life. Having all these sweet people come by, have a talk and search for their perfect tree is just a lot of fun
@@tezzanoia Thank you :) Yeah the tiny gestures and general all the nice people you meet while doing christmas shopping, tree shopping etc., that‘s why I like christmas. And the fact I get to spend a few days with family :) The christmas tree selling sounds so nice! Makes me want to go search for a tree even tho it‘s just november xD And I totally get it, it sounds like a great experience and it‘s nice you were able to experience it since you were born :3
@@Sasa-jx6uz absolutely! And yes, it absolutely is! My favorite part must be that there's people who are coming to us in the 2nd/3rd generation now. There's a family that came to us when my parents and grandpa first started it. Their children are obviously adults now with their own families and both living a 45 min and a 1h drive away, but they still get their trees from us every year with the whole family
Small me with OCD would have waited till the end, wouldn't mix anything and then spend hours deciding which slime goes with which inclusion. The price though.. overpriced for too much plastic and not environmental friendly inclusions. :/ This year I have an advent calender with different kinds of tea. Looking forward to it :)
Denmark here, and we definitely have advent calendars! We also have tv-advent-calenders where you get a new chapter of a christmas story for every day until Christmas. I don't feel like that's as common in the world?
I've never had an advent calendar before. They are a fairly new thing in South Africa. I'd really like to get one though, then I just have to control myself so I don't open them all at once.
Growing up my grandma would always get me and my siblings those chocolate advent calenders. Those calenders were always one part of the magic of Christmas for me. My younger sister bought a pet one for my dog. I can't wait to do it with her.
These slimes remind me of the horrible keyboard cleaning slime I tried to use yesterday. Needless to say, I ended up putting that keyboard into the dishwasher. It worked wonders. 😁
In Germany we do have Advent Calendars and if I can, I still get one every year :D I do like the small containers that the clay inserts come in, they're cute and reusable! However, it's a bit of false advertisement with the Fluffy. Seems to be decent quality, though
I'm from Spain, and yeah, we have advent calendars. Ours usually come with tiny pieces of chocolate. In fact, I already have mine ready to start December.
Our advent calanders always had little pictures in them, every day we'd guess what the image was going to be and at the end of the 24 days see how many we got right, the winner got chocolates or something 😂

I had nothing very productive to do so I decided to do something to make us spend time together. So I tried to make stuff that was simple but would keep both of us occupied and happy for the whole day. Was awesome for the both of us
@@wrongturnVfor that's such a sweet idea!
@@tezzanoia Thank you
That’s the most wholesome thing ever!
Even though this was 3 years ago, I fully enjoyed this! ❤
Jacket you are so funny my mouth hurts but you are able to make me giggle any way
I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore you (and Sika).
Each of us children would get a cane a day... definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.
nice 👍 😊
nice 👍 😊
I come from California and Advent calendars are DEFINITELY a thing! I can’t live without advent calendars. The only downside is, My brother gets to keep all the toys or chocolates and I get to open the doors.
The last few years, i really enjoyed the DavidsTea one. A new tea everyday is really conforting to me.
I live and grew up in Germany and we just love our advent calendars! They just go til the 24th December as it's Christmas day then evenrho we celebrate the 25th and 26th too!
Is anyone else here in 2024 ???
Yep
Hiii
Meeeeeeeee
Not mee
Yes and everyone is watching TH-cam
Germany, yes we all love advent calendar. I can not find the right one for me. Every year I craft a calendar for my boyfriend with lego in it.
There's a biodegradable glitter made out of seaweed!
I'm assuming adding salt would dry the heck out your hands lol.
I just imagine the child being like "yay femo slices"
You wouldve "loved" Zoella's advent calendar (which wasnt even a real advent calendar since it only had doors for 12 days.) If that tells you anything about how terrible it was
There 2 types. 24 day one for before Christmas and a 12 day one for after Christmas . They are two separate things
Also they are HELLA expensive.
your boss is weird!
Part of the "game" is to find the correct door each day. Would be too easy if they were in order. Back when i was a child you either got chocolates or just pictures and those kind are affordable. All the fancy calendars with food, crafts, beauty products etc are quite new and can be pricey yeah.
@@AbusiveExclusive Oh, I see! Thank you for the explanation :)
25 percent of me is like you shouldn't spend your money but 75 percent of me is like I LOVE TO SEE YOU SUFFER! Sorry Jackie
Jackie- "please be fluffy, please be fluffy, please."
Advent calander- *giving more clear slime* *"MUAHAHAHAHA"* 😈
Me- *watching the struggle* "oh, no, hunnyyyyy!" 😟
This made me realize that I would totally buy an advent calendar that was just little containers of random inclusions.
I love inclusions. I always say I’m going to use them in crafts, but instead I mostly just put them in my drawer of organized inclusions and admire them.
I’m like a magpie, lol.
Same here! Had to buy a new drawer organizer because I have so many. But they’re so shiny and pretty. 😅😂
Oh yep, you speak the secret desires of my heart ..... my inner niffler heart that is. 😁
The fruit fly just wanna play with the slime! 😂😂😂
I'm from Sweden and it's really normal to have an advent calendar. But we only get 24 suprises because we celebrate on the 24th not on the 25th...
Same here in Germany.
Jackie: and we are at number 13...
My genuinereaction: it's piss!
Her “ warning headphone users loud smoosh.”
Me “ turns up volume.”
I'm from Brazil and I've never seen an advent calendar! It seems like a fun gift. Maybe I'll create a crafty one for my brothers ☺️
I feel like all we do is comment and say all our opinions and feelings about the videos but dose anyone ever notice how much effort Jackie dose for us grains to make videos, get enough money to buy all these things so we don't send ours, keep up with the days to make different videos and just I feel like most people don't focus on that and they just watch these videos to watch them and to not appreciate the effort and hard work youtubers put in there videos that just people don't notice so this comment came to this video with kindness to appreciate Jackie and all the other youtubers that put hard work and effort in there vids, also Jackie keep up your hard work i love all your content and love watching your videos for fun and I love that you spend so us grains only have to watch your vids to understand what is fake and what is real so I really appreciate your hard work and effort you put in these videos for us even tho I keep saying the same things over and over again I still appreciate it 😅🥰😁 Thanks for all the vids you make every day! ❤💕💓💖💝😁😁😊
[Also!
I come from Davenport and my favorite. You’re my favorite TH-camr. I only watch you every day bye-bye.
We need a salt calendar, there are so many different 🧂 salts out there.
So just so this is clear, you asked “will it be the fluffy slime or will it break my heart? I think it will break your heart.
Nooooooo when she first opened it it looked fluffy
It's a tragedy that Jackie didn't mix all the slime together at the end
So true
Its not bc you then you waste slime
As someone who was raised Catholic in Canada, we had advent candles at school that they lit day by day. That was back in the 70's though...
Were I live its celebrated by eating like vegans for three weeks. 🤢
@@talyn7448 oh my...that sounds...painful. 😬
Bro when you put the microphone in the slime it made me feel amazing
The one “pink” was actually a yellow one that turned pink from the glitter, so it’s just 5 pinks 🙈
No it didn't
I love advent calendars. As a child it was just a picture behind the tab but now I have a chocolate one every year. This year I’ve bought my wife a coffee one. She is a bit of a Scrooge with Christmas but this year I am pulling out all the stops to get her into the Christmas spirit 😈
Love the sculpting scoop tool 😂
Jackie: " I know it's too early for christmas stuff"
Me: *laughs in filipino* "oh jackie we already decked out our house with christmas decor since september 1"

Yaaa, christmas countdown on the Philippines starts on The very first day of Ber Months🤣
Ah yes, a pinay companion
*As a resin maker with a glitter hoarding problem: watches as Jackie pours the entire glitter into slime.* Noooooooo.... Not all of it!

I also used to get 2 or 3 advent calenders too from my whole family ^-^
It‘s so cute he got her a new wedding ring and that your family makes their own advent calenders.
@@tezzanoia Thank you :)
Yeah the tiny gestures and general all the nice people you meet while doing christmas shopping, tree shopping etc., that‘s why I like christmas. And the fact I get to spend a few days with family :)
The christmas tree selling sounds so nice!
This year I have an advent calender with different kinds of tea. Looking forward to it :)
I love you girl you don’t need to worry
Denmark here, and we definitely have advent calendars! We also have tv-advent-calenders where you get a new chapter of a christmas story for every day until Christmas. I don't feel like that's as common in the world?

In Germany we do have Advent Calendars and if I can, I still get one every year :D
I do like the small containers that the clay inserts come in, they're cute and reusable! However, it's a bit of false advertisement with the Fluffy. Seems to be decent quality, though
