A welcome taste of real summer weather watching from a very chilly, wet and windy cornwall!!! Beautiful footage as always... loving seeing the likes and views numbers rising for you- definitely worthy of much higher numbers in my opinion xx
A Bourbon, a Tim Tam, a good old Digestive biscuit? No, no, no! Nicola has the right idea - 'When in Greece, eat a Greek biscuit, not an UK or Australian one ". 😊
Here is a list of the generally coolest and hottest seaside areas in Greece. Avoid the hottest ones when a heatwave is expected. Coolest: The Aegean islands apart from the easternmost Dodecanese islands and the south of Crete. Hottest (in no particular order): 1. Easternmost Dodecanese islands 2. the south of Crete 3. Southeast and East Peloponnese up to Nafplion town 4. the mainland coast north of the Gulf of Corinth, 5. the west of Evia island north of Chalkis and the respective mainland coast opposite that, 6. the coast of the Saronic gulf (gulf of Athens) both on the mainland and on the Peloponnese.
Thanks so much for taking the time to send us this .. we have managed to find a shelter /shady campsite by the coast and are hunkering down waiting for the warmest weather to pass … I think tonight and tomorrow day / night will be the hottest so far .. so we are glad to have the shade / ocean / a slight breeze … again thanks so much for the information … much appreciated ..
Hey great vid. Musical interludes need to be turned down from 10 to 5 imho. I love the Peloponnese. I hitch hiked it in 1989 when I first came here. It has tons of great archeology. You'll find these places. I traveled there once in May when the citrus trees were in bloom and the whole peninsula had this incredible citrusy aroma. One place you might want to visit is the Kardamyli home once owned by author Patrick Leigh Fermor on the peninsula's west coast. Fermor was considered the UK's greatest travel writer and participated in the Resistance against the Nazis in Crete. The man had this incredible life, and wrote a number of masterpieces on Greece. The home's a writer's retreat now, I think, and was the setting for the film Before Midnight. Crappy movie, but nice photography.
Thanks for your feedback … yes getting the music volume can be difficult sometimes as we all have different hearing. (Nigel is a bit deaf .. or so he tells me) Wow .. hitching in 1989 .. must have felt like a whole different world .. no Google maps then :) Thanks for the heads up .. added to our growing list of travel pins :) A return is certainly on the cards :)
That is one of the hottest seaside places in Greece. Bad timing. Classic early Spring / late Fall destination, this and all of the surrounding area of SE Peloponnese.
Yes .. but even locals are saying it’s unseasonably warmer this year … thankfully we are finding plenty of shade and of course the sea is never too far away :)
@@TheTravellersCookeBook Indeed but this doesn't change the fact that this is one of the hottest seaside areas in Greece. Pls. check my other comment here about the coolest seaside places and the hottest ones which should be avoided during a heatwave.
@@TheTravellersCookeBook yeah it's not normal at all for this time of year. We've barely even had a winter and now heatwave after heatwave in June??? Nope. Just depending on the region it's worse or better temperature wise I mean. Cities will be boiling hot either way unfortunately 😕

‘The biggest bang I’ve ever heard’ says the man from Northern Ireland. It really must have been loud.

And we'll have another heatwave this week guys! Please stay safe.
Yes it looks like it’s going to get quite hot indeed … speaking to locals not normal for this location at this time of year ….

Anyone going to the mediterranean at this time of the year is crazy. Micheal Mossley died of heat stroke.
