I have a small theory: The cameraman who was in the basement of scientist toilet did not kill the scientist's wife and daughter the astro toilet was the one who killed them and the cameraman tried to save them but the astro was to strong for a ordinary cameraman and after the astro killed them he escaped and hid himself in the trees and the cameraman just stood their watching the dead bodies that's why there was no blood stains on the cameraman and when the scientist came back and saw the dead bodies he taught the cameraman killed them.
What if it was the astro who killed the mother and daughter and the cameraman was trying to help the mother, a daughter, but he couldn't and just stood there.
