Turns out the best way to make the safest Minecraft base is to just hide it really well. The funny part is that people seem to be forgetting that you can skip the entire thing with a well placed ender pearl. But in the sense of making it entertaining, you succeeded . It looks epic.
You see, what you do is you build this elaborate thing, then walk 300 blocks away and hide your belongings in a chest located under 2 blocks of lava. They will never find it because they are to busy looking for it at your overly protected base.
Your biggest problem with the whole base...was that it was hollow, and u could just ender portal through the entire thing. So you could just go through the bottom and build up and reach the jackpot.
Yeah fr but I cant even believe ppl are saying “the lightning will kill u” or other crap when using a elytra like guys IT DOES 5 FIRE DMG 5 FIRE DMG. ITS NOT A LOT and im pretty sure the lightning ONLY damages the ground
If you think about it, a minecraft bucket contains a cubic meter of liquid. Now, that means when you take a bucket of milk from a cow, you are extracting a cubic meter, or 264 gallons of milk from that poor cow. With 20 chests of 27 slots each, that's 142,652 gallons of milk. From that one cow. In under (probably) 2 minutes. No wonder that poor cow's traumatized.
The glaring problem with each of these traps is that they work only when a player goes through them. Anyone sane would dig, bridge or fly (the one exception made here). Layers also damage each other.
While the surface appears quite safe, I fear that it may be at risk of underground tunnelling to pass the defences. If you were to use TNT to get through the mining fatigue after digging straight up from the estimated coordinates of the base, you could get straight through. A great piece of work, but perhaps needing an update.
2 things, 1 add tall walls between each layer preferably using a material difficult to break like obsidian and glass to see the obstacle, but make sure it can't be bypassed with laying down with trap door or breaking it. Hopefully that will prevent someone bypassing it by just using ender pearls. Also add a roof to each of them to keep someone from using an elytra to fly over it.
I wanted to do a tower defense style base ever since minecraft first came out. You took it to a whole other level - fantastic work, man. Great dedication and effort to editing your video, too: probably one of the best minecraft videos I've ever seen - I'd love to see you backup your world and fight off a horde of players with this base.
In reality, the best defence is just being sneaky. No base is safe if the intruder is already aware there are traps. Hide the base, somewhere random, put a convincing decoy nearby, and add just a couple hidden traps that come out of nowhere. Done.

That's true but this is a video game, it makes way more sense visually to the average person for blue fire to cause blue flames upon contact. Plus standing on soul sand would expose you to the same compounds that made the fire burn blue in the first place
You should segment the sand trap into multiple sections with different levers. It will prevent you from having to reset the entire trap every time, but instead only sections you activate.
Isn't that impossible? The sand will trigger a chain reaction anyway, and making separations out of non-falling blocks will just create bridges to walk safely across.

Ah yes the safest base! If they can't mine, build, use ender pearls(or chorus fruit), use elytras, create nether portals, see, and if they follow the script.
This is a great example of the lockmaker's conundrum: a lock is only as strong as the weakest link. In this case, it's the dripstone canyon. Not only does it do rather pitiful damage, it actually provides a lot of cover for anyone breaking in. Then, all that stands between them and the inner workings of your traps is a single wall of cobblestone. Even with mining fatigue, it would be trivial to break the two blocks needed and gain immediate access.
There are multiple different ways to get in. Dig, use a ender pearl, use an elytra with a firework, sprint through it, just to name a few. But overall good job you officially tricked the people who are too scared to even come out of there house after they build it.
Some suggestion for it to be an actual Safest base : 1.) Surround the underlying mechanisms with obsedians 2.) Make a lava pool sort of liie wall just below the area so no one tries to dif straight from below 3.) Put monument elder guardians in some water boxes around the perimeter near ground and inside ground too to to cause the players to have mining fatigue 🎉🎉🎉 I think it will be a more better guarding place 4.) I don't know whether it will work but let some wardians and dangerous mobs get loose around the place or basically where you had worked down below in the ground and around the place 😂😂 , i don't think its effective but i hope they won't fight each other instead 5.) Also compromising some functionalities , surround the while thing and gaps between the defenses with glass for protection from ender pearls and elytra 6.) Also people can still break in using those tnt blast machines on a server if you didn't notice them making one quickly and then they could destroy the defenses and barge in , even carrying fire charge or derstructive stuff will be helpful

While the Orbital Strike Cannon from cubicmetre would've been a better defense than the entire base combined, you made a SICK looking base and that's the part that's important at the end of the day.
The color of a flame depends on what is burning, and flames aren't a material that grows. Sodium crystals burn green flames, for example. If you were to light a match using the green sodium flame, the match's flame would still be orange and yellow, because that's how the chemicals on a match burn. That is the scientific explanation as to why your character model always burns orange, despite being set ablaze by the blue flames on soul sand or soul soil.

In my opinion it's a little bit of a missed opportunity to have a potion trap zone but don't have any lingering potions. I know those would take a lot more effort, but imagine instant damage zone covering entire ground on at least 1 ring
Well you would have to fight the ender dragons for a while, so 10 hoppers in one zone, lets says their 15 zones with 9 potions each, thats 1350 bottle's of dragon breathes, idk if thats possible in vannila.
It seems this “impenetrable” base can be easily defeated by an elytra, an example would be at 42:49 where he flys in completely unharmed and there also has to be someone to man the tnt cannons so if he was out mining or something there goes half the defenses

I'm sure optimizing is out of the question, and I have little experience with minecraft to suggest anything, but is it possible to add air and tunneling defenses? Having a three tiered defense system would really be formidable. It's a shame the blocks used are so prone to breaking from explosions.
shulcers and obsidian in the mining fatigue area would stop air and tunneling attacks or cobblestonegenerater walls. But the whole base could be dismantlet by a few TNT Cannons
I mean if you ignore the fact that a good ender pearl throw or an elytra bypasses everything. As well as the fact that you need to manually reset most of it. And that one entire layer only works during a very specific weather condition. It is a really cool idea. As a minigame/challange that could be auto reset with limited equipment where 1 person has to defend against a large group of players. It would be fun to try and beat.

Honestly, I am not sure it’s scripted. Given the person didn’t just stupidly step on the Pressure Plates, I don’t think it was. Except maybe the part about Powdered Snow.

The ender pearl still can’t go that far so the blazes will give them a bit of trouble along with the lightning wall and sand trap it could be very painful.

2:08 think about this. it's blue when it's burning soulsand, and when it spreads onto you and your clothing, it's not on soulsand anymore, so it becomes orange. also, it's orange, not red.
A big problem is that several of the traps need to be recharged, like the sand trap and the firework trap. If someone wants a truly safe base, you’ll need an automatic potion/firework/sand/etc farm, and even then you’ll still need to restock things like the sand trap.

Yeah it's flashy and all, but you can just fly with an elytra or use enderpearls, normal secure bases (AKA, prisons) are way more complex and even the most secure one can be breached with a simple wither bore or an end exploit.

Ender pearl, or spending 15min building a huge one block walkway over the entire defense structure and using a bucket of water to cushion the fall to the interior. Digging under is a option as well* if done on a server, like with factions mod, then it would depend on the ground rules to protect from underground and aerial exploitation.

While the Orbital Strike Cannon from cubicmetre would've been a better defense than the entire base combined, you made a SICK looking base and that's the part that's important at the end of the day.

In my opinion it's a little bit of a missed opportunity to have a potion trap zone but don't have any lingering potions.
I know those would take a lot more effort, but imagine instant damage zone covering entire ground on at least 1 ring
Well you would have to fight the ender dragons for a while, so 10 hoppers in one zone, lets says their 15 zones with 9 potions each, thats 1350 bottle's of dragon breathes, idk if thats possible in vannila.
lingering potions would be less effective because you can just build up by one block and wont get damaged

The most insane defense must be him lagging the server with his contraptions as they are activated
It seems this “impenetrable” base can be easily defeated by an elytra, an example would be at 42:49 where he flys in completely unharmed and there also has to be someone to man the tnt cannons so if he was out mining or something there goes half the defenses
You could also dig a tunnel under the base if you wanna follow the "rules"

I'm sure optimizing is out of the question, and I have little experience with minecraft to suggest anything, but is it possible to add air and tunneling defenses?
Having a three tiered defense system would really be formidable. It's a shame the blocks used are so prone to breaking from explosions.
shulcers and obsidian in the mining fatigue area would stop air and tunneling attacks or cobblestonegenerater walls.
But the whole base could be dismantlet by a few TNT Cannons

I mean if you ignore the fact that a good ender pearl throw or an elytra bypasses everything. As well as the fact that you need to manually reset most of it. And that one entire layer only works during a very specific weather condition. It is a really cool idea.
As a minigame/challange that could be auto reset with limited equipment where 1 person has to defend against a large group of players. It would be fun to try and beat.

The ender pearl still can’t go that far so the blazes will give them a bit of trouble along with the lightning wall and sand trap it could be very painful.
Honestly adding water over the magma would both prevent jumping and keeping them from trying to buildup to prevent crystal damage

A big problem is that several of the traps need to be recharged, like the sand trap and the firework trap. If someone wants a truly safe base, you’ll need an automatic potion/firework/sand/etc farm, and even then you’ll still need to restock things like the sand trap.

Yeah it's flashy and all, but you can just fly with an elytra or use enderpearls, normal secure bases (AKA, prisons) are way more complex and even the most secure one can be breached with a simple wither bore or an end exploit.

Ender pearl, or spending 15min building a huge one block walkway over the entire defense structure and using a bucket of water to cushion the fall to the interior. Digging under is a option as well* if done on a server, like with factions mod, then it would depend on the ground rules to protect from underground and aerial exploitation.
This is crazy. I also think it would be cool to make a super practical version, with all the weapons still.
