OMG I have the Arrma Raider XL. I purchased this buggy because of price and the technology that this buggy was built with. After watching this video my next large scale RC would be this beast. Geezzz let's start with the servo, the module, the body mounts! Hmmmm let me predict the 'future' ...... an RC car/truck you can leave outside in the sun and the batteries will recharge via a plug in solar panel ! Ohhh wait a minute....... aren't some golf carts out there nowadays that can do this ???? !!!!! GO Arrma.
A bit under geared stock but on 23t pinion this thing fly like crazy no over heating. Needs brace upgrades hopefully it fixes the chassi weakness issue
It's definitely not 1/5 scale. Based on the 6s version, this 8s is just under 1/6. Not sure why Arrma felt the need to label it bigger than it really is.
Chris Watson This vehicle is 1/5 the scale of what? If the losi is 1/5 the scale of a stadium/trophy truck then this must be 1/5 the scale of a tiny truck
@@cwatson42785 It's not 1/5 at all. That's a mistake or a lie. The math specifically says it's just under 1/6 scale. Just look at a Primal MT if you want to see a 5th scale.
as i do my home work on the kraton 8s as i do all my rcs before i buy , i watched a vid from aussie rc playground and he was saying that it was well under powered and the chassis bent very easily on small jumps .. has arrma resolved these issues yet ? i mean if i gotta buy a m2 chassis and stronger eletrics ... should i wait for the next model to come out ...... i really want to purchase this rc but.......idk jus yet

No, but it can do 55MPH after changing the pinion gear. Arrma says: "The KRATON 8S BLX 4WD is capable of 55+ MPH speeds in optimum driving conditions using an 8S LiPo (2 x 4S LiPo batteries) and optional pinion gear (available separately)." Hope this helps. -Brett

So how is something that's 1/5 scale, costs less than some other 1/5 scale rcs, has about $500 of just wheels/tires, electronics and mounting hardware in it overpriced at $899 on day 1? Expensive ≠ overpriced.
ARRMA has always surpassed the competition on everything. That is what makes the brand currently a top seller in all 3 of the LHS I do business with. That said, not one will stock this thing; I ain't the only one who thinks its overpriced for what it is, LOL!

Look you can call it whatever you want, but by definition if it's the same price or cheaper than other options of the same class it's not overpriced. And it's definitely not unbecoming, it's one of the nicest rtrs I've ever seen. $200 esc,. $120 motor, $160 wheels, $80 radio system, ~$40 in hardware and bearings. Arrma is charging somewhere around $300 - 400 for the rest of the truck that they're actually responsible for. That's a good price. Hope you get to try one out some time. (Just make sure punch is maxed, especially if it's on stock pinion as it's undergeared)
Nah...XXMAX is old news. My LHSs will order K8s if someone wants to buy one, they just won't stock it. I'm in SoCal, HH warehouse is in the same region so getting one 1 to 2 days isn't an issue. As for running one, I would definitely enjoy bashing one.
