DigiByte anticipated the scalability issues that would plague Bitcoin adoption, so DGB designed it's blockchain to handle Visa/Mastercard levels of volume, all while keeping transactions on the blockchain. The problem with the Lightning Network is that it is an off-chain (meaning outside the blockchain) "solution". This is no solution at all, for if off-chain solutions are okay, we might as well stick with Visa/Mastercard because they're already digital and lightning quick. Also, LN risks centralization because it'll have centralized hubs. If you believe in the true spirit of crypto, you should reconsider the merits of Lightning Network. BTC is awesome, but I think it's gonna act more as a very lucrative store of value (gold). When it comes to day-to-day quick retail transactions, DigiByte will dominate.
If that is true then my prediction of dgb having a higher market cap than btc,ltc and bch combined.
The proof being the usd. Usd has a higher market cap than gold and silver combined because it's used everyday everywhere. One day it might be digibyte
LN is just a middleman, its no solution, its a problem. Its a heavily centralised hub and spoke pathetic fragile scam thing invented by the same mentality that claims money should be centralised, monitored and controlled(aka the enemy of crypto).

Smart man being involved with Digibyte. Does not cost that much to load up on 100's of thousands of Digibytes. I only wish DGB would come up with an easy way to purchase Digibytes with FIAT. I tried Abra they cancelled my deposit and replied with unfortunately we are unable to lift the bank restriction. Our sincere apologies. I wish I could easily buy more DGB without the headache of buying Bitcoin first.
I know, it can be cumbersome but is getting better. DGB continues to get added to more and more exchanges. Also, I believe Bittrex offers USD pairing to DGB in a handful of states in the US, and this fall DX Exchange will offer DGB to Euro transactions. GeneralBytes ATMs also support fiat conversion to DGB. So we're getting there 😎
Couldn't agree more! It seems as though every time I find one way to purchase dgb, I go back five minutes later only to find out it doesn't work! So is the iOS dgb wallet not a “ core wallet” what does that mean? And why isn’t this a dgb core wallet? What’s the difference? Thanks.
Hi Jim, the mobile wallets are what are known as SPV clients which stands for Simple Payment Verification. It verifies the transaction on the blockchain, without the entire blockchain being downloaded to the device. So that's the major difference between these mobile wallets, and a core wallet. The important thing is that with both, transactions occur, and are confirmed, on the blockchain.

I restored my Android Digibyte wallet and it gave me a new address and one of my deposits (the largest one) is not in the wallet anymore after fully syncing. Anyway to solve this?
