Not a natural Cbus fan myself, but if you're new and want a team thats going to be getting better as you watch them, they're the perfect team they already have a decent defense, a couple older wingers who are pretty good, but they also have 3 VERY good defensemen coming up, one of the best centermen coming up, and some other very good young peices that will help them contend for years as long as they stay the course.

@DaSpurTitan won't be a bandwagon fan following Columbus, as of right now they're probably the least cared about team in the east right now. And I see people constantly underrate them because they had a bad year last year. I still don't expect them to make the playoffs this year but I think they're better than people expect. And they have a very bright future, especially on defense.

I won’t pay for NHL channel , network, or any games that I need to pay to watch. So what team should I be a fan of that has a lot of games that get put on TV nationally, and are fun to watch ?
As a San Jose fan, I'm quite hyped actually. Yes this year we will most likely funny bottom 5, but I am optimistic that we've seen the worst so far despite everyone thinking it will be worse. Also the prospect pool is actually underrated, and depending how development goes, I can see a world where in 3 years we could start challenging for a playoff spot again maybe. But regardless, I'm hyped for this year as we have a lot of new faces, several players that are trying to get a fresh start in a new organization and who knows what they could bring, and what Grier will cook for us this year!
I wouldn't be surprised if they regressed a little more this season, but I see what you mean regarding the worst being over. The organization has learned from its past and is willing to rip off the band aid to build a stable future. I look at '25-26 and by then, we could have Will Smith and Musty playing, we could have had another top-3 pick, hopefully Eklund budding into a young star. We still need another franchise cornerstone on defense and a legit goaltender (like the Red Wings have with Cossa and the Wild with Wallstedt), but I understand these things take time. Go Sharks Go!

@@TwistedWristerHockey yup, Latvia is one of three countries in the world (along with Canada and Finland) where Hockey is the most popular/watched sport. We also got a medal in this years IIHF championship for the first time in history. And yeah, Raitis was a great player 💪
Fortunately, each of the 16 Eastern Conference teams play in the eastern time zone. So you could chose anyone from the Red Wings, to the Panthers, to the Canadiens...now it's just a matter of what type of team you would enjoy supporting :)
I'm from UK and have only preferred the Western Conference namely Colorado Avalanche, timezone is not even an issue, lifetime fan since 95 got 2 of the top 5 players in the NHL and are stacked AF, can't go wrong with the avs
Although not in the NHL. The Portland Winterhawks are my favorite team. I've been a fan since I was 9 years old, and they introduced me to the sport. Which is ironically why I find it hard to settle on an NHL team. I mean, I did root for Chicago when I was a kid too, and LA recently. But nothing seems to stick. Maybe one day I'll find my pro team.
Regardless of who everyone else around me is a fan of, I chose the Blackhawks. And now I'm a diehard fan. I went my own way and love it! Highs and lows, no matter what!😎
I like 14 teams 7 in east and 7 in west top 4 in east are Panthers, Bruins, Lightning, leafs. Bottom 3 in n east caps Carolina and devils. Top 4 in west Avalanche, Stars, Kings Vegas. Bottom 3 west Ducks, Blackhaws, Coyotes.
New NHL fan here, from France. And in my country ice hockey is not popular at all so I'm coming in pretty blind, I don't know the players, I don't know 95% of the "lore" of the NHL so here's that. However I've decided to get behind the Calgary Flames. Simply because I'm a pro wrestling fan and a few wrestlers that I admire come from Calgary.
I got into hockey around the same time the kraken came around so it’s easy to follow them, but I’m really rooting for the predators mainly for the heart and the idgaf let’s throw hands mentality they have
Ducks 🦆🦆🦆I was their fan since I was 7 because they had sick logo. So I Ioved Teemu and Paul in that time. They don't have sick logo rn, it looks like flying shit. Their last seasons were terrible, but I see we have a great future ahead. Leo, Trevor, Mason, Pavel or Lukas Dostal... I love watching those young players. We just need to develop them carefuly. I also really like signing of Radko Gudas, he's the defender we needed last years. Though guy with great body usage. Love it.
I'm a new NHL fan and I think I'll just pick my team based on my gut feeling and natural attraction to a certain team. At the moment I have reduced the list of the 32 teams in the league to only 4 teams : Columbus Blue Jackets Ottawa Senators Nashville Predators Anaheim Ducks Now the question is how will I manage to stay with only one team, out of these 4 teams, that will become my favorite team? It's not an easy choice, but it's really fun and in the meantime I'm also enjoying the journey (:
My three teams to watch are the same as last year: 1) Chicago Blackhawks - always rout for my hometown team and excited to see the rebuild Minnesota Wild - MAF is my favorite player of all time and I enjoy the rest of the team New Jersey Devils - They were the first team I saw play against the Blackhawks live in Chicago and just gravitated to them. They were so fun to watch last year too. I thought they would win the cup last year and I think they will win again. Honorable mention: Seattle kraken. Love the city, love the logo, love the colors, love the stadium, and great fans.
Thank you! As long as I use segments that are 11 seconds or less, then I am not violating the league's terms; I guess it is then "fair use." At least, that is my experience here on TH-cam :)
I’m new to hockey this year ,I watched kracken make a good playoff run but don’t wanna be a band wagon fan lol you convinced me to pick the sharks even tho dark days are ahead but future looks really bright. Plus there jerseys are teal that’s my favorite color and who doesn’t like an arena nicknamed the shark tank!
Just getting into hockey 2023 November. I live in Iowa so I watch iowa wild in Des Moines. So I've been watching Minnesota Wild, Colorado avalanche cuz I'm a denver broncos fan.
You should personally cheer for the Boston Bruins, this year they broke a record, made it to the playoffs. And played great, with 6 Stanley Cup wins. Boston plays great every year. And I’m from Springfield, MA, that’s why you should root for the Bruins!
My Red Wings and Rangers are up there for teams to watch for. Can't wait to see what they do. And hopefully I dont need a second team to cheer for this year finally.
I have really enjoyed the hurricanes, they have a unique play style that doesn't count on individual players and they are not frequently talked about. The only other team I pay attention to is the kraken. Both teams I have lived close to.
washington commanders/wizards fan, but i'm from indiana. thinking about choosing the capitals because of the whole washington thing, but love the avalanche and their branding. very conflicted. which one has a better future outlook?
my 3 teams in this order.. Knights, Aves, blackhawks. Always been a fan of each been a longer fan of the hawks cause they we my first hockey team I liked and the knights have not come to vegas yet. If i had a 4th it is the Jets. Did these comments come from your discord?
i’m a die hard Raiders fan.. i feel like hockey has that culture naturally, but who most closely resembles that team identity in the NHL ? also i’m from Atlanta, isn’t there an expansion coming soon & are cities confirmed yet
my favorite uniforms are Sharks & Ducks throwback jerseys, Blackhawks have some nice jerseys too. Coyotes colorway is nice, but i don’t know anything about the organization, i wanna root for more than favorite jerseys
Maybe you can root for the Blackhawks. This season they are retiring the number of Hall of Fame defenseman, Chris Chelios. He is American but has Greek heritage 🇬🇷 There is also a Greektown in Chicago. This is just the first team that I can think of; they won't be good for a couple of years, but they have a generational talent in Connor Bedard 😄
@@TwistedWristerHockey Thank you so much!! I had a really hard time choosing a team because I had no idea about the teams, but you instantly helped me! I feel relieved right now lol! Much love from Greece! 🇬🇷
@@TwistedWristerHockey I also checked the current roster of Chicago Blackhawks and saw a Greek player called Andreas Athanasiou! This is definitely my team!
Oilers fan since the early eighties and all through the decade of darkness. I bleed blue and orange and that will never change however I do cheer for other teams like Vancouver and Toronto. This year I am really excited for Ottawa, over the last couple seasons they have been my dark horse team in the East. Could this be the year they take that step, I am hoping so but they must get off to better starts. Excited for Ottawa and hoping the Canucks can push for a playoff spot. Really excited for the season to get going, I think the Atlantic is probably going to be the closest race overall. Go Oil!
I think Korpisalo is the x-factor for the Sens. If he performs similarly to last year, they could secure a wild card spot and perhaps better. Everything else is trending up for them!
I've just gotten into hockey in the last week or so. I picked Seattle Kraken to be my team and I am so happy with my choice. I love the energy of the team.
Oh man, I'm nowhere near as clued into today's NFL as I am the NHL 😅 And at this point, I'll probably tune out the NFL with my Vikings being 0-2 already lol.
I can't fault you for that, but I think they'll start to takes steps forward next year (even if it doesn't show in the standings). I'm curious to see if the Yotes can steal a playoff spot in a weakening division. Anyway, I'll link you to my Sharks season preview in case you wanna have a listen th-cam.com/video/1YxAmMh6Bec/w-d-xo.html
Totally! I have my absolute favorite team that will never change, but I have two Eastern teams that I follow extensively. It's also fun to have a backup team if your main team is going through a lengthy playoff drought.
Comment from the Islanders guy, Horvat ok I can see the justification of mentioning him, but why would u even mention first full year of Engvall lol.......ooh cant wait to see what a full year of Engvall will do for a team! Lol. No disrespects, just thought that comment was funny that's all lol anyhoo...cheers all!
Also from Indiana, our family roots for the Redwings! Mostly because we have family in Michigan, but they're close enough that it*kinda*feels like our team too lmao

@@TwistedWristerHockey yup, Latvia is one of three countries in the world (along with Canada and Finland) where Hockey is the most popular/watched sport. We also got a medal in this years IIHF championship for the first time in history. And yeah, Raitis was a great player 💪
It's difficult but I'd prefer an eastern team as i am from UK because of the time zone.
Fortunately, each of the 16 Eastern Conference teams play in the eastern time zone. So you could chose anyone from the Red Wings, to the Panthers, to the Canadiens...now it's just a matter of what type of team you would enjoy supporting :)
@@TwistedWristerHockey Do you have any idea what teams usually play earlier than the rest in the east?
I'm from UK and have only preferred the Western Conference namely Colorado Avalanche, timezone is not even an issue, lifetime fan since 95 got 2 of the top 5 players in the NHL and are stacked AF, can't go wrong with the avs
@metalheadcol The avs have interested me but they just remind me of a football team I don't like so I'm put off.
That is amazing! Always love to hear people love their local AHL team if they have them.
@@DerelictNacho whl.
Regardless of who everyone else around me is a fan of, I chose the Blackhawks. And now I'm a diehard fan. I went my own way and love it!
Highs and lows, no matter what!😎
I love Vilardi! Every time he had the puck last year, I felt he might score. Just for blessed sake, stay healthy!
Thanks for featuring me nick
Thank you for being a voice for the fans! 👏
I got into hockey around the same time the kraken came around so it’s easy to follow them, but I’m really rooting for the predators mainly for the heart and the idgaf let’s throw hands mentality they have
Let's go Bruins!!!
My second team is Winnipeg. Connor Hellebuyck went to the same college as me. The guy is a UMass Lowell legend.
At the moment I have reduced the list of the 32 teams in the league to only 4 teams :
Columbus Blue Jackets
Ottawa Senators
Nashville Predators
Anaheim Ducks
Now the question is how will I manage to stay with only one team, out of these 4 teams, that will become my favorite team?
It's not an easy choice, but it's really fun and in the meantime I'm also enjoying the journey (:
My three teams to watch are the same as last year:
1) Chicago Blackhawks - always rout for my hometown team and excited to see the rebuild
Minnesota Wild - MAF is my favorite player of all time and I enjoy the rest of the team
New Jersey Devils - They were the first team I saw play against the Blackhawks live in Chicago and just gravitated to them. They were so fun to watch last year too. I thought they would win the cup last year and I think they will win again.
Honorable mention: Seattle kraken. Love the city, love the logo, love the colors, love the stadium, and great fans.
That's cool that you have distinct reasons for each team. And how could anyone (except maybe Rangers fans lol) not want to check out the Devils again!
You know what team go for twisted you're a beauty. Let's go blues!
I’m rooting for the Kraken to get the big silver cup for Jordan Eberle. This is the year to get it done.🎉
My favorite team is the Minnesota wild at the start of the season they weren’t doing the best but now they are on fire
Love your content! How are you able to post actual NHL footage?
I'm also new to hockey and I am going with the Leafs, because of the tradition and I like their style of play
No your a bandwagon if your not from Massachusetts like you are
Im an Australian and im so split between teams 😅
The Winter Classic is at T-mobile Park the baseball stadium
Oh crikey, you're right! 😅
My Red Wings and Rangers are up there for teams to watch for. Can't wait to see what they do. And hopefully I dont need a second team to cheer for this year finally.
Wait - you guys got to pick the team you cheer for?
I have really enjoyed the hurricanes, they have a unique play style that doesn't count on individual players and they are not frequently talked about.
The only other team I pay attention to is the kraken.
Both teams I have lived close to.
I'm planning to go to PNC Arena for the first time in about six weeks - can't wait!
Colorado, Detroit, Philly for this season
washington commanders/wizards fan, but i'm from indiana. thinking about choosing the capitals because of the whole washington thing, but love the avalanche and their branding. very conflicted. which one has a better future outlook?
avalanche have better future. Wizards have a very old core currently.
You convinced me to check out Montreal Canadiens
my 3 teams in this order.. Knights, Aves, blackhawks. Always been a fan of each been a longer fan of the hawks cause they we my first hockey team I liked and the knights have not come to vegas yet. If i had a 4th it is the Jets. Did these comments come from your discord?
I hate the Knights.
i’m a die hard Raiders fan.. i feel like hockey has that culture naturally, but who most closely resembles that team identity in the NHL ? also i’m from Atlanta, isn’t there an expansion coming soon & are cities confirmed yet
my favorite uniforms are Sharks & Ducks throwback jerseys, Blackhawks have some nice jerseys too. Coyotes colorway is nice, but i don’t know anything about the organization, i wanna root for more than favorite jerseys
I hope Atlanta gets a team soon, because a new team in Canada in a couple of years would be great. Either Hamilton, Ontario or Quebec City is fine.
European fan here (I'm from Greece). What team should I support? Subbed!
@@dreamofyesterday ^ Let's Go Hawks! I'm happy to help :)
The Islanders, duh. What other team is there to cheer for??
NHL players are so cute 🥰 but I am a blackhawks fan so I'll choose Chicago Blackhawks.
I'm a saints fan in Football . My favorite hockey 🏒 team is Seattle Kraken .
Still trying to pick my team! Go team hockey!
Im a diehard rangers fan but I'd be lying if I said I didn't likw the blue jackets solely for the cannon
I've just gotten into hockey in the last week or so. I picked Seattle Kraken to be my team and I am so happy with my choice. I love the energy of the team.
It's a shame Carter Hart is done with the Flyers because of his lawsuit. He was a great guy
im a lifelong diehard avs fan but man i love the kraken lol
Can you maybe do a video on what nfl team you should root for
Oh man, I'm nowhere near as clued into today's NFL as I am the NHL 😅 And at this point, I'll probably tune out the NFL with my Vikings being 0-2 already lol.
Debating Penguins or Oilers I NEED THE FEEDBACK OF THE PEOPLE
I live in Québec so by birthright I am obligated to worship the Montreal Canadians
I completely forgot I wrote that lol!
I'm a sharks fan and I won't be watching them much this season. I will be watching Ottawa and Arizona this season the most .
I was going to check that video out !
Yotes may squeak in. Such a fun team . I love watching plucky teams like them.
A team was easy choice cuz I’m from Tennessee, so Preds it is
As an az sports fan I hope we draft well.
My other team witch is my dads team is the kraken
Then there's me choosing the bruins because I like the jersey
i’ll root for columbus being from ohio, but i like the oilers and redwings as of right now
Red Wings, always!
Can you have an eastern and western conference team?
Totally! I have my absolute favorite team that will never change, but I have two Eastern teams that I follow extensively. It's also fun to have a backup team if your main team is going through a lengthy playoff drought.
I’ll be cheering for the same team I’ve been cheering for since I started watching hockey… Anaheim Ducks! 🦆
Congratulations Nick, your Sharks are ahead of Edmonton Oilers . Right now we’ve got 0 wins 2 losses
You're conceding 6 goals a game, too 😞 Will that continue in Nashville tomorrow night? I'll be live to call play-by-play for that, fyi.
ALL i know is Apparent to the games Oilers are doing something
Just watched avalanche im really liking them
anyone who picked the coyotes is definitely regretting that pick 😂
me 😔
Got in to hockey last year picked the coyotes as my favorite team then they moved to Utah
My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Penguins
Comment from the Islanders guy, Horvat ok I can see the justification of mentioning him, but why would u even mention first full year of Engvall lol.......ooh cant wait to see what a full year of Engvall will do for a team! Lol. No disrespects, just thought that comment was funny that's all lol anyhoo...cheers all!
I live in Indiana and I don't have an in state team. Who should I root for?
Also from Indiana, our family roots for the Redwings! Mostly because we have family in Michigan, but they're close enough that it*kinda*feels like our team too lmao
LGR! Blueshirts all the way!
I've been a bruins fan since the 70's go B's
LETS GO BRUINS
pens easily and great video nick
As totally not a actual human a bear ty for good comments
My top 3 teams:
1) Detroit Red Wings
2) Minnesota Wild
3) Seattle Kraken
I support Sharks, they are the closest to me and there crest is awesome. Unlike the LA Kings
Just to be sure, am I legally allowed to cheer for more than one team?
(giving you a Chuck Norris-sized thumbs up)
3 months later…Jets….SURPRISE!
Hi
Ciao
I got a job with the Kraken! 😊
WOW, congratulations! You must be absolutely fired up 🦑🎉🙌 Hopefully they've got some great perks and a tankful of awesome coworkers you'll enjoy getting to know :)
Old People Rule! Let’s Go Pens!
The one you live closest too, simple as that.
The one that I live closest to is Tampa by 749 miles lol. I don´t think I´ll be rooting for em
My fav team is the ducks rn…
This didn’t age well for the oilers
Go Stars.
Let's go Rangers!!!
Rangers! NYR! 💙🤍❤️
