This is still one of the most beautiful songs I've ever listened to. I made this request back when you wanted to hear Till actually sing. You've heard him by now a few different times, but this one really shows what he can do. You've said everything there is to say about his vocals. I was sitting here, watching with a big smile :) The only song I think his singing is as great is one of the most recent songs "Zeit" which you've heard live by now. This is mostly based on a poem of his. The words only make it even more beautiful. He made this song for a theater play his daughter was a part of (he made 6 songs for that play). I'm with you regarding the ending. It builds and builds, makes you want more and more - and whoosh. Song over. I love and hate it as well. I know the story of Jekyll and Hyde, yet I didn't know there was a musical! Thank you for making me aware of that! And also thank you for the reaction! And: Thinking of what you said in "Lucy" - Skillet: A ballad that worked for you in a way, ha! ;)
For those interested in the lyrics: Fine soul, oh so naked And whether/as I stand completely without skin Look at me Hope creeps out of flesh and blood Mischief chews on cheerfulness Look at you Happiness leaves me Heart leaves me Everything leaves me Leaves me Happiness leaves me Heart leaves me Only the unhappiness remains Bows down Who knows Who knows My heart Up and away Who knows Who knows My heart Up and away I love life - life does not love me It kicks me (with feet) and punches me in the face I love the Sun - the Sun does not love me Burns my soul, the day without light I run away, want to free myself But the unhappiness, it takes me Again and again Drinks my tears, jumps into my blood Eats my dreams and feeds well ... yes Look at you Who knows Who knows My heart Up and away Who knows Who knows My heart Up and away I love life - life does not love me It kicks me (with feet) and punches me in the face I love the Sun - the Sun does not love me The future so dark, all days without light
You know precisely when someone is singing from the bottom of their heart and revealing their soul. Till is such a person, such a gift and blessing, who gives many people a voice that would otherwise be silenced and drowned in the roar of social media's feigned indifference.
The lyrics to this are beautiful. Shame theres no translation. All about a person who feels hated shamed and cast aside by everyone, even the world itself hating them. But they don't know that persons heart , the true inner beauty they have
❓WHO KNOWS ❓ Fine soul oh so naked And if I stand without skin Look at me Hope creeps from flesh and blood The calamity chews on the cheerfulness Look at you Happiness leaves me Heart leaves me Everything leaves me Leaves me Happiness leaves me Heart leaves me Only the misfortune remains Bows Who knows this already Who knows this already My heart Up and down I love life - life doesn’t love me It kicks me with feet and slaps me in the face I love the sun - the sun doesn’t love me Burns my soul, the day without light I run away, want to free myself But the misfortune, it takes me Again and again Drink my tears, jump into my blood Eat my dreams and feed yourself well...yes Look at you Who knows this already Who knows this already My heart Up and down I love life - life doesn’t love me It kicks me with feet and slaps me in the face I love the sun - the sun doesn’t love me The future so dark, all days without light
Oh yes, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I can totally "see" Till in that one. I also forgot that there is a musical as well. Yes, he can have a really great voice. The second musician here is Peter Tägtgren, you should check him out, because he is the lead singer and founder of Pain and Hypocrisy. As always thank you so much David. ❤
Always reminds me a lot of German chansoniers like Udo Jürgens and Roland Kaiser. By the way, Till wrote lyrics "Ich weiß alles (I know everything)" for the first one.
this song was written by Till Lindemann for the play 'Hansel and Gretel'.. a stage play that Lindemann's daughter ,Nele, was involved in ,, 4 of the other songs from that Lindemann album were written for that play and later incorporated onto that record with Peter Tägtgren.. Here is the original duet from the play which I like better than the album release th-cam.com/video/SUcraPt-w2s/w-d-xo.html
Jekyll and Hyde is very good idea to interpret this song. It's a view of an idealistic person into the mirror showing the reality and making the spectator depressive (like Hölderlin, Schumann or Nietzsche). A very empathic reaction ... Thank you for you high rating. Didn't expect it because this song isn't spectacular ... but deep as a Schubert-Lied ..

8.8 I have no arguments with that score now I'm going to go look up Jekyll and Hyde confrontation but before I do it almost sounded to me like till was having some sort of internal conflict that he was trying to resolve
Please for the love of god, do a review of Amy Lee’s vocals! On literally any song that wasn’t mainstream. I’m sick of people only knowing the radio songs evanescence produced. Amy lee gets literally no recognition for being; in my opinion, one of the best female vocalists of all time. Not saying she’s the best by any means, but nobody understands how good she really is.

I know huh??? Great points You made
I love the Hansel and Gretel play! I really wish they would have made a proper recording of it for those of us who couldn't see it live
For those interested in the lyrics:
Fine soul, oh so naked
And whether/as I stand completely without skin
Look at me
Hope creeps out of flesh and blood
Mischief chews on cheerfulness
Look at you
Happiness leaves me
Heart leaves me
Everything leaves me
Leaves me
Happiness leaves me
Heart leaves me
Only the unhappiness remains
Bows down
Who knows
Who knows
My heart
Up and away
Who knows
Who knows
My heart
Up and away
I love life - life does not love me
It kicks me (with feet) and punches me in the face
I love the Sun - the Sun does not love me
Burns my soul, the day without light
I run away, want to free myself
But the unhappiness, it takes me
Again and again
Drinks my tears, jumps into my blood
Eats my dreams and feeds well ... yes
Look at you
Who knows
Who knows
My heart
Up and away
Who knows
Who knows
My heart
Up and away
I love life - life does not love me
It kicks me (with feet) and punches me in the face
I love the Sun - the Sun does not love me

ZAZ - Le jardin des larmes feat. Till Lindemann 😍
Another Lindemann song that is a really nice duet as well, it's ZAZ - Le jardin des larmes feat. Till Lindemann. The music video is great as well.
so beautyful, funny and surprising
A magical tune, fantastic vocals and an original reaction from Mr. Heretic! thank you David for an excellent show!
Great one! Even if my old soul brain forgets the lyrics...
great reaction, it's nice to see someone enjoy a song and have lots of thing to say, that's what it's all about brother
Indeed that's why I appreciate David!
What a song ❤
Love this song ❤️❤️❤️
