We confirmed it was filmed at Golfland in Mesa before the sunsplash slides were built. Those older slides are still there on the Golfland side. www.phoenixnewtimes.com/arts/bill-and-ted-excellent-adventure-30th-anniversary-phoenix-locations-11208016

Mesa has got to be the most unknown big city in the country. It’s got a population of over 500k (bigger then cities like Pittsburgh and Salt Lake City) but it’s almost unknown outside of AZ. Part of the reason is they’ve never had any real pro sports stadiums (spring training doesn’t really count). Mesa had the chance to get a Cardinals stadium years ago but didn’t show much interest so the Cards moved to Glendale instead. It’s like the city wants to be incognito. Mess certainly could use something like a stadium to revitalize the city. Most of Mesa is older and rundown. There are nice places on the outskirts of town where new developments are going in in the northeast of town but a lot of Mesa is kind of dumpy.
Bill and teds first movie was filmed at coronado just like the disney not quite human with Allen Thick the cubs used to practice in Scottsdale before mesa you forgot falcon field confederate airforce by the way the apache helicopter is Mcdonald Douglas ah64 late 2000s was when boeing bought out md helicopters at Falcon field there used to be a oronge field on McDowell rd going into mesa falcon field that was replaced by housing so much for local grown oranges bummer the md500 series helicopters is owned by boeing so it would not be hueghs/md/Boeing
Mesa sucks. Trust me, I have lived in Phoenix my whole life and done the research. Of all the suburbs around Phx. Mesa is the worst. The biggest patch of double wides I have ever seen is in Mesa. Somewhere there is a large group of Mormons lamenting the decision to plant a flag in Mesa because the guys on the mission keep getting their bikes stolen. The idea that Mesa could be seen as a destination and not a place to escape has never even crossed my mind. Its a place where people end up, like prison or a cemetery.
I live in Mesa and love it!

Yep, Fiesta is gone. So many memories of that place for me in the 80s. 😢

A big part of it - it's the nation's largest suburb. If it were on its own, it might have its own team, but... its a suburb of Phoenix.
I remember it being a big deal when Mesa reached 100k population.
And now it's well over 500k!
