I’m always so grateful for the migraine aura, because it precedes the actual pain of the migraine, which gives me early warning to take medicine so that I never get to the painful part. The trick is figuring out which med works for you, but it’s even better if you can nail down your triggers. Welcome to the club no one wants to be in!
I'm so jealous of people with auras bc I have very active migraine without auras and it's a 💩show every time. I need to take the med super early but also can't take it too often so I have to wait and see if the migraine actually comes in strong and then take the medicine WHEN I'm sure it's needed. Then it might be too late for medicine to kick in properly. Also the pre symptoms are not clear when you have them almost every day. So yeah, be thankful to your auras, even I bet its scary when it f***s with your vision.
Suzie don't be scared! stress can do really crazy things. Also migraine with aura can do this, sometimes vision can go completely too. Don't be worried Suzie, your body is just telling you to relax. Also don't trust people online because everyone always likes to say the worst.
The first time I had that type of migraine I was terrified !!! I TOTALLY understand ! Even though now slightly less disturbing it is helpful to know one is coming. Mine tend to me not too painful but can be worse. I just want you to know you are not alone ! ❤️❤️❤️
In regards to the shoe storage...we had the same shelves and had the same problem. Then we bought some silicone mats. They are textured and come in a variety of colors or just see trough. They provide a lot of grip so none of the shoes were sliding down anymore. Here in Germany we buy them in stationary stores per meter or on a roll. Then you can cut them to size. They totally solved the problem. I'm sure amazon will have them.
Hi Susie I had similar experience about 10 years ago and yes it’s a migraine but without the headache but it was a scary first experience now I’m used to it and know when it comes enjoy your vlogs 🌸🌸
Omg I just recently had my first ocular migraine as well!! I was home alone and knew it wasn't safe to drive anywhere, but didn't think it was a big enough deal to call an ambulance. So I called my optometrist instead who calmed me down, told me what it was (ocular migraine) and said that if it starts to happen repeatedly then should maybe seek some further help but that they're otherwise totally normal/fine. But I know EXACTLY what you meant when you were describing it - it was so, so scary.
also because of the migraine - get a prescription of sumatriptan it helps with the aura really quickly but a migraine always means a day of being knocked out. the botox deffo helps with migraines - do you have it between the eyebrows? also check if your neck is really tight - I get my migraine from having overly tight muscles - I get dryneedling done for it and it helps so much.
Hi my lovely… You can get an ikea insert to go on those shoe trays that divides the back from the front and let you double up numbers of items on each layer.. Just bought a load myself when I had mine installed last year. If you don’t find them let me know and I’ll look at my order. 🥰
This is a very nice room Suzie! I like your minimalist cosy cloud vision for the decor. I think life is too short to get frustrated every single day because of shelves: get the shelves you want, it’s an easy fix!
I've gotten migraine with aura a couple of times -- so scary!! Glad you figured out what it was quickly. I sat in the ER for hours. Btw, if it's helpful to anyone, birth control pills aren't necessarily safe to take if you have migraine with aura -- a certain type is, so obviously something to talk about with your doctor, but I found this out after being diagnosed. In lighter news, closet looks great, also!
It was a visual migraine and I used to get them a few years ago. I now wear glasses and I have a stigmatism in one eye. It is incredibly frightening!!! I had it occur twice when driving on a freeway doing 100km an hour. It is worse for me when in heavy rain and at around the same time I was diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis. Getting older isn't fun in this regard. I take iron and D3 supplements now and I'm not sure if they make a difference but blood tests showed I was low in both.
A good thing to do with visual aura is to check it's in both eyes - if it's one eye, you may have an actual eye issue, but if you close one eye and then the other and you can see it in each eye separately it's very likely migraine with aura. I find it reassuring as it tells me there's not a problem with my sight and is just a migraine. Definitely a sign to relax and slow down a bit :-) Also often hormone related.
I’ve had migraines like this since I was 12. They are scary but best advise is take painkillers and go to bed in a dark room. If you get other symptoms like numbness in your hands and feet or slurring your words this again could just be a migraine (I get every symptom). You only need to worry if they last for a few days. I really hope this is a one off for you. Stress is a major trigger so definitely your body telling you to slow down. Please take care of yourself. Love all your content……just don’t put so much pressure on yourself ❤️
I vote yes to keep the jacket. I have also experienced those sudden eye sight loss because of stress and migraine..... body telling you to slow down a bit.
I always get migraines after stressful times in my life. A lot of women get them either the week before their period or the week of their period. It is due to drop in oestrogen. And the big problem with migraines is that your stomach stops digesting so if you take tablets after a certain time they won't work and you might get sick. So as another commenter said, try to work out your triggers, carry medicine in your handbag and go to your doctor. They will keep a record of when the migraines started and you might need prescription medication if they get very bad. The key is to mind yourself Suzi, but sometimes it's hard to say no to people and work and everything. I love your house reno, it looks amazing.

If the shoes keep sliding down, and to not see the shelves dots, look for rubbery non slip material in white that some use in cars on dash boards. They will keep them in place plus can be easily washed from marks off shoe soles and protect from sharp heels scratches.
Have had aura migraines since I was 17, the first one was the SCARIEST THING!!! I was at a bus stop and it happened… anyway over the years (touch wood and probably because I know what they are and how to deal with them) they’ve gotten less.. usually hormonal but not always, I feel you,it’s awful.. thank goodness my sister had them too (but at the bus stop that day I had no idea). .. ❤❤❤
Oh hun! That was 100% an ocular migraine - I get them every so often when I’m tired, stressed, very anxious, overstimulated, low in sugar, or looking at screens too long! Also with your stress levels being high in that moment also means your blood pressure was probably also high which can cause them too! If you’re prone to migraines in general, ocular migraines are also more common. I would highly recommend taking ibuprofen or paracetamol if you feel another coming on or in the early stages of another one as it can calm the symptoms down.
I get aura migraines too, it manifests in different ways. Sometimes im straight away half blind and other times I can get because my arm looks like it’s floating. Half my body goes numb and I know I have about 20 mins to get into bed and try to sleep. You have to be careful with aura migraines about which contraception you take. For example you can’t take a combined pill as it increases your risk of a stroke. Might be worth seeing your doctor to check this out x
I love the blazer on you. Would be really cute with a pair of fitted jeans. I get ocular migraines. My vision gets patchy, squiggly lines...sometimes I get a headache afterward, but not always. It is very strange! It was very scary the first time it happened to me!
For/against your migraine: let your dentist check, if you are pressing your teeth together (especially during the night)-got a plastic thingy similar to Invisalign and bye bye migraines.
Oh I had my first one two years ago after lifting a heavy bag and I thought the worst! I went to the doctor because I was alone home, I had to walk and it was a nightmare because I couldn’t see!have a nice day
There will be items that you won't wear today, but you will in 4-5 years (like the blazer). So zip bags (the ones you remove the air from) and you will have a useful archive to use in the future.
I have the same thing with my eye. It’s called eye migraines. I also see colors when I have an eye migraine. But nothing hurts. I don’t have head migraines or anything. Just the eye thing. You really can’t do anything about it. I always just sit are lay down with my eyes closed en it slowly disappears
Carry a nurofen in ur purse at all times, as soon as the visual migraine starts pop the pill, you’ll still go through the visual migraine, it travels from right to left across ur vision once it’s completed you’ll be fine. Try taking a fleck of salt every morning with ur water to keep you properly hydrated
Hi Suzie. Just a thought but were you wearing your contacts? The lense might have had a small tear which blocked your vision and then developed a migraine because your eye was trying to see round the obstacle. Sorry I know you said there were no floaters in your eye but thought I would mention it anyway as I have definitely thought there was something wrong with my eyes only to realise it was an issue with my lenses in the past.
not sure if youre on any hormonal contraception but if you are id advose ypu see your gp and discuss alternatives, if youre getting auras with migraines its an idea to stop any hormonal contraceptives xx
That was the reason why I stopped my contraception after almost 20 years! If normal migraines turns into migraines with aura your risk of stroke due to oral contraception increases and in my country they take you off contraception straight away.
You were having a migraine. This is normal - stress induced migraine. You have to take nurofen and lie in a dark room - complete darkness until it passes. And don’t look at screens for the rest of the day. And no bright lights. Carry nurofen with you at all times just in case. Also a sick bag as it can make you nauseous. Hugs ! Xx
Why I think a pax system could have been installed in this room could be different and storage space could be more efficient? It seems as if the system you have organized does not take too much stuff. You need more storage area girl :((
Why is it that content creators do not own an exacto knife for packages? I mean seriously …. Get one! Will make your package opening life so much easier
Sounds like you were having an ocular migraine. You usually lose your peripheral vision & can’t read anything for approximately 20-30minutes. The first time I had one I thought I was having a stroke. They are very common as you age. I’m glad you’re ok😘
It really depends on what you want. Some people prefer an open closet space to see everything. Others prefer something that is closed off. Neither is wrong or right.
I’m always so grateful for the migraine aura, because it precedes the actual pain of the migraine, which gives me early warning to take medicine so that I never get to the painful part. I came here to also say what you mentioned here!👍🏻
It definitely sounds like an ocular migraine. I've had them for years. And I don't always get a headache with mine.
can’t wait to watch suzie!!! your house is looking incredible. also loving the podcast so much! One of my faves ❤❤

shocked to see the prada cleo in your 'to sell' pile - it's so beautiful! would love a video on why you're selling certain items :)

Over the knee boots look great on display with shoe inserts! helps to keep their shape
Were you planning on maybe having a mirror or minimalist art piece on the wall between the chairs? Love the new space ♥
Sorry about your migraine Suzie, take care of yourself 💕
Wardrobe room is looking good!
Also love that active wear set, such a nice colour.
As a VI girlie, i can sympathise with the eye anxiety.

You can easily get some pretty mats on those shelves that can grip your shoes and look lovely.
Love all your vlogs and I need to say I'm LOVING your podcast being back
Hi dear, I have similar type of migraine, no need to worry, I am 53 and been having them since I was a teenager ❤
I get this too! I think it's an ocular migraine and for me it's almost like a kaleidoscope or something. Freaked me out the first time too!
I vote yes to keep the jacket. I have also experienced those sudden eye sight loss because of stress and migraine..... body telling you to slow down a bit.

I would just change the buttons on the zara blazer for black or dark brown ones. It will make it more modern
I would put a tiny white bath mat or other carpet on the shelves for shoes

I had that. Go get an eye exam to check for a detaching retinal or a hole in the membrane. I had laser surgery to repair the hole.
I'd put the eventswardrobe downstairs and have everything you need to get dressed on the daily in the same place in the dressingroom upstairs.
Oh my god!!!! I searched everywhere for those dune mules!!!!! Please can I have them if you’re getting rid of them 😩🙏🏻
I’ll buy them both from you obviously!!! PLEASE ❤️😬😩😂
Drop me a DM babe xx

Visual migraine for definite, I’m an optician
Could have chosen much nicer quality wardrobes from ikea. They have a huge selection and your shoes would have fitted better
I bet it’s out within a year. It might by pretty and minimalistic, but so impractical
It really depends on what you want. Some people prefer an open closet space to see everything. Others prefer something that is closed off. Neither is wrong or right.
