Hey Alex! Totally fair enough and it is your money to do with as you please for sure. I do want to point out thought that many of these Chinese brands are actually made by Korean companies. In the case of kastking I am not 100% sure on that. Alternatively, some of the big names produce their reels and rods at factories outside of Japan. These factories are located all over Asia; Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and China are a few of the countries I know of where they manufacture their products. I mean only 2 years ago CDM reels were absolutely terrible. Now, they’re quite good for what you pay. You can purchase several of these reels for the sale price as a more expensive Japanese reel. Hi ! Someone had the same idea than me to fix the overbraking issue 😉👍 th-cam.com/video/gpdS8C5DEdg/w-d-xo.html
I know zen! We have talked several times and I have something on the way that might also help! Thank you for the idea.
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL You’re welcome. I’m sure this reel can be very good with some tweaks. By the way i’ve just replaced the bushings with bearings in the handle and the feeling is a little bit smoother now 😉
@@MrNoMDI oh the size fits??? And much appreciated!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I already had them... They come from kits for baitcasting reel handles... It is indeed the dimensions that you have given so less thick than those that we generally meet...
@@MrNoMDI it’s a very hard to find size it seems… I was only able to locate one supplier and I am not even sure the size they provide is correct. I have a set on order and will find out.
I will never purchase Chinese reel no more. You don’t know how long they last. I will prefer to spend more money and get name brand. Some times even name brands are similar quality built as Chinese .
So, while I completely understand your disappointment and sentiment it might be good to keep an open mind and inform yourself as much as possible as these brands are getting better and better. I mean only 2 years ago CDM reels were absolutely terrible. Now, they’re quite good for what you pay. You can purchase several of these reels for the sale price as a more expensive Japanese reel. Would I do that? It all depends on my situation at the time I guess. Anyhow, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinions! I hope my video helped show you what the internals of the ve2 are like and I hope that we see improvements from CDM reels in the future!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Purchased one time reel from Kastking Zephyr totally garbage. Two weeks ago received JDM reel Alphas 800s built in Malaysia don’t like it. TWS mechanisms has a lot of play. Have filing Company like Daiwa never checked their products. No quality control
@@alexdashevsky2180 I see. That sounds really unfortunate and I’d probably be just as fed up as you are. I hope you were able to make a return on your purchases and hope that these brands get better in the future.
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I have purchased from Japan don’t know if I can return my reel
@@alexdashevsky2180 ah I see… sorry to hear that… maybe you can resell the reel?
