I think there’s not enough difference to pay the extra for the elite I love the eagle great video as always
Great video, I have really been enjoying fishing with these two reels after work. I don't know if I would have got the Kestrel elite if I knew the valiant eagle II was coming but I also don't regret it. I have roro bearings in the Kestrel elite and use it for really light lures but the valiant eagle does a pretty decent job with the same weights, especially after I got it broke in

I think, you should make a cast with the first reel and then immediately cast the second while there is still the disturbance of the lure hitting the water from the first cast. Then you can truly see where each one is landing in comparison to each other
I bought a kestrel and an Acura from solo king. I don’t regret the styling is amazing
Love your videos. I’m just starting to get into BFS and have been getting a lot of helpful info from you. Do you know if the SLX BFS spool would fit into the original SLX?

You had me sold on the VE2 until..
You said the line got between the spool and the frame.
I own the Zephyr and that happens all the time on that reel if I'm running any line .220 or smaller in diameter. So frustrating because I want to run 6 lb fluro and it doesn't like it.

This reel is just superb for 3gm to 9gm.
The over braking is your friend when go 5 to 9gm.
How do these reels hold up to some “power finesse” fishing? On my BFS, I load 14lb braid, throw 1/8 oz unweighted plastics into heavy cover, and do my best to get hard-pullin’ 6-7lb bass out of the sticks. Are these reals suitable? Thanks!
Great review as ever. Interesting you had no problems with line lay. Maybe it’s better with mono. Mine with braid is far from perfect but I love fishing with it. Interesting you had the line trap between spool and frame with the VE2 but not the kestrel. I guess the tolerances might not be so tight with the cheaper frame. Certainly food for thought. I must try the trout magnet myself, mind you I have no experience with a lure that light. As ever thoroughly enjoyed your review.

Interesting - so the metal ring inside the brake system of the Valiant Eagle 2 seems to have little to no effect.
This ring is is about protection line from gettin under the spool.
AntinSK The metal ring shields half of the magnets when they are fully retracted and sits UNDER the spool. I would expect a reduction of magnetic force here, as only half of the magnet width can interact with the spool itself - the other half acts on the ring (this is with the brakes on 0)
@@berniepechlaner5809 LOL. The metal ring in the cover is static it doesn't spin or move so there is no influence and no Foucault currents on it. And it is made of aluminum so the effect of magnets does not apply to it either. It does not affect the braking force in any way.
@AntinSK Correct - no spinning, no Foucault currents. But as part of the ring sits under the spool - and the magnet banks then sit under it. I thought maybe a ring made out of mumetal (can't be that expensive - isn't that used in platter-based hard drives?) would result in an effective reduction of the magnetic force. If it's aluminum....oh well.
@@MrAntinsk8 Nah because if that were the case they could easily use plastic instead of more costly metal... they were definitely trying to do something similiar to the FTB 2 brakes but it was poor execution as the spool still fit under the new larger brake ring.

Do you ever have problems ordering from aliexpress?
Usually no if you're buying from the bigger aliexpress shops. Some smaller/lesser-known sellers will use shitty couriers which can cause postage delays after the parcel has landed in your country.
I have had a couple of issues with not getting the product even though the tracking says delivered but for the most part its been a good experience as far as actually getting the items

I rather buy Piscifun Torrent II and Soloking BMC100. I would not recommend Kastking.
Then you have not tried kk. I have Several off there reels and they perform just great. No complaints so far.. not to say there won’t be just none so far
I kick myself, I could have bought 3 Valiant Eagle IIs for the price of the Elite. Shame on KastKing
yeah not sure what they were thinking making the Valiant Eagle the same reel weight, spool weight, and potentially better brakes for much less
Have one kast king a speed demon pro reel works well with light line . Kastking products are.very cheap but customer service is good hope these are made better
