I always took Vegeta's "who's the fourth" as him thinking he and goku would be the top two strongest and he was questioning if krillin thought trunks was beneath gohan. It was like he was beginning to show more pride in his own kid.
Interesting idea, but I think it's a lot more likely he thought Cell and Goku were 1st and 2nd, so if Gohan is supposedly the 3rd, that implies Vegeta is the 4th, and Vegeta doesn't believe he's weaker than Gohan (yet).
A lot of people kept asking over the years about the Buu saga but honestly you guys ended it perfectly with the Cell saga (pun non intended but fully embraced). The ending is actually so much better than the OG material with Gokus goodbye, Trunks death and Vegetas rage, and Cells farewell. You guys shot your Kamehameha, blew our socks off and bent it up to the stars. All of you And Taka, you are an actor. And a fantastic one So from the bottom of our hearts down to our Dragon Balls, we thank you for all your hard work on the writting, the syncing, the mouth flapping, the color correction, the cropping, the editing and the brilliant (and iconic) performances of these beloved characters that mean so much to us Thank you (Still want Buu though) (Buu bits dont count but they help)
You really entered history with this parody. You made an impact directly or indirectly on so many people and the way we see and appreciate this show. It's because you really honored each character and each and every aspect of those characters. You really elevated the DBZ experience imo and added so much nuance and perspective on it. ✨✨✨ It isn't just your run of the mill anime with specific rules, it goes beyond that and (as you said) resonated with so many things and experiences of the real world.
Honestly yall's version of this stuff is now my head canon on all of it. I tell anyone I've talked to about this series that they should go and watch the original, of course.. but if they want to see the best version they need to watch what yall did. Sad it ended there but I get it, hell of alot of work went into this stuff and honestly I think thats about as good of a punctuation mark you can make on the work, it was a good choice. Love it guys.
You know what's crazy? These guys made all of this insight and commentary on life through this show when they were just kids in their 20's. That's just genius man
Fuck... Gohan's transformation still brings me tears.... It's definitely the best anime moment for me, and its from a parody of all things. You guys can never undersell yourselves, not after this masterpiece. DBZA IS AMAZING AND WE WILL QUOTE EVERYTHING YOU SAID!
I've had and lost many loves in my life... This is one of those I'm lucky enough to have and hold for the rest of my life. This abridged series is special to me and it always will be. Thank you guys and everyone involved!

Y’all are so funny, you take up a fraction of my screen time. Keep doing what you’re doing. Love your whole team, no robo.
Watching the finale of DBZA gave me the same feelings I had watching the end of the cell saga back when it was on Toonami. Thank you for giving me back those feelings.
the fact that you guys made an abridged version of this amazing show and it's honestly on par with the original is ridiculous. You guys are beyond talented. 10/10

10:36 Kaiser, trust me: as someone who’s childhood was filled to the absolute brim and then some of waking up on Saturdays and Sundays with my parents blasting the K92 FM country station loud enough to wake me, had many days spent by the pool listening to nothing but country, and even to this day going over to my sisters houses and them playing strictly country whenever they have people over, I feel that hatred for country you and Trunks have DEEP in my core 😂
I would like to thank Team Four Star for all the hard work you put into making DBZA, you kept me entertained for many years and you guys still are keeping me entertained. It was a pleasure watching you keep getting better with every episode you made and i look forward to seeing what you guys come up with next after GTFS.
Just another comment to tell you how great you are, but also to tell you that you reached so many people across the world with your series and your humour. I'm from France and it became a pelerinage for my friends and i to watch all DBZabriged at least once every year and discuss it. You guy are part of our private jokes. Love you ❤
I'll admit, thanks to life stuff I mostly missed out on Dragon Ball, and even DBZA. But even as someone on the sidelines, your work is so wonderful, how much love you put in to it shows in every moment. You all are so lucky to have found each other, to have made this wonderful fan series that touched so many people, and I hope against hope that I'll be able to find something similar.
The effort and love you put into this series really made it what it is. So many years later, nearly 30, and I still come back to watch when I need to cheer up. Love learning more about the creative process of this legendary work of art.
Man. Thank you guys for all the incredible work you do. Bringing back so much nostalgia from not only the abridged series but for og dbz. This is such a beautiful love letter to our childhood. It's funny, it's witty, and so well written and acted. Bravo, boys. Bravo 👏 you've more than earned all the success and accolades from all of your hard work. The work you put into it shows and I believe it's why it's so beloved amongst the internet. Always looking forward to what you guys do next individually and as TFS.
You guys singing "My Way" together brought some actual tears to my eyes. DBZ Abridged was such a wonderful undertaking of Comedy, Action, and Emotional story telling it's stuck with me since the day the first episode aired. Thanks TeamFourStar.
I've commented on the Gohan transformation in your version a few times before but there's one more moment that gets me so much every time and it's the goodbye speech from Goku to Gohan. It's exactly what he needed to say and what his son needed to hear. Those words, "I love you" (in the form of "that year in the time chamber training with you was the best year of my life") and "I'm proud of you", are what every son deep down needs, wants and strives to hear from their dad. Also the acknowledgement of "I realise now that you're fundamentally different than me and that's just fine, I love you the same either way." My dad has never said those things to me, to this day, and I think that's why this scene hits so hard for me. I don't want to read into things too much, but I assume at least one of you in the writers' room are in that same boat. (It's, unfortunately, a very common thing in our society - which is why I make a point of regularly telling my son I love him and I'm proud of him, even if he's still too young to even understand the words.)
That singing brought happy tears to my eyes, thank you all for such awesome content DBZA has been an important part of my life for a while now, i even got some friends who arent really Dragon ball fans to watch it and many days we end up having at least a quote from the series!
God, I honestly love seeing all 3 of you together in this. Watching you all just having fun and talking about this thing you worked on. Talking about how difficult some things were to work on, and then next second laughing your asses off. Despite how difficult this must have been to work on, you guys really made something unique and special together. I love all of this.
I miss this series so much. You folks brought such joy to my heart, such a comical dub for such an iconic series. I wish we could have gotten a buu saga
God I absolutely love seeing them literally geek out over their own jokes and their own writing, it really shows the dedication and passion they had for DBZA. The pride they have in what they made really shines through, and they deserve to be proud. They should be wearing crowns, not headphones.
watching these has been so pleasant. i have to say, i think we were all sad when DBZA was coming to a close but what i always hoped was you all stayed friends and it all ended positively. congratulations on everything and i sure hope there's more this group does together.
50:42 vegeta apologizing i think is such an underrated moment. Like I felt the history between he and gohan when he said that. I remembered vegeta desperately fighting against the ginyu force. And now here was gohan doing the same for him.
Aw, bless. Taka changing the words to 'did it OUR way' and gesturing to Lani and Kaiser was like Robert Plant at the 2007 Led Zeppelin concert changing the words to Kashmir to 'the band that led me to this place' and waving at Jimmy, John, and Jason. :)
In all sincerity, this proves why understanding the source materials, appreciating the source materials and even to an extent being even just a small fan can make something amazing. How many adaptations have been terrible because there’s no love of the source? Halo show, resident evil movies, that god awful cowboy bebop show? Imagine if a fan and someone who understands and appreciates the source material actually had the helm? Magic like TEAM FOUR STAR! thank you guys and gals for something so fun
These reactions even though I watched the original videos these are all compiled from are still so awesome to watch since you get to see how much love and passion Kaiser, Lani, and Taka put into this season.

I love the whole all of dbz. But this was a staple of the show. And I never knew I needed this(abridged) part of this show. I love and wish you could've kept doing this.
I've been watching you since you started DBZ abridged, over multiple accounts for years, stayed loyal through the entire year between episodes for the cell saga, felt bad when you guys burnt yourselves out on the Bojack movie. But I am just genuinely disappointed. You put so much work into DBZ abridged it's what made me stay for so long but I honestly feel like there's just nothing left. I'll always be a fan of tfs DBZ abridged but it felt like a punch to the gut when all the Buu bits together is the length of one of your regular abridged videos and now this. I loved you guys, I hope you can keep doing what makes you happy.

I watched the abridged series in my teens. I never watched the anime (I read the manga). To this date, the cell saga is my absolute favourite. When I think of DBZ, the actors I first think of are TFS. So awesome. I always loved the emotional parts and the comedy, just absolutely perfect. I was tearing up watching that finale and you guys sing it out, agh this whole series is just perfect. By far one of the greatest video series on the internet.
No matter how many times I watch the Gohan SS2 transformation and the SS Trunks transformation by TFS, always send chills down my spine... It's amazing.
Episode came out when I was stepping into a leadership role at work and hearing Goku giving that last pep talk to Gohan during the beam struggle really hit home because I could hear my own dad's voice in that speech. This show was fun, earnest, and hilarious. Thank you, TFS.
I always wondered why they didn't include Piccolo, Krillin, Tien and Yamcha's efforts to help Gohan at the end of his beam struggle with Cell. Even though they didn't amount to much, I remember it being a really touching moment where each of them reflected on how much they admired him for stepping up the way he did.

Interesting idea, but I think it's a lot more likely he thought Cell and Goku were 1st and 2nd, so if Gohan is supposedly the 3rd, that implies Vegeta is the 4th, and Vegeta doesn't believe he's weaker than Gohan (yet).
the drunken men rendition of my way is the best part of the commentary
A lot of people kept asking over the years about the Buu saga but honestly you guys ended it perfectly with the Cell saga (pun non intended but fully embraced). The ending is actually so much better than the OG material with Gokus goodbye, Trunks death and Vegetas rage, and Cells farewell.
You guys shot your Kamehameha, blew our socks off and bent it up to the stars. All of you
And Taka, you are an actor. And a fantastic one
So from the bottom of our hearts down to our Dragon Balls, we thank you for all your hard work on the writting, the syncing, the mouth flapping, the color correction, the cropping, the editing and the brilliant (and iconic) performances of these beloved characters that mean so much to us
Thank you
(Still want Buu though)
(Buu bits dont count but they help)
You really entered history with this parody. You made an impact directly or indirectly on so many people and the way we see and appreciate this show. It's because you really honored each character and each and every aspect of those characters. You really elevated the DBZ experience imo and added so much nuance and perspective on it. ✨✨✨ It isn't just your run of the mill anime with specific rules, it goes beyond that and (as you said) resonated with so many things and experiences of the real world.
Funny thing is, if Goku had aimed the Instant Kamehameha lower, he very well might have successfully obliterated Cell.
I like to think of a version of "My Way" but with iconic DBZA moments instead of Cell's perspective. It'd be called "TFS My Way but it hurts more".
Here we are, over a decade later, and y'all are still bringing us joy with DBZA in all new ways. Fuggin love y'all.
Honestly, that gohan scene still hits so hard i feel like im seeing goku go super sayin all over again, but it's SO uniquely gohan.
Comparing episode 1 to gohan’s transformation is just…night and day in quality.
I’ve had DBZA on repeat since you made it. Amazing project, you can really feel the love you all put into it
I’m so glad you guys were the ones to make DBZ abridged it couldn’t have been better thank you
I’m damn near a adult and it should not have have taken me multiple years to figure out the back door joke
I’ve binge watched EVERY DBZ PART OF THIS CHANNEL. DBZA, DBZKA, HFIL, Dragon ShortZ, DBSA bits, Buu Bits, Creator Commentary, YOU NAME IT, Multiple. Times. I wanna say about 3-5 times for everything. Y’all are so funny, you take up a fraction of my screen time. Keep doing what you’re doing. Love your whole team, no robo.
Perfect cell's Perfect musical Perfectly starting Perfect cell
Watching the finale of DBZA gave me the same feelings I had watching the end of the cell saga back when it was on Toonami.
Thank you for giving me back those feelings.
the fact that you guys made an abridged version of this amazing show and it's honestly on par with the original is ridiculous. You guys are beyond talented. 10/10
Whenever my life gets slow or dull i have a sip of alcohol and turn on TFS you guys are how i unwind and i love you for it. I hope to see more content from you all in the future dragon ball and otherwise
Yall carried my entire childhood
I always viewed Cell liking Yamcha as an extension of Cell's (and others) self-hate. Yamcha not being a part of Cell makes him not a target
My Way was goddamn beautiful, hope to hear a studio version.
I would like to thank Team Four Star for all the hard work you put into making DBZA, you kept me entertained for many years and you guys still are keeping me entertained. It was a pleasure watching you keep getting better with every episode you made and i look forward to seeing what you guys come up with next after GTFS.
The scene of Gohan turning SSJ2 brings tears to my eyes all the time. The feels are for real! You guys killed it!
I remember myself sitting with my friend, both eating junk food and watching abridged.. miss those days...
0:22 that you let him die?
Mr. Prefect Cell hit the Gohan button
He shouldn'ta did that.
It’s about time not judging, but I’ve been waiting for this video
You know there's a full Version of these Videos, right? You could've watched them over and over
@@rasoser1249 Kinda odd to not say where
@@sstanford1331 It's on the "Four Star Bento" Channel they made. Full playlist of them breaking down everything from each Episode
Really wish you guys would get the gang back together and Do the Buu saga and tackle the Super saga also. Not to mention the new movies also.
These reactions even though I watched the original videos these are all compiled from are still so awesome to watch since you get to see how much love and passion Kaiser, Lani, and Taka put into this season.
seeing LaniSWOLLtor. and TakaSWOLLTa.. you BOTH have helped me focus on my physique over the bullshit,, Thanks you 2!!
God that moment when Gohan breaks. I remember watching it in y'alls stream and it still gives me chills and brings a tear to my eye. It's just such a great scene and you guys did absolutely amazing with it.
You should really, really complety the buu bits into a full season man ... we really missed your vids
Dang, I was just going to listen to this in the background...
But you guy just absorbed all my attention.
Great show.
Dude no disrespect to the original voice casting for DBZ but I believe you guys sold it for me here. I wish you guys voiced these characters it’s so awesome especially the cut throat line delivery. ❤❤
I've been rewatchign the best of commentary and this releases while I'm watching Best of Commentary Season 3 Part 2
This ending is perfect you guys have no idea the hearts you have touched with such an innovative and creative series
I really wanted you comment on the "That's you" joke, I really love that one.
Just my yearly reminder that you guys absolutely have imposter syndrome, and that you made the best version of DBZ in existence. 🍻 ❤
Always love the commentaries 🫡
I love you guys. Thank you for making me feel a little less alone 💜
I love how cell moving sounds like he's wearing a leather jacket. Its a good sound effect, great job Scott!
I was lucky to be there since eps 1 and for 10 years I got to watch (with my YT friends) an amazing journey of comedy and love letter to all DBZ fans. I still draw a tear knowing its done and gone but the ending was some best YT entertainment I have ever witness.
PS: you ruined normal DBZ, I cannot watch it without you guys popping in my head XD
i love you guys and thank you for the content
Them signing is the first thing ive watchted to EVER make me tear up. Dbza was such a big part of my childhood with my and my older brother waiting every day for the next ep. God i miss then.
God, Tara's cell voice is as perfect as Lani as Vegeta
Taka's*.....stupid auto correct
This goes out to TFS....
To all of you guys, at the bottom of heart and soul I wanna thank you guys for the part of my childhood and teenage years you gave me... I remember back in 2012-2016 (highschool for me) waiting for each episode of both DBZ Abridged and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged... You guys gave me so many laughs and made so many different days of my life that I can't thank y'all enough for it, you guys even inspired me to a degree to do voices within my friend group (Ex. Being Alucard, Vegeta, Nappa, Imperfect Cell, Perfect Cell, Master Roshi, even a LSSJ Broly...) Now I'm not a voice actor by any means but because of you guys I was able to add to very comedic sessions of videogames via those voices and again I can't thank you guys enough for it... To this day I try to get people who haven't seen DBZ Abridged to watch it just to talk about it and have those laughs all over again... You guys are a WorldWide Treasure to the Internet, and pray nothing but good things to happen in your lives and to continue happen in your lives.
Thank you for your hard work, love, and dedication to make something so special to do many of us...
Thank you. Thank you for many years of love joy sadness and mostly laughs. You’ve made a difference in our lives. Thank you. We ate that horse.
You three singing “My Way” at the end was pretty satisfying; not gonna lie.
I watched the abridged series in my teens. I never watched the anime (I read the manga). To this date, the cell saga is my absolute favourite. Always loved Perfect Cell and Takahata's rendition of him, but honestly all of the versions of the characters done throughout are just perfect.
Don't tell them I'm the one that pointed out the ghosts of those 3 haunting the arena
Episode came out when I was stepping into a leadership role at work and hearing Goku giving that last pep talk to Gohan during the beam struggle really hit home because I could hear my own dad's voice in that speech. This show was fun, earnest, and hilarious. Thank you, TFS.
wut u say btwn the last "ME" and "HAAAAA!!!" is Everything
"i'm proud of you" Is a Saiyan "I Love You"
I always wondered why they didn't include Piccolo, Krillin, Tien and Yamcha's efforts to help Gohan at the end of his beam struggle with Cell. Even though they didn't amount to much, I remember it being a really touching moment where each of them reflected on how much they admired him for stepping up the way he did.
Cried when I saw this part as a child, cried watching this for the first time dubbed by you guys, cried just now watching you react! THIS WILL AKWAYS HIT
DBZA is my comfort show, I come back to rewatch especially the cell saga all the time.
I love how I binge the commentary’s just as much as I would binge the original abridged series growing up. It’s like every year I have a dbz phase and these people help contribute to my little dragon ball addiction. I love you TeamFourStar. Also the funniest thing to me recently is when Vegeta is like “isn’t that weird black man?” To mr.popo and he’s like “yeah almost as weird as what’s gonna happen if you call me that again.” Lmao
"WHAT IS HE??"
Gohan's transformation.
To this day I can't believe the absolutely fantastic work you guys did.
"Gohan is 11!" I love that passion
I sing Cell’s version of My Way every single day since I’ve first heard it, whether it be in my head, or out loud, it always makes me feel dignified.
Best show ever (re)created!!!! Watched it through at least a dozen times!!!
