    What an absolute bummer that Oppo isn't releasing this to the global market, like come on, Huawei was the only Chinese OEM to ever release their foldables to the global market

    2:28 I totally agree, would be nice if they did make a OPPO Find X Mini
    🗣️NO CUTOUTS, PUNCH HOLES AND NOTCHES!📌
    I want to buy the First OPPO Find N, the design looks way better, yeah it will be heavier but I use to own a ZTE Axon M so I know what to expect🤷🏿‍♂️
    The prices are way to high they got to cut it.

    Only problem is availability.

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M
      @PSYCHOV3N0M ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not even.
      The problem is software features.
      Samsung still blows everyone else out of the water when it comes to software features for foldable phones.

  • @RanenPo

    2:46 I agree. I hate how all new screens are a stupidly elongated aspect ratio, like 19:9 or more. Aspect ratios closer to 16:9 on phones are great, because the width allows square-ish content like pictures to be displayed larger because there is physically more width available, while if you are reading something, you can display more words on a single line without having it spill over to the next line because the phone screen is too narrow to display everything.

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M
      @PSYCHOV3N0M ปีที่แล้ว

      Screen size and aspect ratio are two completely different things. Don't confuse the two.
      16:9 phones are outdated.
      21:9 is basically the best for phones because you can read more of a website and scroll less. You can watch 21:9 movies with zero black bars. You can play games with better visibility on your left and right sides.

    • @RanenPo
      @RanenPo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PSYCHOV3N0M Yes and no. On a 21:9 display you can fit more lines of text because you have more vertical height. On a 16:9 display you can fit more text PER line because you have more horizontal width. 16:9 feels much closer to the feel of actual books.
      Sure you can watch 21:9 movies with no black bars, but most people are watching video content that is NOT 21:9. Most videos WILL have black bars.
      Sure games on a 21:9 phone will have better left and right visibility. But conversely, the height in landscape is reduced because the phone is long rather than wide, meaning on-screen elements actually render smaller than a comparable phone with a squarer aspect ratio.
      Just compare a 6.5" Sony Xperia 1 IV with a 6.4" Samsung Note 9 for instance. The Xperia, despite being technically the larger screen, is only 71mm wide. The Note is 76.4mm in width despite having the "smaller" screen. The extra width means in portrait, you can fit more text onto a single line without overflowing. And in landscape, on-screen elements will be larger because there is more "height" from the bottom (left) to top (right) sides of the phone.
      21:9 might work for YOU but it certainly isn't optimal for many other people.

    Until most of the Chinese foldables decides to go global, I'll probably hold my wallet. Also would it be wrong if I want this to be 8 inches?

    the best reason i can find for a foldable phone would be to port edk2 uefi to it, make drivers for windows 11 arm and dual boot windows 11 and android. This way you have a big screen when using windows.
    This has actually been done for both windows surface duo phones, but they're weird and have two half screens separated
    I also have a windows dual boot on my own phone, poco x3 pro which is the best phone for this at the moment

      "big" is relative.
      There was a time when the original Galaxy Note was considered HUGE.
      Now look at where we are. Most people love large screen phones.

    If I am expected to pay 1000+ for a foldable, I want the bells and whistles. Why they didn't add an IP rating and protection, and also haven't added a desktop mode (like Dex for example) is beyond me.
    At least Samsung is giving us all that PLUS S-pen support.

  • @PSYCHOV3N0M
    @PSYCHOV3N0M ปีที่แล้ว

    4:09 Z Fold series has this same exact problem on the internal display.
    I've said it before and I'll say it again:
    The inner display on all non-clamshell foldable phones available to buy all have garbage aspect ratios.
    Galaxy Flex S is what a foldable phone SHOULD BE.

    An underscreen camera would also be great for video calls, so you can make eye contact while looking at the person. More of an issue for larger tablets and laptops, however.

    A very good phone and a very good hardware. Hopefully the Software really good as well because some reviewers said that the OS not as good as One UI at Samsung Fold. Hopefully Oppo will do better about this one. 👍

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M

      One UI continues to wipe the floor with all other foldable phone manufacturers.
      I'd rather have the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 but One UI is very damn good.

    The square aspect ⬛️ in 4/4 of this Oppo once unfolded means that it has no interest in my opinion.
    No waterproofing, no wireless charging, $1100 in China so surely around $1400 - $1500 outside China...
    Also, how can we achieve this level of engineering without thinking for a moment about the positioning of the speakers which is a nonsense, not to mention that of the power button / fingerprint and the volume button positioned too high and not ergonomic at all (regarding the positioning of the buttons, it is valid for the Samsung Flip 4) 🤦🏽‍♂️
    The Honor Magic Vs (the version with the pencil) is currently the only one that can really compete with Samsung's Fold 4, this Honor is currently perhaps the only Fold to have almost ideal external and internal screen proportions .
    The Oppo Find N2 with its too wide external screen is equivalent to superimposing 2 iPhones 6 Plus, seriously it's neither ergonomic nor practical for one-handed use.
    Ps: I remain convinced that all these Folds should have a screen like the Oppo Find N Flip's exterior screen next to the rear photo sensors.

      Wireless charging uses the same phisics principal you use with electric stoves, it's extremely wasteful : 40% of your electric energy is converted to heat...
      This is a dumb technology, are we really too lazy to plug a cable ? they should convert that budget on our phones into bringing back the sd card and headphone jack.
      Unless you get captured by aliens and they don't have usb-c cables to charge your phone, this is pointless

    • @rolins3279
      @rolins3279 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jbrimbelibap Personally, I'm not a fan of wireless charging, and I actually would have preferred a jack, an ir blaster and an SD card slot, but they haven't been around for quite a while unlike wireless charging, which today is a feature of high-ends.
      On the other hand, this is not the only lack of this Oppo that I had to mention, or it was for you the easiest to defend in fact 🤔.
