Judaizer: It's a label-and-dismiss thing that people like to do to negate any meaningful considerations that might be put before them.
It's easy to be swept up into such habits, something that's long been used to shun or deminish people or groups.

Judaizers believe in circumcision, and that Christians must follow all the laws of Moses to be saved. Isn't that what it says in Acts 15?

Christ fulfilled the Law and saved us from the Law which meant death. His removing of the yoke of bondage of the Law is because God loved us. If you keep the Law of Moses you will lose your grace.

    Hosea 13:7-16
7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
10 I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
15 Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the Lord shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

The concept is so simple that the only way someone can misunderstand it is if they're deliberately doing so. The Judaizers were Jews who were teaching that obedience to the Mosaic Law (i.e., formally converting to Judaism) _in addition to_ having faith in the Messiah is the way of getting saved. The biblical position is that we are _first_ saved by faith in the Messiah and _then_ we keep the Law because we love God and His commandments. The former taught works-righteousness, the latter teaches faith through grace. It's that simple. Mainstream Christians throwing around the label "Judaizer" don't know what they're talking about.

Most Christian’s that call others Judaizers do understand what they’re saying. There are some that would agree with the point you’ve made in saying that we are saved by grace through our faith in Christ alone but then will say that we need to now follow the laws of Moses and celebrate Jewish holidays in order to maintain or continue in righteousness. But that’s not what was decided by the apostles in Acts 15 when they held a meeting concerning the matter of if we should follow the law of Moses or not. The only thing that was decided among the apostles after they debated this topic was that gentiles 1. Obtain from sexual immorality, 2. Don’t eat food offered to idols and 3. Don’t eat food with blood in it. But they never said that we are to go back to following the law of Moses or celebrating holidays

@@lawlesseternal3147 No, most Christians don't understand what they're saying, just as the OP pointed out. It's akin to saying "I don't think gays should be allowed to get married on the basis of scripture" and then being called a homophobe purely be citing objectivity. Same thing here. There's over 20 verses dictating that the commandments should be kept in the NT. Torah, the very thing that states what is sin says that if anyone teaches against it, then they aren't to be listened to and are a false teacher/prophet. So if that's the case then did Jesus teach against it? If he was sinless, then he didn't. Did Peter? Paul? John? What about the church? You yourself are currently arguing against it. Here's one passage in particular that stands out and yet is absolutely ignored in lieu of the false doctrines of the church.
      1 John 2:1-6 (ESV):
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:
6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
As an aside, I do find it interesting when folks always cite Paul for an excuse to be lawless while he was the only apostle to come with a warning from others specifically detailing what the current issue is with most Christians...
14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

His laws will be written in our hearts (Read Ezekiel 26:27 Hebrews 8:10, Hebrews 10:16). These heretics/ modern Judaizers haven't received the holy Ghost, so they're trying to earn their inheritance, but our inheritance is solely by grace through faith. @justincase1919 if we look at Christian history it's obvious the church early on stopped demanding Gentile converts to observe the entire law of Moses. Like pretty much during Paul's lifetime. The generation after Paul already weren't keeping the entire Torah. Are you saying that though scripture says "the gates of hell will not prevail against the church" that they did as early as the first century? Because if the church stopped observing the entire law sounds like you think that's evil? So if the church stopped observing the Torah like you do, do you actually think that the gates of hell prevailed against the church?
Which church fathers after the apostles told believers they must observe the entire mosaic law? I'm genuinely curious.

  • @K5RTO

Why do you not just say that most practicing Christians have it all wrong and are living in sin for not observing the Torah? Are you not making the argument that Christians who do not practice certain observances of Jewish Holy days, and other lesser laws are living in sin? Willfully sinning against God? How can one be saved if they are in a state of willful sinning? By this logic, those who don't practice Torah as you do are apostate and in a damnable state or were never saved to begin with. They are unsaved by Grace through Faith or in danger of losing their salvation. Personally, I practice the Ten Commandments and the commandments and teachings of Jesus, our Lord, our Savior. I keep the Sabbath holy with personal sacrifice although do not observe dietary restrictions associated with Judaism. I also keep everyday as holy as I am able, being imperfect as I am. I am not intimate with those things (idols of wealth, entertainment, pleasure), ideas (music, movies, culture), and those people (non-believers, aside from witnessing) that are unclean (sinful) that I may not be tempted. By being saved, I behave as though I am set apart by He who saved me. I've noticed, mainly though YT recommendations, this growing movement of Judaizers among young men in America. At first, I was curious. Then, after seeing some begin to fall away from the faith and into denying certain epistles for not being clear enough about the supposed mandate to practice Torah. I became deeply troubled. I did what the bible commands and began to search, test, and discuss with other trusted brothers. I concluded, Idolizing Mosaic Law as you all seem to be doing is a dangerous heresy and will lead many astray from the purity, and simplicity of Christ's sacrifice and teachings. God's ways are not man's ways. He made it simple for our small minds to grasp, leave it up to a bunch of men to add layers of unnecessary complexity. Praying for you all. Peace will come when you are right with Christ, not when you have perfected your practice. The Lord knows all about man and his attempts at perfection.

I completely agree with you. They keep saying that they don’t act like judiazers but their worship of the law God have to Moses surpasses the real purpose of the Torah. The Torah was given to limit their transgressions and to point to our need for a savior.
The message of the gospel is that we become righteous through Jesus’ sacrifice. The Holy Spirit grants us righteousness, not because we did anything to deserve it. We don’t receive the gift of grace so that we can work for our own righteousness as we try to keep the Torah.

smh - It's our Father's set-apart appointments, not "Jewish holy days". Judaism is a religion based mostly on Talmud. What Moses wrote, Yah Himself told him to write. Why would our Father take His people out of slavery and put them right back into slavery with a law that you consider bondage? That makes no sense and makes our Father out to be sadistic. Read Psalm 119 - His Torah is truth, freedom, life, good, perfect, beautiful, as stated by the Psalmist over and over and over in the longest chapter in the entire Bible! The ONLY Word/Instructions Yashua followed was Torah and then He said that He couldn't do anything other than follow His Father's instructions. He ran off satan by saying, "IT IS WRITTEN!"
I don't practice the religion of judaism. I don't practice the pagan rituals in christianity. I do my best to keep the ONLY set of instructions Yah gave to His people - TORAH. And BTW, I HAVE studied it for the last 3+ years and there is no bondage or anything like judaism or paganism in His instruction. No where does He say that keeping His Torah is the way to salvation. He only ever said that if we are in covenant, IF YOU LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. [btw - There are 1050 commands in the NT and they are all based on Torah]

@@marieschryver7096 The Bible itself calls the law bondage and death. The Gospel is the law of liberty. Paul was also greatly troubled that he may have worked in vain as some were reverting back to the Torah. The law was given to highlight the depraved state of man. Since Yahushua-"Jesus" is our New High Priest after the Order of "Melchizadek" and IS the only Sacrifice that can really forgive sins the "Works" of the Torah-or "Book of the Law" is no longer binding on the Baptized/converted follower of Yahushua- We can not serve 2 Masters- either you have faith in the Sacrifice of Yahushua being for all time, or you follow the "Works" of the Levitical priests. The Sabbaths, Ten Commandments were part of the Covenant and are part of the New Covenant given by Yahushua- "Jesus". The "Book of the Law" was on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant in a pocket. Torah:
Torah (תורה) in Hebrew can mean teaching, direction, guidance and law. The most prominent meaning for Jews is that the Torah constitutes the first five books of the Hebrew Bible (also called the Pentateuch, 'five books' in Greek), traditionally thought to have been composed by Moses.
    Judaizers:
The Judaizers were a faction of the Jewish Christians, both of Jewish and non-Jewish origins, who regarded the Levitical laws of the Old Testament as still binding on all Christians.
Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last ONLY UNTIL the coming of the child who was promised. God gave his law through angels to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people.
    Galatians 3:19
These Law keepers don't take into account that all of God's Laws, Instructions, Rules, Regulations, Ordinances, and Statutes are not directed towards all mankind throughout all the ages. They use the word Torah only to mean God's Law. God's Laws are indeed written in the Torah, but it's much more than a set of Laws. The Law keepers don't differentiate between God's Moral Law, the Ten Commandments, and Moses Law. They just lump them all together and say God's Law or Torah. They claim to keep all of God's Law, which is impossible. The Law of Moses was only imposed on the Israelites. They couldn't even keep them. The Law of Moses was enforced UNTIL Jesus Fulfilled, Accomplished, Completed it's intended purpose. Law keeping was also called "Works of the Law". If the works are Completed, what is there left to do? The Israelites were constantly doing works of the Law in order to be made right with God. The modern day Judaizers are attempting to do works that have already been completed by Jesus. They say that they don't keep the Law for salvation reasons, but out of obedience. To whom? The Mosiac Law was specifically for Ancient ISRAEL. The Law keepers are making what Jesus has already done nil and void. Those Laws, Rules, Regulations, Ordinances, and Statutes were only good UNTIL the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you believe in Him and the Works that He Completed, then you will be made right with God. Do not listen to the modern day Judaizers. God's Moral Laws and Ten Commandments are eternal, but the Law of Moses is obsolete and have passed away. Thank you Jesus for Completing the work that You were sent here to do.
I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

Not sure what the history is with regards to your sect being called Judaiser..., but what I believe the scriptures have revealed is that many of the things you subscribe to would be the shadow of Whom has come already. HE our King is the Sabbath Rest, He is the Unleavened Bread, HE fulfilled the Law, HE is the Son, Messiah, Healer, Rabbi, Prophet. In Him we find refuge.
