I was in car accident at 17, in coma for 5 days, nothing. Had open heart surgery at 54, heart stopped for 66 minutes, had NDE and it was heavenly, didn't want to come back but had to, was told I was going to help a lot of people less fortunate in the world. It's been hard because the people I help don't always appreciate it, but I can't stop or quit, it's my purpose now. God bless!

I broke my back a few years ago and had to have a double fusion surgery on my spine. During the surgery I flatlined and had the out of body experience. I can still remember the serial number on the back of the light used for my surgery. After they unsuccessfully tried to revive me the doctors put me on a Steel table and put me in the hallway. I’m pretty sure I was on my way to the morgue because when I did come back, the doctors and nurses were arguing about who was gonna tell my family. I’m not going to talk too much about what I saw but all I know is after I told my neurosurgeon, who performed my surgery he wouldn’t see me again. I had to go back to his office after I got out of the hospital and he wouldn’t even look at me. The afterlife is real but most importantly GOD IS REAL…

I can't believe that most doctors and surgeons refuse to believe all the stories that they must hear after years of experience? Surely they must know about It? Is it almost like it's a conspiracy to keep a lid on it? And what about all the nurse's?

I had a psychology teacher at ASU tell of his NDE. It is one of a few lectures I remember. It was a wild story that made me a believer in near death experiences. The classic tunnel of light story after a car wreck when he was a senior in HS. He was pinned under his vehicle and came to when the lifted the vehicle off of him. He was pronounced dead on the scene and was under the vehicle with a wind wing pierced through his back for over twenty minutes. He scared the hell out of the firemen when he rolled over and screamed. He was able to tell his friends the details of the scene looking down from above. He said he did not want leave the place he was at but felt himself being sucked back into his body. Knowing this I hope to find apprehension rather than fear when I face death having now started the journey of walking with our Lord Jesus Christ.

@eternalsleeping lol your ego hurts you more than reality does, pretending like something you don’t understand couldn’t possibly exist. Why do you watch clips you don’t agree with or believe just to be negative ? Seems like you can’t help but to seek people with different thoughts and beliefs just to try to convince them to think like you and not believe anything. Then attack a persons thoughts or experiences with your emotions because you can’t prove that it never happened or that it’s not real. If you’re an atheist then why not go to another atheists video or something you agree with rather to actively seek things you don’t believe and then attack the people who do believe. Sounds like an internal problem.

He then went for a walk around the ER and then came back to his room. This is when he was revived. Believe me, truth is much stranger than fiction.

I told them exactly what happened and they were in complete shock that I had just explained what I saw to these surgeons. It was the most beautiful experience and I now know what comes afterwards and I’m not scared to die now. You do go somewhere and it’s just pure love.

I will try to explain it in terms you can understand. In 1996 my wife went into labor with our 3rd child. It was stillborn dead. Black and dead. A knot tied in his umbilical cord medically dead. Unalive. They took the dead baby away. We were destroyed and after about a minute something happened to my wife. Blood hit the floor and and the doctor yelled for a nurse. He told me to get out and go pray for my wife and son. I did not know what to do. So I went to a waiting room and cried out God help me. My wife died in the delivery room. Medically dead. Deceased. She was dead. Left her body and met God. And His name is Jesus. She said His face shown with so much power that she could not lift her face to see it but her spirit knew who He wad. It cannot be denied. But she was able to see His hands. They where shining like light and they had nail prints in the hands. He then showed her where her family was , she saw me praying for her, told her some things that would happen in the future. Then He told her that she had to come back and that she still had things to do. She said no that she was in to much pain back here. And He said that she would be. Okay. And then He sent her back. After about 45 minutes ta nurse came and got me

A transformative journey led me to a pivotal moment where Divine Intervention changed the direction of my life. A severe migraine became the catalyst for my decision to cease drinking a 1/2 gallon a day cold turkey. This choice plunged me into a week of intense withdrawal symptoms, known as delirium tremens, where I encountered visions of the so-called "Hatman," which tested my spirit. In this trying time, I felt a divine presence of the Virgin Mary affirming the value of my soul.
The ordeal continued with another week in the ICU, where, amidst a manic episode, I found myself escaping the confines of my room, only to be gently guided back by my family’s comforting embrace. What I believed to be a late Thursday evening was, in fact, a bright Friday afternoon-a humorous twist to an otherwise harrowing experience.
Reflecting on these events, I’m filled with gratitude as I approach a milestone of four and a half years of sobriety, coinciding with my 33rd birthday. This journey serves as a testament to the belief that anything is possible and that a higher power watches over us all. Peace, love, and blessings. 🕊❤🙏

Thank you, Shawn! What a great episode! I had a NDE when my Son was born.....I knew things that happened in the operating room that I could not possibly have known.....like, both surgeons took their masks and gloves off and were having a conversation over my bleeding body, after a Caesarean Section..... Doctors NEVER REMOVE THEIR MASKS AND GLOVES BEFORE SEWING A SURGICAL PATIENT UP....one that is flayed open after incision! They pulled my Son out and shortly after, I coded.
I watched the Doctors remove their masks and gloves, all my attention on my newborn Son.....my only concern was his well being and safety. I don't know when I returned to my body, but it was sometime before the next morning.... I remember being in my hospital room, breastfeeding my young son.

I am a 'rational-minded' British man, now age 40, and I have had 2 Out of Body Experiences and various Lucid dreams states throughout my life so far. These experiences changed my opinion about consciousness because during these experiences i could perceive things in a different location and thereafter I could verify it was real. I sometimes question whether it was an hallucination but considering these experiences felt more real than my current waking reality , and the fact I witnessed things whilst my consciousness was seemingly separated from my body, makes me think I am wrong about the hallucination theory. It must have something to do with the "non-locality" of consciousness , so to speak, and quantum states. I am not sure we will ever understand , but my experiences were literally out of this world, and I hope I can have more.

A segment from 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within'...
My new understandings of what many call 'God -The Holy Spirit' - resulting from some of the extraordinary ongoing after-effects relating to my NDE...
Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave.
The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist.
For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is.
Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment.
The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing.
The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence.
The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists.
Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’.
On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication.
For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything.
NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.

Just for clarification, people have reported similar percentages of good/bad/mixed good and bad NDEs regardless of their religiosity, or their lack of it. This is very important to note so that certain religious groups don't use the phenomenon of NDEs to push their own dogmas.
I also ponder why most people reporting NDEs state that they are given a "choice" of whether they are allowed to return to their earthly lives, or to remain in the afterlife. Many, many people die at a time when they are desperately needed in this life. Why are people experiencing NDEs given a choice in the matter when so many others aren't?
Finally, it is noteworthy that the vast majority of people near death don't have these experiences at all. Why?
I am not trying to debunk NDEs. They represent a genuine mystery and I am glad that doctors and researchers are taking them seriously. I am just saying that _all_ aspects of NDEs should be studied before we come to the conclusion that they are a true glimpse into the afterlife.

It's important to differentiate authenticated NDE and what people report. Based on authenticated NDE, there are many common overlapping experiences. As far as religiosity, that would prove a personal God, who knows our heart and soul.

I'm not understanding how one determines which NDEs are _authentic,_ and which are “mere reports”. Could you be a bit more specific?
As for religion, both Christians and Muslims believe that only members of their faith go to heaven, while the rest of us go to hell. NDEs paint a totally different picture.

@valerielhw Authenticated NDE has been confirmed by factual statements. Anyone can say they had a NDE. Not everyone's experience can be authenticated/confirmed. Based on authenticated NDE, there are overlapping experiences that point to Biblical verses. God doesn't judge based on someone's religion. God loves everyone, and only God knows each person's heart and soul.

Hate to break it to you, but the Bible is not scientifically accurate. In addition, many statements in the Old Testament prove that the Bible is not _morally_ accurate, either. So, NDEs based on "Biblical verses" are no more significant to me than NDEs based on verses in the 'Book of Mormon', 'The Koran' or other religious texts.

I do give you credit for not preaching that non-Christians will face eternal torment. That puts you light-years ahead of most Christians, in my opinion. I will say that, regardless of the evil that one does in this life, no one deserves *eternal* punishment for *finite* crimes.

In my early 20s, I had an out-of-body experience. Prior to this experience, I was severely depressed. I had no idea what I was feeling. This was before the internet and cell phones so getting information was hard to come by. Anyway, one night after having a panic attack I laid down and shut my eyes. The moment I knocked out a bright light lit up. But this wasn't any light and it wasn't a dream. It was a knowing. I didn't see a being or hear voices, only the light but the light was giving off these rays but it was mostly the feeling behind the light. I just knew I was in the presence of God and the best part was I was totally conscious of it and I remember I kept thinking "I can't believe this is happening to me." I felt so special and so privileged that I was in this presence. The light kept rising then it moved forward and tapped my forehead. I woke up and sprung to my feet and just froze in complete disbelief. I'm 49 now.:)

    Suicide and Why?
I have had so many people ask me why he or she committed suicide.
    Now I will tell you.
It is a space, a space where no one else can reach you. It is the emptiness of all emptiness'; it is depression.
I had a million things to hold on to, but nothing could fill the space of time. You can hear yourself laughing, and you can feel yourself smile, and your everyday experiences just keep rolling by.
Did I brush my teeth this morning? Did I fill the car with fuel? Did I say goodbye to the children? Did I forget something on my shopping list? What did I forget?
I had planned to have tea with my friends. But nothing seems to connect. It is just a space within a space. It is not that we forget. It is just time. You never know when it will happen again, and you don't know whether it will ever stop, and you pray to God that it will end quickly.
You think of a million of things that would hold you here, and then all thoughts disappear, and once again, you are left with the emptiness of space. It is a space of depression of all time; it does not mean that we do not love our loved ones, and it does not mean we do not want to be happy.
It is a time frame of one second of one moment in time. I do know it is very hard to explain.
But I do know it is a sickness, and I know it is always with me, at all times, just waiting. And when there is no one else with us, we look to the sky for answers, but there is none.
We feel ourselves turning and twisting inside, trying to keep the thoughts away; sometimes, it is just like a flick of a switch, and a light comes in, and once again, we are ourselves.
People used to tell me that God does not forgive suicides. I can tell you they are wrong. There is always someone waiting, waiting for that one moment of time when we feel once more the time frame of life and death and all it holds.
I have heard that phrase many times; there is no other way to explain it when we say a moment of time; that is exactly what it is. I asked for forgiveness from our loved ones for not holding their hand a little longer.
Be not the judge, and you shall not be judged, for this is the beginning and not the end. Once again, we will journey through time. And find the place that holds us safely until, once more, we will return to the things we love and miss most.
To find a place of belonging and contentment, a place where we can forgive ourselves. But most of all, it is a place where we can return to our loved ones and try to help them understand the ways of suicide. Please do not judge us, and please forgive us.
    By Pam McCagh.

Then, I looked at my arms and they had golden forearm guards and I looked at the rest of me and I was completely covered in golden armor still falling fast. Then, I was in the hallway with roots all in the ceiling like I was underground and opened the old, wooden, circular door and inside was a giant, weird, medieval looking table with wooden, circular chairs.
