Not among their craziest and fastest, but surely one their most “intense” track. If you pay attention also to the lyrics you’ll see. Love bites deep on this one 💔

Liar was one of two songs composed by Miyako on Awakening From Abyss that was actually written for her other band at the time, 21g. The other song is Scream for Me and the lyrics for both were written by an American that went by the name Dr. U. I don't know anything about Dr. U other than Miyako knew him and asked him to write the lyrics. He might have written lyrics for other 21g songs but that is just speculation. I believe that Dr U is the only person besides Asami and Miho to write lyrics (Haruna and Asami cowrote the lyrics to Bravehearted which remains the only Haruna composed song which she wrote while she was in Destrose). Miyako did not become an official member of Lovebites until 2 months prior to the release of Awakening From Abyss but still contributed four songs plus the opening instrumental called The Awakening - the other two songs were Warning Shot and her first masterpiece Shadowmaker. The second and final 21g album was released about 6 months after Awakening From Abyss. Miyako was the only experienced composer which is why Miho brought in Mao to assist, especially since Miyako's permanence in the band was still up in the air for the first year of the band's existence.

They can be found on TH-cam. As A DROP OF JOKER songs: 'Panic Fuze' and 'Just a Liar'.
There is also a video on YT: On January 30, 2016, Miyako performs 'Panic Fuze' on an 8-string guitar during a demonstration of various guitars (6-, 7-, 8-string).
In 2013-2016, Miyako played in the band A DROP OF JOKER and was its leader. Miyako composed the music for the songs 'Panic Fuze' and 'Just a Liar'. Lyrics by Dr.U. These songs were originally written in the metalcore style. Because this is exactly the kind of music A DROP OF JOKER played.
'Panic Fuze' and 'Just a Liar' were included in the Album A DROP OF JOKER which was called 'My Re:Route' (Released: October 17, 2015).
On November 18, 2016, Miho, Haruna, Midori and Asami first appeared on stage as LOVEBITES. This music event was called "WOMEN'S POWER - Girls Band Next Generation" and was held in Tokyo. New all-female bands HONEY REVOLT, MAI YAJIMA, LOVEBITES, DISQUALIA took part in it.
LOVEBITES invited two more musicians for their performance:
- Sena (guitar support)
- Miyako (guitar and keyboard support)
I think Miho wanted 3 guitars for a richer sound like her favorites IRON MAIDEN.

Later, Miyako changed the arrangement of the songs 'Just a Liar' and 'Panic Fuze'. In the new arrangement, 'Just a Liar' became 'Liar' and was included in 'The Lovebites EP' (May 2017). 'Panic Fuze' was called 'Scream for Me' and was included in the LOVEBITES Album 'Awakening from Abyss' (October 2017).
*** A DROP OF JOKER announced the termination of its activities at the beginning of 2016, they gave their last concert on April 30, 3016. Miyako continued to be a member of 21G and began collaborating with a new band ( as support musician) , which later became known as LOVEBITES.
*** From 2014 to 2019 (simultaneously with A DROP OF JOKER), Miyako was a member of the band 21G. The final concert of 21G (featuring Miyako) took place on March 8, 2019, after which the band disbanded.
*** Asami (as co-writer) assisted Midori in writing the lyrics for "Dancing with the Devil".
@@GrayFox14 Thank you for correcting me on which of the two bands, A Drop of Joker and 21g, Miyako wrote the two songs. It does make sense that she would share songs from a defunct band (A Drop of Joker) than a band that was still ongoing at the time (21g).

when i go to a Lovebites concert, i don't expect haedbanging like Nemophila or action show like at Gacharic Spin or Band-Maid. That wouldn't fit to their music either. Apart from the fact that they do their 2 hour concerts in high heels. So nobody who criticizes them there would be able to play only one song. I don't even want to talk about running around.
The Heavy metal genre covers many different styles, whether it be slow and melodic ballads, symphonic and classical, power, thrash etc... The point is that lovebites don't just play 1 style, they do the whole genre and never disappoint, and have united all fans of the genre into one. How can you not love them. Simply put they are brilliant.

I bought it and it's well worth the money sent. They will be in Atlanta next year at Prog PowerUSA September 6th I believe 2024 but tickets go on sale here next month October 21 2023.
Lovebites is coming to America for the first time. On Sept 6, 2024 they will be in Atlanta, GA at ProgPower USA festival.
Not their most frantic but including songs like this bring in a more diverse fan base. Introducing more to the genre. IMHO. Can't go wrong either way. 🤘✌
This song is more in my wheelhouse as far as tempo and melody are concerned. I find the guitar feel more Gary Moore/Thin Lizzy era. Thanks for the reaction.

i have the blu ray and it is certainly worth acquiring! A brilliant concert, with excellent sound mix and high quality visuals. I hope they produce a similar release of one of the current series of concerts, which feature more tracks from the Judgement Day album.
Knocking on Heavens Gate was their first comeback concert in March this year (and first live performance with new bassist Fami).The set list featured many of their tried and trusted songs from the back catalogue (Holy War, Shadowmaker , When Destinies Align etc), plus 4 tracks not previously played live, including Stand and Deliver. They belted them all out of the park, as usual.

There are certainly several very headbangable Lovebites songs such as Shadowmaker, Break the Wall, MDO and more, but I agree that there is simply something magical about seeing them play. They do it with so much control, confidence and grace.
And I highly recommend you watch the stream of their latest concert, as long as it's still available. It's worth every cent. Haruna even performed a drum solo!
True Lovebites big fans and thank God the negative naysayer and haters are there. The ones who think they are better because they are just sitting on their nalgas doing nothing but complain. Don't know if you guys knew but this is an original composition of Miyako for her old band Drop of a Joker, but was never released till she joined up with Lovebites on the debut album "Awakening from Abyss

Lovebites is mesmerizing. Bands do the crazy stuff on stage when their music isn't good enough to keep your attention. Not so with Lovebites.

Simple maybe (and even then relative to their crazier tracks), but not simplistic. Lovebites don't do simplistic haha.
I was at Louder than Life last weekend and saw Hanabie and Babymetal. I was so pumped for each, and made my way into the pit at both shows to expel energy. Big fun! I will be even more excited for LOVEBITES, but that is not a mosh pit show. I will be moving for sure, and maybe wearing an adult diaper just in case, but no moshing at LOVEBITES, unless of course directed by Asami!
miyako has written this one for her former band "a drop of joker". it was called " you are just a liar" back then. miyakos solo on the infinite st is so awesome. nonetheless, haruna is the hero of this one for me. they all are so fabulous. btw: great reaction.

This is probably my least favorite song from them, which says a lot as it's still pretty good. It just one of couple of songs on the first album that isn't really Lovebites song and that was written for other project.
