Nagao is a fading flower who has seen his best day. Davis will beat him out.
Someone needs to teach him how to sprawl. He was looking for the scramble and got torched by doing that all year.
Let's not write him off just yet!
Davis should RS next season. Could be a three timer?

That is one tough lineup. Kasak was supposed to redshirt last season, and now got his feet wet with a tremendous year. So he may end up like Zane and be a 3x champ after coming off his redshirt year. PSU is Loaded.

IF Carter goes up to 197, Marisola will redshirt. With Kasak, or Davis, along with Mirisola redshirting, that's a great leadership team coming back with lots of experience.
Its offical Beau Bartlett is coming back at 141 for 2024-25
One down. Two more decisions to go.
Nagao might as well hit the transfer portal.
Don't count him out just yet.
Carter is coming back I believe and will be at 184
I will lay out my line up then explain why:
125: Davis/Lillidaul (wrestle off)
133: Nagao /Gibson
141: Kasak (If Bartlett doesn’t return)
149: Kasak (If Bartlett returns)
157: Van Ness

174: Mesenbrink
184: Barr/Rider
197: Aarons #2 guy can’t remember his name/ Mirisola
285: Mirisola
125: I can see Davis winning the wrestle off against Lillidaul. I know Davis is cutting hard already but I think he will work through it one more year before he bumps up
133: Nagao had a disappointing post season but people forget how loaded 133 is and he was still winning high caliber matches sick/injured. Barring any injuries I think he will do tremendously well next season. Gipson being behind him this is a tremendous learning opportunity and should challenge for the spot in the 2026 season if he becomes more consistent
141: I honestly don’t think Bartlett will return. Between him Carter and Greg i think they are done with college and want to move on in their careers. Obviously stay in the same wrestling room but pursue freestyle or MMA. They are all pretty much world class anyway. That’s why I think Kasak is taking this spot
149: On the off chance I was wrong I think Kasak would take this spot because I’m fairly certain Van Ness can’t make 149 anymore. I think he would benefit from growing into this weight class
157: I didn’t say Mesenbrink because it wouldn’t make sense for him to cut down. He’s gonna get big and so is Van Ness. So I think Van Ness will have this spot after a wrestle off with Sealey
165: Haines. Obviously can’t cut the weight anymore he needs to move up.
174: Mitchell makes the most sense at this weight class since he is growing and I cannot see Barrachla or Facundo beating him unless he decides to Redshirt
184: unless something crazy happens Barr has this spot without much issue
197: I feel bad because I don’t know his name but the guy that filled in at heavyweight but actually wrestles 197 he’s gonna be the guy unless Mirisola is just that much better
285: the other Mirisola should fill in nicely at this weight.

Very interesting take. Don’t think Davis beats Luke on their feet and that’s where Davis struggles…
Braeden has a better chance beating Nagao. But Nagao is more experienced so I’ll take him. Messenbrink is tiny for 157 so unless he grows overnight I don’t possibly see how he’s going to go up 2 weight classes and be fine. So he’s prob switching with Levi because as you said Levi is having trouble cutting the weight.
149 is SVN. Kids an athletic freak, might be injury prone not sure. Don’t see why he’d bump. Kasak redshirts (best for the team) and Beau competes at 141 for one last year.

I think he could make 133….He just wrestled at 143.
Joe Sealey is another talent waiting in the wings. His time just isn't now since he wrestles around 157. But as we saw with Kasak, anything can happen and it is important to have depth.
Bartlett consistently said that he was returning.

Yes, Nagao is aggressive. Sometimes too much for his own good, though.
I expect Davis to redshirt and Nagao wrestles 133. Are we sure Lillidahl will make 125? He may grow. Hopefully for one year, then Nathan Desmond arrives. I don't see the Starocci doing that minimal scenario. Will Mesenbrink have the same tank if he has to cut to 157? It's going to get crowded in the next couple of years, especially when we get Jax and Bo Bassett. 😉
Similar situation as Davis. Lilledahl will start at 125 and then naturally move up a weight class of two.
Bo Bassett and Jax Forrest are insane.
Do we get Bo or Jax? I know they are in PA , and I know Bassett is all about PSU. But what are the chances we get either or both ?
