Moving forward, I will call you Professor Wade. I will tell you, not every person can grab my attention the way you do. You are an excellent teacher. This video came in handy, thank you!
The first minute of this was exactly the giggle I needed today. The rest of it was (as usual) the combination of inspiring, encouraging, and practically applicable advice that are exactly what I would expect from you, Wade....or from my dad. Thank you for the reminder that everything takes time--but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be editing and course-correcting along the way.
The intro was soooo me🤣🤣🤣 thanks for all the useful information you share. I literally binge watch your videos. A true God send... many blessings to you 🙏🏾🇨🇦
Hi from the UK 🇬🇧 and thank you 🙏 Loved this, so helpful and funny 😁 You are a natural presenter/speaker. You could easily run a motivational channel alongside this one 👍
"make sure you candle smell good as well" 😆 another great video! I love that you point out how important is the in person selling, something so simple but that is being so overlooked in the last few years for small business. Thanks for another great video!
I appreciate your videos. I have just started my candle business and fortunately, with experience in IT, I have created a site from the ground up using WordPress and woo-commerce. I am going big with 5 different candle lines/collections and a total of 93 unique candle scents. I am now creating video content for my TH-cam channel, and tic tok. I also have just signed up for Etsy and Faire. As I delve into marketing/advertising videos and SEO submissions, I am learning a lot from your videos. I appreciate all the valuable information you are providing.
Good day from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 😊. I love your new background…windmills are a super nice touch!! You are a terrific orator and very creative/entertaining to boot! I just wanted to let you know!!!
You did it again!! 👏actual helpful tips and not just another video to attract views and give the same information. I love the host-a-party idea :) Will work on it and I will start promoting my candles talking to my neighbors.
I watched your wick video (wow the what wick do I choose subject is intense) and your handwriting has drastically improved lol. Great video. I'm thinking of starting a candle business. Your videos are really helpful. Thanks!
Wanted to drop a thanks for all the info you've shared! Your channel has been a tremendous resource for me getting started. This was a great one, and the candle reviews are fantastic. Cheers!
Nice man got to say ive really noticed an improvement in your videos, and engagement, your speech and delivery is getting really good! I've just started a candle channel haha and realise all the small things you've done are really hard.. Good video :D
Awesome video. It’s nice to know I’m doing all the right things. Building a customer base takes time. I do have a few regulars. And I’m working on some markets for this year so hopefully things will change soon.
I have to rewatch and take notes! Thanks. Could you elaborate on how to hold parties/classes to boost sales? I have never been to one and holding a class seems a bit overwhelming-and I was a biology teacher that ran labs! Thanks again for all you do.
Exhibitor as in selling my products? Yes tons. Have done videos about them here on the channel. I'll link one below but there are others too. :) th-cam.com/video/qOwfoo1t7Gs/w-d-xo.html
Wade, two questions for you... Are you still in KC or did you move to Texas? What kind of budget do you recommend for advertising, either as a percentage of sales or some other metric? We have a goal of how much revenue we want to hit and I'm very comfortable with the COGS and ability to produce at volume but not sure how much to spend to convert to sales. Appreciate your thoughts!
Hey Mark. I'm not really a marketing guru, I just enough to be dangerous and then try to leverage resources. Lol. I think it also depends on the stage of the business. I think generally speaking around 5% is a good marketing budget plan. But... early on, I'm all about momentum, growth, and awareness so I'm not afraid of 10% - 20%. Or for a new product launch. So.. growth stage I spend a bit more to gain traction and reach then drop it back down. But not sure that's the best practice. Oh.... bad nope, never loved in TX. Still in KC!
@@BlackTieBarn thanks for the thoughts. My wife and I are very early stage... still doing the testing and samples for feedback. But as a business minded engineer, I have worked through so much on the scale up and growth plans to see where our potential revenue and profits might be. I just need for us to get the sales up to match the production capability I have mapped out. Already getting containers by the pallet tomorrow and the pallets of wax will soon follow. Haven't sold a candle yet, but we've been using a digi-boil after the first couple of dozen candles and planning on getting a second one. So I guess with that being said, we will probably start hard on marketing once we build some inventory. I asked about Texas because I saw someone comment on a previous video about you being near Waco. Perhaps it was a misinterpretation of the comment. I'd love to see your operations in person sometime. As a chemical engineer, I have some ideas on wax that I hope to share once I can get some traction. It's a concept that would need some help moving. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy your videos and we have leaned so much. I subscribed to help support this wonderful service you provide. Thanks so much!
I know this may not be relevant to this video, but I commented on one of your videos back in December and mention I was just getting into candle making, I think I have it down pretty well and am wanting to expand it into selling them as well, I am struggling hard core finding a label company that works good for me, I see most of them have a 100 label minimum, but I don't need 100 of the same labels at this point. And I would hate to buy 100 labels for ten candles. Any advice?
yes, my advice for now would be to order blank labels from onlinelabels.com and and then print them yourself until you are ready to scale and need more. Check this video out: th-cam.com/video/h_WqIo_wHGw/w-d-xo.html
I appreciate your advices, you are an informative person Wade. But I must say this: That bow image on your wall is not displayed with perfect symmetry ☝🙂
Hey Hari. Not sure what you mean. I just texted and worked fine. Have you already done the free trial recently before? I don't have access to anything other than the link they provide me. Your best bet would be just using the link snd then shoot them a contact message. Let them know what link you used and the video you got it from and they should be able to help you out! :)

Haven't really decided although I plan a course for sure regardless.
