@@JammKing-th7hl I agree to a degree but I much prefer other countries that skip a year before college to figure themselves out better. As well as this I really do recommend everyone have a second viable job they can do if they have time to learn the skills that way ur not permanently stuck with somthing. Imagine being told it's too late for college because you're 23. Should already know what to do at 17. Too old to start dating because you're 30. Waste of time to seek an education at 50.

This song is not exactly the precedence of depression, it’s something similar, but quite different.
It’s mostly because it focuses on the thoughts on what makes someone sad, or to wonder what makes themselves sad.

I'm 26 and I just started going back to school because of a free tuition program in Massachusetts for people 25 and older. But I think that college is not a measure of intelligence or success, i think i used to think that way when i failed out the first time. But everybody has their own paths to take in life, and there are still ways to be successful. Try to remember your worth and try to fight for your happiness, see where that can take you.

Same homie, I'm going back this year. I am 30. ITs never to late. I just started getting comfortable with myself, lost some relationships I needed to lose and gained some back I didn't know I wanted. I'm learning about myself. Still tired, anxious, ADHD and troubled. But I'm getting there. You will to. From another awkward 30 year old, song still describes me. But I'm working on it.

      I'm two days into Belgium,
      Building my defensive line.
There's this guy let's call him Britain,
He told me to move back past the rhine,
He doesn't sit me quite right,
But i just can't match his naval might,
So I just keep thoughtlessly throwing soldiers at the French lines in the middle of the Night.
I wake up under fire and I wake up really cold,
And I wake up in the mire and see all my food has turned to mold.
You see I don't like fighting france,
But i must Obey as I have been told,
      So i just shoot around,
      Keep my Head down,
And hope our lines will hold.
And Austria keeps telling me that I'm doing so well,
I try to belive him hobestly but it Is hard to tell.
If I need guns or I need bombs,
I try my best to remain calm,
      I tell my self,
      I say out loud,
It's fine i will figure it all out.
I tend to forghet my empire is quite young,
In a way this war of mine has only just Begun,
      I have got time,
      I have got time.
I'm two days into Belgium and I know i have crossed the line,
Cause that guy that we called Britain is now an enemy of mine,
My allies say I'm crazy that i took it way too far,
France was secret friend with Russia now I'm in a two front war.
Just two days into Belgium and my frontlines are a mess,
There's so much land i want to rule that I have not ruled yet,
There's so much lant i want to take and there's been so much death,
Paris is so far away it's easy to forghet.
Than all my useless allies think that I'm doing so well,
I try to see it hobestly this war is a living hell.
      If i've done wrong,
      If i've done right,
I need to rest after each fight.
      They said retreat,
      I said alright,
      I think I won't,
      Or maibye might.
I probably should just take it slow,
But battles rage and I must go.
But one thing that's important above everything else,
Is to learn not to trust Italy when the war drums start to swell.
I try belive it when I say,
If it's meant it happen I'll will happen anyway.
      I'll be fine,
      I've got time,
      I've got time.
      That's where i'm at,
      To be honest,
      Just two days,
      Two days
      Into Belgium.

Yeah epecially if you're going to apply to a super competitive grad school. You just meet someone super impressive, and think "That's one spot less", and then you hear everyone's doing what you're doing. I mean fuck, and everyone's saying you're doing good, but that means nothing at some point. Then you hear of some super crazy hacks that you missed out on. I mean fuck again, I know three people who got into top 15 colleges with mediocre applications through some stupid program and lying about their financial status. One person's parents had off-shore bank accounts. There's a famous story about it in China.
Two students are duking it out in their college classes. One is barely 10th place while the other is 1st. 1st place gets everything he wants, grinds his ass in hard-to-get positions, and eventually gets a respectable job. 10th place comes back from an overseas program, gets a great internship, and is given a management role, bossing 1st place around. 10th place had their parents set their path while 1st had to fumble around himself.

That line saying " I try my best, to try my best" hit hard. Sometimes, life in college can get overwhelming and it feels like you can only give everything 5%. You want to do your best and you know you can do better but it feels like your giving all you have.
If you choose to push through it and really try your best (giving more than what you think you can), you'll get through it better than ever and have more confidence that you CAN do it. And this applies to life and not just college.
Life can get tough, but we CAN do this!!!

    • @MystralThunder
      @MystralThunder 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

I mean, when you have 20 things to do.. then five percent is the best you're going to be able to do. You wouldn't blame a child for being unable to lift 200 pounds, would you? No, if you needed them to, you'd have them do it five pounds at a time, and do some of it on different days. Even then, it seems that child should never have to do those things.
Be gentle with yourself, but be firm.

    Tips for college:
    - Do community college first, then transfer to a University later. Your first couple of years will all be general education classes and classes for your degree that are very basic and any school will have, so do them at a much cheaper community college before transferring to the school you actually want and the credits will transfer with you.
    - Take as many classes that start later in the day as you can. Whether you plan to party or not, you’re still gonna kick yourself for taking early classes
    - Learn as much about the campus before school starts as you can. Every school gives tours of campus for incoming students, take one.
    - If possible, don’t live on campus. Look for any rent listings nearby, students will almost certainly be renting out a house and need another roommate. It’ll be a lot cheaper than the cost of the room and board you’ll have to pay when you’re done with school.
    - Speaking of roommates, you won’t like having them at first. Roommates can and will be frustrating to you, even if they’re very nice and get along with you eventually you’ll get tired of living with them. That’s okay, and you aren’t a bad person for not wanting to live with them after a while, just hang in there and remember the good things about them to help.
    - Try to meet/talk to as many people as you can. This can be at parties, but also just at clubs or in class, in your dorm building, etc. Most schools now will even have a Discord channel or something similar that you can join, same for the clubs.
    - If you DO plan to party, make sure that somebody knows where you’re going, make sure you have a plan for a ride back, and don’t drink anything you didn’t watch get served to you. Always keep your cup against your chest, if they have a “candy bowl” (bowl full of random pills) please please PLEASE do not take from that. Doing some drugs can be fun, but please do them safely.
    - If you have chances to visit home, try not to take them often. You’re gonna miss home, a lot. You’re gonna feel like your childhood is over, like your life is over, like you’re never gonna get to be home again, but that’s what EVERYBODY goes through. I promise you aren’t the only one, the less you run back home over weekends or days off the better. The best way to fight that feeling is to let yourself enjoy being away, let yourself stay at school as much as you can.
    - Remember to take a breath and remember: you’re doing okay. Sometimes it’ll be fun, sometimes it’ll be stressful. But that’s just life, college is giving you a chance to start learning how to tackle adulthood without leaving you to the wolves, so when it’s getting hard or scary just remember that you can push through, it WILL be okay.
    - Look up as many of your books online as you can, because almost always there are ways to pirate them. And don’t feel bad for doing this, the university makes a bunch of money anyway. Sometimes you’ll get a tenured professor who’s cool and will straight up list the websites you can use for free books, otherwise just look online and you’ll find something.
    - If you can get a part time job, do. Looks good on a resume but more importantly it will get you the cash to buy gas and food, and often times the school itself will have work programs that make sure it doesn’t conflict with you schedule.
    - Go do the things you aren’t sure you’ll like, now is the time to find yourself. You never know if you actually might like something, and if you don’t you always have the power to leave.
    - Remember that things are almost never as good or as bad as they seem at the time. This has already been true and will continue to be true for your whole life, the bad times will seem like the worst and the good times will seem euphoric and better than anything. Just remember that like all of life, you will keep moving forward and these things will eventually pass. The breakup will pass, the bad grade will pass, the hangover will pass. Do not be afraid to live because you might go through bad times later, it is the bad times that give the good their meaning. You need both sunshine and rain for the flower of your life to grow.
Edit: Okay, three things: 1. Yes, the first thing is very specific to the kind of major you want, try to find out what kind of classes you’ll need. 2. For many people college just isn’t worth it anymore, and that’s fine. You don’t have to go. 3. “Do drugs safely” -> Talking about weed and shrooms, gang. Don’t do hard drugs, but shit like that is common and very safe, safer than alcohol.

I agree with all but the first as a general rule. The experience and connections you make at a University are far more valuable than at community college and you should, if possible, not miss out on having/making those in the first couple of years. This applies double for STEM degrees (probably law and medicine, too, but those aren’t my experience), where extracurricular experience in teams and labs is invaluable to have even in the first two years. However, if you are daunted by University and want community college experience to get used to it, definitely makes sure the credits you are offered will transfer to your university of choice and that the course structure allows you to graduate on your intended schedule. For example, some course chains may take three years to complete that don’t have any comparable credits to your community classes.

“I am 3 years into high school
And I am stressed out of my mind
I am filled with paranoia, depression and anxiety
Scared of what the future holds
Scared of what I am leaving behind
Staying up pondering about the things that are holding me behind
I wake up kinda dead, I wake up cursing life
Go through the day on autopilot, go through the night in vain
You see I am over conscious, but I try to lie it low
So, I just float around and keep my head down and hope my life unfolds
And everybody’s telling me that my life just began
I try to trust the process, but seems perfection’s the goal
    If, this path’s right
    Need to survive
    I try my best
    To try my best
I tell myself, I say out loud “It’s fine I’ll figure it all out”
I tend to forget, there is much more to life
In a way I don’t need to confirm to it all
    I’ll be fine
It’s ok to live for yourself”

I always told them i just wasnt ready to make that kind of serious decision yet. Don't feel rushed to pick something or do things that people insist you should. Take your time. Im very happy with where i am and actually looking forward to what ive set up for myself now. Im much more stable and able to do things on my own.

This is beautiful. I'm sharing it with my youngest son. It took him a while to find what he wanted. He eventually got a job doing it and is in line for an apprenticeship, then 6 months ago he got a head injury. They love him, so have kept his job open, but it will put the apprenticeship off. He's 25 next month. We've encouraged him that life is going just fine for him, just as it should. It's helped him relax a lot, but I think he'll appreciate this.

I don’t know if anyone NEEDS to hear this, but the line in this song “everybody is telling me that I’m doing so well” is really just screaming imposter syndrome and as a 3rd year pharmacy student I’ve heard it and felt it as have all of my classmates I’m SURE. But, before I was a pharmacy student, I was a hopeful med student, and it didn’t pan out and it crushed me. Before that I was a masters student, and I failed a few tests and it felt like the end of the world. Before that there was undergrad and I was devastated when I wasn’t able to do what other classmates did and go into their professional school after just 4 years. I felt like I had failed, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. And it sucked. But…
Here I am, I’m on my way to doing SOMETHING I don’t know the plan to be honest. But I have friends and a fiancé and everything is working out. So, please, if you will listen to any word of advice, we mean it when we, your family friends and TH-cam Randos say you’re doing JUST FINE. You’ll BE OK! If you must, go ahead and beat yourself up all you want for you slip-up, but then you need to just dust yourself off and just keep going, and it’ll pan out. If it did for me, it WILL for you :) and good luck!

I did a lot of things. Some panned out, some where dead ends. My health got bad later and some stuff I had been working on was suddenly not an option. So much changes over time. @@Palafico3How so?
I understand that not ALL wants come true. But most do, don't they?
You want to play the piano? Get lessons. You want to work as a "___insert your dream job____" get an education! You want kids? You want a home and a dog? You want to travel abroad? There are always ways to make that happen.
In most countries, these are totally normal wishes that for most people come true.
But the thing about adulthood is, that some things can only come true if you are willing to handle the consequences they bring: Babies? Long sleepless nights. A house? Better adjust your dreams to what is possible for you. Travel the world? Well maybe work during your stay in, say, Istanbul.
But this is off topic. The video is about the crippling insecurity that most have around their twenties. And luckily, unless you f*ck up bad (drug abuse, prison etc) you will find your way for sure. :-)

@@mistapoli I know that phenomenon. Not surprising, if we are bombarded with requests from all sides all the time (parents, teachers, friends, our children, partners, jobs, commercials, etc)I myself had a long struggle with that. But psychotherapy helps a lot (it surely helped me) to find your own will again. If you do not want to do therapy, it also helps to actively ask yourself every time a bigger decision is requested from you, "do I actually want this?". Or once in a while in everyday life just ask yourself "What do I want?".
First you might not get an answer, but little by little some answer will come.
      Therapy is faster, though.
Also, you might lose some friends in the process (bc some people just like you bc you do not question their decisions or have "no own will" and are easy to convince),. But you will find better friends who respect your will and would not just fire requests at you. It's a long and winding road...
I hope for you that you will find that inner voice and have the courage to live according to it (because that is a whole other level, too). I managed after many years and now have the job I want (my passion. Little money but a joyful job), a happy family (not perfect, but happy) and I am so happy with my life and the people I share it with :-).

I’m about to turn 30, and this actually brings a tear to my eye. Because on the one hand, life does get better, but it also gets harder, the difference is that you’ll have your past experiences to inform you on how to make better decisions. That you might sleep more when you’re older though…well, I don’t think I’ve slept worse this year than I ever have in 29 years of existence, because of stress. But I don’t despair because I know I have what it takes to keep going, because I’ve already pulled through tough times before.

@tony757 30 likes cause your about to turn 30. 🎉. To be honest with you I am only 15 so your double my age. But it will get better, that’s what every old person says. And one thing you should always do is spend time with your family. Cause that’s the only thing you have left. At least while there with you unlike mine. But I guess that’s just life you keep have to keep pushing yourself though it even if it does get tuff. You got this!

The chords and vocals l are perfectly everywhere, loved the monotone in the 'I try my best' phase setting the tone perfectly. You hear the power of of voice and setting really matching, also with singing 'wired'. This song is beautiful, catchy, relatable and you can hear/see the humor for a bit. Genius!
