I put my basket in the dishwasher every time after a quick soak in hot water and it comes out clean without any issues ! Wings look good, I’m usually 45 - 1hr at 400 on my Napoleon gas grill, great way to make wings !!!
Hands down the best way to cook wings!! I live close to Atlanta Grill Company and they sold me on this method a few years ago and it’s the only way I’ll cook wings now. They have some excellent rubs there too haha every time I go I get suckered into buying a new bottle. Great video!
I own and Kamado Joe classic and most of the accessories but not the basket or the ICamad. Now I might go for a basket but we don't do wings but a few times per year. We do tons of chicken just not wings. So without the icamand you think it will work? I know much more monitoring work? I own both my Kamado Joe for grilling and a Traeger for slow and lows.
Great video...it's hard to tell, did you bank your coals? Also, did you not get dirty smoke by throwing in that fresh chunk in at the same time as the wings?
did you either brine or dry out the chicken wings in the fridge overnight or straight out of the package - oil and in the basket? Also what type of oil did you use on the wings before going into the basket? Great video by the way!
From what I’ve read it does but it’s tight. If you’re on FB check the Kamado Joe group and search for your question as it’s been asked many times I believe.
Napoleon has a blog with all kinds of cooking ideas on how to use this and their other product’s. The chef is very interactive and would comment back on ideas how to get the most from it. www.napoleon.com/en/ca/barbecues/recipe-japanese-wagyu-tasting-platter
Great method! Only thing I would change is I would use an oil with a high smoke point, like avocado oil. Olive oil has a really low smoke points and cooking it like that for an hour can give those wings a bit a of bitter taste. Just my opinion.
The dog wants some wings !!! It's nice to see someone cooking with out using an air fryer. The wings look like they tasted good. I hope the dog got a taste.
I have the kamado Joe big Joe 2. I love it. I need to get that basket its cool. I normally put the heat deflector on and lay the wings on the cast iron grates. If I use this basket I don't have to worry about cleaning my grates. How much lump coal did you use for the cook? I use Jealous Devil or Fogo Super Premium and they both burn hot as hell. Do they make a larger basket cause I need one that will fit like 50 wings in it?
Hard to say exactly how much lump I used but it’s not much just for 400° F for an hour. Be warned the basket is a pain to clean. I think I’ve done 40 wings before. The basket was packed but still had enough room to tumble. 50 might be pushing it. I don’t think Napoleon makes multiple sizes.
@@BreakItYourself No problem. Thanks for the advice. I was in New Orleans a week ago for the BBQ Expo and lots of new cool grills kamado and pellet coming out
I have tried this basket twice now on my Napoleon grill using the rotisserie burner and I just can't get the wings to crispin up. Ran at about 350-400 for a good hour and still very bland and not crispy. Any thoughts? I did coat with olive oil, then pulled off near the end added a wet rub and put back on, but just didn't really work for me.
I fell in love with cooking wings in my deep fryer, I thought it was the wing method that couldn't be beat. But just looking at these makes me think there might be some competition.
Great video! I’ve been looking at the Napoleon basket for a long time but I’m concerned about whether it will fit in the Classic Joe. Looks like you used it in a Big Joe. Do you know whether the basket fits ok in the Classic?
Works in the Classic II (18") - BUT...be careful with the wing nuts hitting the side. I saw a video where someone changed the wing nuts to hex nuts and that solved the problem!
Great video! Hate to be a back seat driver but perhaps using a painter's brush to apply the oil would be more efficient? I don't have a joe yet 🤞 so me commenting isn't probably right. Either way the video and all the accessories you have make me want to run out and get one. Lastly, is yours an 18 inches or 24 inch?
I have the KJ Classic II with the Joetisserie and the Napoleon basket. So far I used it twice cooking wings and each time the basket has opened up during the early part of the cook. I checked the front clasp that has the name Napoleon on it and it locks securely. Also where it connects to the two clasps in the back seats in position but doesn't snap in like the front. Any thoughts would be appreciated as to why the basket keeps coning apart?? Are the back two clasps supposed to snap in like the front??
@@andrewschuman1072 Thank you for the reply. I will give it a try as the Napoleon came apart with every attempt to use it. When I spnapped it closed, it appeared to be locked tight but fell apart shortly after beginning the cook. The "Fill it and Grill it" basket seems like a better design. Thanks again for your reply!!
I get my wings from costco. To limit exposure you can try to order some using insta cart. If you're not a costco member check walmart grocery for delivery. Thanks for watching and for the kind words! 👍
Break It Yourself thanks for the suggestions. I’ve never used instacart or online pick up for groceries but I will be moving forward. Costco is a madhouse these days. Thank you for the content, been a fan for a good stretch and am looking forward to new videos. Stay healthy and safe!
How did you attach your probe to your dome thermometer? (And eew so gross when you ate over the bowl of wings... like at least step away from the rest) 🤢
Disgusting, you eat right over the top of the bowl which is unsanitary…. Very hard to take you serious!!!! Although it can be argued that you have a RAW cooking point on your cooking methods, sanitary skills is really what counts.
LOVED her facial response at 7:10 "...too much lemon pepper?" LOL
Haha what can I say? I’m a huge lemon pepper fan 🤷🏽♂️
I was going to post the exact same thing HAHAHA. Not gonna lie I love me some lemon pepper too...
I put my basket in the dishwasher every time after a quick soak in hot water and it comes out clean without any issues ! Wings look good, I’m usually 45 - 1hr at 400 on my Napoleon gas grill, great way to make wings !!!
Probe placement was a Top Tip, thank you! Great video!
Good idea on putting the dry rub after. That way there's no chance of burning the spices on the rub either. I can't wait to try this!! Looks amazing!
Thanks for watching!

How did you attach your probe to the temp gauge on the lid? a photo would be great!
They look great! I couldn't tell, did you use the firebox divider and just have charcoal at the back?
I own and Kamado Joe classic and most of the accessories but not the basket or the ICamad. Now I might go for a basket but we don't do wings but a few times per year. We do tons of chicken just not wings. So without the icamand you think it will work? I know much more monitoring work? I own both my Kamado Joe for grilling and a Traeger for slow and lows.
Will easily work without the iKamand. Also I recommend the fireboard 2 drive now instead of the iKamand.
Does the grill basket come on the classic as well?
so does the basket and the electric motor all come together?
her face when he says you can't do too much lemon pepper 😂
How much chicken do you put in the basket to maximize space and quantity cooked?
Great video...it's hard to tell, did you bank your coals? Also, did you not get dirty smoke by throwing in that fresh chunk in at the same time as the wings?

What kind of gloves do you have on in the video?
How many wings fit in the basket in this video?
did you have the coals under the basket, or in the front and back of the basket?
Had them all banked in the back to avoid flair ups from dripping grease
I enjoyed the laid back tone of this video. Very entertaining 👍
Thanks! Being isolated has its perks I guess. Going to try to pump some content out over the next few weeks.
My KJIII classic is being delivered next week. Does the Napolean 64000 basket fit the KJIII classic?
From what I’ve read it does but it’s tight. If you’re on FB check the Kamado Joe group and search for your question as it’s been asked many times I believe.
@@BreakItYourself yes, I’ve got a classic and the napoleon basket fits, just!
Great tutorial and I'm a fan of how you go about your videos. My question is what else could you use the basket for?

tities
You could use a dab of olive oil when applying the rub, just to have it stick a little. Looks delicious
Great suggestion! And thanks for the kind words
I have a XL BGE could this work on this ?
Very cool. Yes Lemon Pepper is amazing on wins. Thanks!
Thanks, love the lemon pepper too. Don't know if you've tried the new Orange Pepper, great on tenders and wings.
Did you run the iKamand the whole cook?
how many wings can you do at a time and still have enough smoke and crunch?
Great method! Only thing I would change is I would use an oil with a high smoke point, like avocado oil. Olive oil has a really low smoke points and cooking it like that for an hour can give those wings a bit a of bitter taste. Just my opinion.
Great point! I'll have to try avocado oil next time
Who is your sink and tap made by??
will this basket fit the regular joe?
The dog wants some wings !!! It's nice to see someone cooking with out using an air fryer. The wings look like they tasted good. I hope the dog got a taste.
How many wings max in that basket?
Not 100% sure but I’ve gotten away with 40 before and it was tight.

Melt some butter, put a tablespoon or so in the bowl shake the wings add rub and shake again, sticks 👌
Well made video! Keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
May I ask how to clean it?
What's the advantage of the basket over laying them on the grill grate?
Even cooking and crunchy skin
Also in my basket I can cook up to 50 wings
you think the napoleon is better than the KamadoJoe original Basket?
Did you wash that chicken
Is that basket dishwasher safe?
Yes
How did you attach the probe to the dome??
that's what I'm wondering too
those OXO bowls are amazing. We have the same set.
Good eye haha
Is there a limit on how many wings you use at a time. Like 2 lbs thanks
there definitely is a limit but idk exactly what it is. I've done 50 wings before and it was tight but worked fine.
Has anybody used the Napoleon basket in a Weber grill, specifically the Summit E-470 model?
I have tried this basket twice now on my Napoleon grill using the rotisserie burner and I just can't get the wings to crispin up. Ran at about 350-400 for a good hour and still very bland and not crispy. Any thoughts? I did coat with olive oil, then pulled off near the end added a wet rub and put back on, but just didn't really work for me.
This is what concerns me too. I haven't been able to get anything close to deep-fried wings without, well, deep frying.
Pull the coals across the bottom and let the fat burn over the hot coals. After about 15 minutes they will crisp up.
I fell in love with cooking wings in my deep fryer, I thought it was the wing method that couldn't be beat. But just looking at these makes me think there might be some competition.
7:08 Lemon pepper victim spotted LOL
Looking to buy one of those basket, nice vid, thanks!
I can taste it now! 😊👍👍
How much where get it ! Show me!! ^^

Thanks^^

Backyard SmokeMaster BBQ It will but barelyyy. I’ve used it on my classic and it’s worked well
Works in the Classic II (18") - BUT...be careful with the wing nuts hitting the side. I saw a video where someone changed the wing nuts to hex nuts and that solved the problem!
Works on Classic I but the wing nuts have to be replaced with shorter screws, either hex or Phillip head.

I don't have a joe yet 🤞 so me commenting isn't probably right. Either way the video and all the accessories you have make me want to run out and get one.
Lastly, is yours an 18 inches or 24 inch?
His looks like the 24, I agree with the basting brush idea. 400 seemed high for an hour but looks great
What temp did you have the joe at?
I have the KJ Classic II with the Joetisserie and the Napoleon basket. So far I used it twice cooking wings and each time the basket has opened up during the early part of the cook. If you give up on the Napoleon basket, consider giving the Fill It And Grill It basket a try. It’s worked well in my KJII w/ Joetisserie. Good luck.

I love ATL grill company. Got my ys640 from them.
They seriously are the best. Excellent customer service as well. How you like the Yoder?
@@BreakItYourself I love it. It's the older model that doesnt have wifi, but it works just fine. Rust isn't an issue for me. Puts out great food
I know the size of the Wings are of personal preference, but approximately, how many wings in that basket?
Why use a rotisserie when you can just put them on the grate?
Because you can cook a lot more at once, they cook evenly and crispy and don't char.
How did you attach your probe to your dome thermometer?
(And eew so gross when you ate over the bowl of wings... like at least step away from the rest) 🤢
You should watch chef Eric's video in hot yaki wings, IV made them with the joetissary and nepolian basket, comes out amazing.
Lil advice to make points with the wife; cut back on the Lemon Pepper on her share.
I think adding dry seasoning after cooking makes the flavor too intense. Might be better using a sauce on the side to make everyone happy
Hot wings woosy lemon on fish no chicks!!
joetisserie or dojoe?
Mine did not crisp either. I don't think I should have oiled them. Very disappointed!
hay guys soak them baskets in a bucket of hot soapy water. that will do the trick.
Picaaaawwwwwnn
No pee cans here baw!
An hour seems like a long time. My wings grill in 35 mins.
Add honey then dip
Keep your wings whole, use butter milk brine....
AGC ? another commercial for them :) man they must have a LOT of paid sponsors........
Bit too long and hot for my liking. I'm more about 40mins.
The chewing sounds and lip smacking is too much.
