I have the JoeTisserie, my first go at wings turned out about the same as this one. One nice thing about it is that you can cook a LOT of wings at once. Looking forward to seeing how you improve them. I really wish there were more JoeTisserie basket recipes out there.... might try some brussels sprout next.
Great wings videos, I love wings and have tried many methods looking for the best possible wings. I have settled on using the Vortex in my BGE, start with them on the edge and indirect heat at about 400 degrees, once wings are at 165, I move them over the direct heat in the center of the grate, this gives them the char and crispiness that I like. I highly recommend you give this method a try. Again, thanks for the quality videos!!!
Gee, I don't own a KJ, but I watch plenty of Q related content (including the Dad BBQ guy). Curious if #dartagnanfoods#chickenwings beat the Costco frozen stuff we usually get. Side note: Seems you're having some bad luck with videos lately. Weather, timing, over cooked. Kinda reminds me of me in that regard. Cheers.
Def an improvement over frozen wings. Not huge. You really notice the difference in chicken breasts though. Yeah weather has not been my friend! Joys of backyard bbq hah 🍻
@@RumandCook i wonder if I'm supposed to argue with him and say he's not that bad......heh. I obviously wouldn't be watching if it weren't worth the time. I usually find channels by searching for a particular dish.
Ok Jason …….. third time I’ve gotta tell ya. Try this. Use the KK with a basket rotisserie Pat dry your wings. Dust with Baking Powder - one with no aluminum in it. Dust with S/P and/or rub (both optional) Put on a rack and air dry in the refrigerator uncovered for 24 hours Lite off the KK or Big Joe, Egg, whatever 300 degrees Spray basket with duck oil, toss into basket Rotisserie for 30 minutes or so - remove from heat. Do not fully cook. Let sit for 30 minutes or up to a day in your refrigerator Rotisserie again over 500 degree heat Remove at 185 internal temp Remove, let cool. Toss in favorite wing sauce - done I live outside Buffalo - this works - trust me. The mistake you are making is you are not using baking powder, air drying, and resting after a partial cook. Your KK will give you better results. Ya I know there’s a bigger market for Joes. But if your goal is the crispiest wings, use the KK. All The Best BBQ Brother PS: Expert KK Griller
Yeah I meant to air dry, but didn’t have time. I’ve tried the rest between stages on my air fryer should work great here as well. Thanks for the tip. KK is in the garage up for sale although I’ve been slow to do anything beyond post it on the forums. 🍻
If crispy is what you’re looking for then run the grill with rotisserie at 500 degrees. Do not lift the lid to check them for 30 minutes. Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah can cook a ton which is nice. I’ll be playing with it more and will do some videos. 🍻

I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for watching. 🍻
Looks delicious!
Thanks 🍻
That John Henry’s Texas Chicken Tickler is phenomenal.
Yeah I love it. 🍻
Thanks for another great video. I am going to try some Dartagnan wings! #chickenwings #dartagnanfoods
Won’t disappoint 🍻
I’m gonna try this next Saturday just got the Joetisserie baskets
Awesome congrats. Good luck! 🍻
Hey Jake. Do you prefer the Joe or the Komodo for every day use? Thanks Phil
Not a fair comparison. The KK is a luxury Kamado and far more mass. It has an advantage over the KJ. Both cook great food, but the KK has the edge. 🍻
Any chance i could get the exact length×width dimensions of the rectangular basket? I understand the thickness is adjustable.
I’m not near it, but that should be on their website. A drawing or something. 🍻
#chickenwings #dartagnanfoods. I love grilled wings. I cook mine on my weber 26 woth a SNS. Gets over 400 degrees indirect and skin is crispy.
Sounds tasty! 🍻
Wing-master. They are looking pretty good.
Thanks 🍻
Like to see popcorn on the grill
Interesting. I’ve never thought of that. 🍻
#dartagnanfoods #chickenwings
I've never been a huge wings fan, but man those look GOOD.
Thanks much! 🍻
You’ve done quite a few wing methods. Would love to see you rank your top ones. #chickenwings #dartagnanfoods
Once I get them perfected on the KJ I’ll do a head to head. With my best way on the Yoder. 🍻
Great looking wings. #chickenwings #dartagnanfoods
Thanks Fred! 🍻
Look delicious I just got my basket
Awesome, time to put it to work! 🍻
Looks good can’t wait to try it. #chickenwings #dartagnanfoods
Thanks! 🍻

@@RumandCook yeah, I'd love to have a covered space for outdoor cooking, but I don't.
I might have to get that basket. I have the Napoleon basket… Wongs look great… #chickenwings #dartagnanfoods
It’s nice and flexible with the adjust options. 🍻
I don’t think you were running high enough temp I’d normally run 400° with that basket for wings and they come out perfect
I’ll be trying a few different things and will post an update. Thanks 🍻

Use the KK with a basket rotisserie
Pat dry your wings.
Dust with Baking Powder - one with no aluminum in it.
Dust with S/P and/or rub (both optional)
Put on a rack and air dry in the refrigerator uncovered for 24 hours
Lite off the KK or Big Joe, Egg, whatever 300 degrees
Spray basket with duck oil, toss into basket
Rotisserie for 30 minutes or so - remove from heat. Do not fully cook.
Let sit for 30 minutes or up to a day in your refrigerator
Rotisserie again over 500 degree heat
Remove at 185 internal temp
Remove, let cool. Toss in favorite wing sauce - done
I live outside Buffalo - this works - trust me.

The Joe basket is supposed to cap out at 450
Those #chickenwings looked pretty good to me. Bet they tasted good with the extra fat dripping from inside the basket as well. #dartagnanfoods
Yep for sure! 🍻
Should have used your KK
