i have a right wing friend (idk if i should call him friend but anyways) who claims that women actually like to be raped because many of them have rape fantasies… or that women love aggressive, muscular, non-emotional toxic men because they fantasize about them (ie. in movies, etc) In reality it couldn’t be further from the truth. While it’s true that many women have very anti-feminist sexual fantasies, they really want the opposite. The large majority wants men who can show emotions and who understands women’s feelings (or anyone’s feelings). Often times, i hear women say that gay men are the ideal men and they’re disappointed when they find out they are gay. Freud/Lacans theory really cleared things up.
Also, I have this question. What would be the sublime object of ideology before capitalism? Or would Zizek say that the pre-capitalistic human consciousness didn't follow the Lacanian formula?
Buddhism doesnt have much to do about denying the body the desires. It's the way of the ascetics and The Buddha renounces them. Buddhism has much more to do with the idea of impermanence, and observing the friction between the desires and the impermanent nature of reality, thereby seeing the emptiness of desire.
The female companion you have, needs more introduction and acknowledgement from you. Like commitment, because you said that are enjoying life together. So, where is your wisdom on regards of that, and presenting that lady with the dignity she deserves?! Where are the kindness and virtue developed in regards of all the comments?🤔 I enjoyed many words you expressed about love and the significant one... whic is someone that allows us to have a good conversation always...if she is to whom you have all those conversations... I don't see and feel congruency ? Sorry, but it is hard for me to understand, since I love psychology and filosophy more in the real life from whom is explaining. Apologies for being too open. There is no true selfhood lying beyond desire in Buddhism though. No-self is one of the central tenets in Buddhism.
