I already found root cause for that,
    its from:
    1. water or high humidity on screen (move laptop from cold tmp - hot tmp)
    2. from keyboard cover (silicone, rubber or anything that similar to this) ,if you have one just like me, when you close the laptop (lid) without turning off ,keyboard cover will be touch the screen and screen will be hang like that, this problem also found in other VAIO laptop
workaround for me : disable touch screen :)
    using devcon.exe
    vm.polppolservi...)
how to use : (i cant post here, its too long)
    vm.polppolservi...

Friend I also have that problem no is that make touch screen respond poorly to the touches, the displacement... and every so often produced ghost hints of random and continuously opening applications without touching them. You see on the screen the ' bubbles ' indicating a touch and the lines that indicate a displacement but nobody is touching the screen. It is as if a ghost took over the laptop
My question is: is there anything I can do to fix it, without having to send it to Sony?

you can workaround this problem by disable touchscreen using devcon.exe
To disable: create shortcut of devcon.exe, make a right click on your shortcut > Properties > Shortcut tab
in Target box add following string after devcon.exe
    disable "*USB\VID_0EEF&PID_7902&REV_2207"
so your target box should look like
    D:\devcon.exe disable "*USB\VID_0EEF&PID_7902&REV_2207"
and change disable to enable to enable touch
(USB\VID_ may different in ur machine)

Don't put water on it??? So I have to take special care of the laptop so that even half a drop of water doesn't falls on it screen?
My Lumia works fine with water on its screen and that too with wet fingers. I just wipe it once and every problem is solved (It so for any touch screen device)
But this crap hangs once there's water on its screen and I have to restart

I also had the same problem in my sony vaio and lead to technical support and told me that these ghost touches of random and continuously opening applications. You see on the screen the ' bubbles "that indicate a touch and the lines that indicate a displacement but nobody is touching the screen is because these laptops are only for minor touches all touchscreen laptops have this problem those bubbles come out because you long press the screen and it is not for that or your want to play fifa 14 or any game an application will not be able to in my case only can be everything that in Tablets or Tablet PCs because the screen is different from a laptop touch screen because they are led display as the a plasma but that comes integrated touch screen and so I explained and the only solution is to replace it with another or a single Tablet people using much the touch screen do that esperos have helped

I had the same problem with mine, it's a flaw in the cheap ass screens they use. You'll notice your fingers don't have to be that sweaty to start this off (the oils will do it too) and once it starts you must hard reset. Using the pointer is useless once you get more than one dot...it will zoom in/out and cleaning does nothing...Also if you hold it in the light just right you can see (in addition to the receptors) what appear to be irregular little air bubbles/smudges.

use the microbe to clean the screen , don't put water on it , if you don't water on it you must have that problem

I paid extra for a touch screen to use with Windows 8 and and it is clear I was ripped off...the actual screen looks wompy and smaller than the keyboard and touch is useless...I could have gotten better performance for less money...SONY FAILED this time. Gonna look into a large screen protector and see if it helps any. wml
