Thank you 🙏 It’s always great to know when our videos are actually helping people :)) We forget the impact we can have. Thanx for watching and hope to see you on a tour one day?! Have a great weekend ✌️🤠
Thank you. I am in my mid-50s and visiting Madeira for the first time next month. Between a bad back and fear of driving limit what I can do, but your information has been very useful.
Hi Jeff. We just booked a two week stay for January 2025, staying at the Baia Azul. Have been to Madeira four times previously, but this will be our first time going in the middle of winter. Kind of nervous as to what to wear, will be prepared to wear anything, except heavy coats lol We are coming from Canada btw. Great video, keep up the good work 👍
Yeah wouldn’t bring the heavy coats but if you plan on going up high, especially at sunrise or sunset, bring something not quite as heavy duty but certainly will be cold up there. Down in Funchal you can pack for autumn. Enjoy and stick around ;))
We are coming from Canada, last thing we want to take on holiday in January is a heavy winter coat 🤣 Honestly, we usually go to the Caribbean, but a Portuguese pal of mine told me to try Madeira out, I might be pleasantly surprised. I recall a few years back that temps actually went to the high 20’s in mid-late February in Funchal. A lot better that -5 or colder and 25 cms of snow that we usually have here.
Thanks Jeff! Good advice. We did a couple of your company's tours and one with Lisa from Free Walking Tours Funchal too... All great. We'll be sure to check out the guitar concerts at the Presbyterian Church of Funchal.
Que vídeo fantástico!! Or should I say what an awesome video!? I have no idea, you tell me. Either way I cannot speak your language, as I'm a Brazilian man, we do speak different languages and I learned this the hard (and funny) way last time I spent some time on a road trip in Northern Portugal, the land of my grandmother.

Im coming to madeira solo in march, with a rental car. But im not sure if i wanna drive up to arieiro in the dark. What would be the best way to go about this. Any good tours that will allow me to do the sunrise hike
We offer a sunrise tour at Hit The Road but that is more of a tour and not the peak to peak hike (at the moment at least) If you want to do the peak to peak hike I recommend doing it by taxi or if you’re tight on a budget, there’s transfer companies that do it, you’ll have to google them, I don’t know who they are and how they operate … Enjoy!!
Hey Jeff, number 5 made me laugh mate. If you wanna make the big bucks all you (or anyone else) has to do is advertise special tours for instagrammers / influencers where you zoom around the island with the sole purpose of getting them to as many places where they can take pictures of themselves to post as possible within one day, no long stops to actually appreciate the place or anything like that, just a minute at each place to make themselves look good including a restaurant where glorious looking fake rubber food is set up with the perfect backdrop and they take it in turns to jump off the coach into the seat for 30 seconds to take the picture and then jump back on to the next place lol. This kind of thing will definately come (unfortunately), there are already fake studios where influencers can go to take selfies behind fake screen backdrops showing them in all sorts of exotic locations that are inundated with customers lol. Anyway Im glad to see you're back making another video and bringing a bit of the real feel of Madeira to the airwaves!
Brilliant, love the sarcasm! I cannot stand all these fake people, I have no issue with most genuine people taking photographs and getting memories but as you say this "look at me and what I do" type people really get on my nerves. I loved Madeira and been twice and only a few days at a time, I'm back again in October for my first solo trip. I don't really do all the sightseeing like many tourists, but have done a few places, but just love the pace of life throughout the day and night. Am planning a few more walks for this year. Cannot wait. @Hittheroadmadeira - thanks for the vids, very informative and I'll be back in La Vaca Negra again when I visit 🙂
Between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius more or less. I have written a blog post linked to this video regarding the weather in Madeira, there is more information there ;) Have a great weekend !!
Hi! For a 6 year old we recommend only private tours, so that we can be flexible. Unfortunately our minimum age for our group tours is 10 :( Send us an email and we’ll happily send you a quote.
Did you ask ChatGPT to put them in some order? Otherwise it will just list 20 items 😂. So no order is like a random list…. Once again a great video. 👍🏻
@@Hittheroadmadeira I do hope your Government do something for your own people regarding property prices, and make a bit of fight against too many people outside of Madeira purchasing property. I have seen prices seem to be rocketing there like here in the UK. I think there are some measures being taken by your Government but hope it won't be too late and it ruins your great island in years to come.
I still love Madeiran lane discipline on roundabouts🤣🤣🤣. But when in Madeira...I'll need to give you some lessons if you ever come to the UK. 😉 Could you start putting details of the bars/restaurants you visit in these vlogs in the comments? Especially how to get there? Quite fancy visiting some of them when we visit. We usually stick to the main bits of Funchal but it would be nice to go further afield.
