Hey Spence Since your a pro runner I know that you'll have the experience to give me some good advice. In 6 weeks I have my schools athletics day coming up and my friend and I have been training for the 1500m. We feel like we need to get down to around 5:00 to have a good chance at winning, we are from New Zealand so Track isn't as popular, which is why a 5 minute 1500 will probably win a 15 year old race. Currently we are both around 5:15 - 5:20 fitness. I have been watching your past videos for workouts I can modify and try to use to benefit my running but I think I need an extra edge to speed up 20 seconds in 6 weeks. I am asking whether there are any specific workouts we should be doing to knock off this sort of time from our current 1500 and whether you think it's a realistic goal. Love From NZ!
Car tip. While you talk you can already start your engine because since it's so colled and thin air at altitude the engine needs to warm up before you start riding with it :)
Great video. Looks like a tough session. I actually did the exact same pyramid session on Friday as well! With 200m recovery jogs between reps, wayyy slower than your splits though.
Probably depends on the workout and the runner, for a workout like this I want think that hitting the times slow and and finishing would better as your body would still get the volume and some speed.

Recovery takes a lot longer on altitude. Not only between runs/workouts but even more between reps!
