Had mine for 6 months. Minus the eclutch. In the UK. Got the race pack fitted and heated grips for colder rides. Totally agree about how smooth the inline 4 is. I have 28" inseam and this is the biggest bike i feel comfortable on. Best mod so far was replacing the dunlops with michelin road 6 tyres. Totaly transforms the handling. Look forward to future videos. Subbed. 👍
Appreciate the love! I might’ve ordered some of the race pack accessories from Europe already… 😜 I’ve heard great things about those Michelins so I might have to do the same.
Loved this video! Super informative 👌🏼 I just left the Del Amo in Lakewood, i was looking to upgrade to a 600cc and as soon as I sat on the cbr650 I fell in love. Been watching videos on it all day and now I kinda regret not buying it today 😅
Thank you!! Always better to do your research first! The 650 is the less sporty less powerful sibling of the 600. Can’t go wrong either way, good luck with the choice!
My next bike will either be this or the GSX-8R! I live in a large city, so not having to constantly use the clutch would be wonderful. Great video, thanks!
@Moetorcycles 27k miles, love it! Great performance, quality, and features… wish I had heated grips, only regret… The bags are great for touring, but I may add top box for more storage space for longer miles! Plan on running this bike past 75k in the coming years!
I’m confused, so I can shift gears with paddles or foot? I was looking this or the CB 650r because I lost feeling from nerve damage in the top of my left foot so I do not want to have to use my foot for anything .
No paddles. You have to use your foot To shift just like a normal bike. For you, look into Hondas DCT. That has paddles to shift or a full automatic mode. This might be helpful: th-cam.com/users/shortsRWuk2mDqivU?si=v2u-baBEDuhpkPGB
I'm probably gonna buy the same bake as you but I'm still contemplating if I want the e-clutch or not. It's gonna be my first bike (I'ts gonna be throttled to A2 cus im not allowed to drive more powerfull ones) so even if I would get the e-clutch I would probably turn it of for the first few hundred miles just to learn how to properly ride every bike. I live in a city so I think it would be pretty convenient but I don't know if it's worth the extra 500 bucks.
The a2 restricted cbr650r is the best beginner bike imo because once you’re out of A2 you unlock a whole new bike. The weight isn’t ideal though, because it weighs as much as a 650 but will only have half the power until you unlock it. If you can manage that go for it Eclutch is a no brainer. The OEM quicksifters like $300? Extra 200 for the eclutch makes a lot of sense to me at least. Either way, good luck and safe riding
I don’t live in a hilly area and haven’t had to try it (I’ll find a hill and give it a shot for you!). But I slide down my driveway in first so I’d assume without braking it would roll. I’ll follow up
I wouldn’t call it an up/down quick shifter. But I know what you mean. It mimics a quick shifter but has no relation to fuelling interruption. Just a motorized clutch. The advantage is you can use it between neutral and first gear which you can’t with a quick shifter
Do you have a comparison to kawasaki z900? Im thorned between those two motorbikes. Wish cbr had more Nm an PS, eclutch is extraordinary and sound of cbr is amazing. Nkw kawasaki announced new z900 with all modern electronics. Would you consider swap to z900? And downshift on opened throttle is amazing with e-clutch.
@@Moetorcycles yes but that's a parallel twin(If I remember correctly) not an inline 4. Dct is also great but it's an automatic all and all. Imo that takes some fun away. Also the Africa twin is expensive as fuck, the CBR 650 is a somewhat budget bike and something like a Honda cbf 650 e clutch would be great.
Yeah definitely not the same, just the closet thing as of rn. I’m sure the eclutch will make its way to more vehicles soon enough, at least I hope it does.
nice video bro i want to ask you a question because i am about to buy a motorcycle and i can't decide between r7 and cbr650r e clutch what do you think thank you
Depends. Do you want super sport ergonomics? R7. Do you want more comfortable ergonomics? Cbr. Are you riding the bike every day as your main vehicle? Are you just riding for fun? Do you want more power up top, or more power down low? Cbr is way more powerful than the r7, but r7 is more torque down low. They’re very different bikes. Pick based on your riding style.
They said that when you pulled the clutch, the E-C turned off until you back to neutral. So how can you alternatively switch between E-C and traditional clutch? A lil bit confused.
I have a 2024 650R E-Clutch… When you shift with the clutch lever it DOES temporarily turn off E-Clutch function for like 2 seconds but comes right back on, no need to be in neutral for it to reset. My ONLY complaint about it is when you go into settings and turn it off to ride like a regular motorcycle it automatically defaults back to being ON when you turn key off. So you need to turn it off again every time you start the bike. But having it on allows you to use the speed shifter so i normally just leave the E-Clutch turned ON. That being said… I LOVE THE TECHNOLOGY and think it’s a great feature, i was worried about its longevity when ringing its neck but 1000 miles into the bike and still no problems. Honda builds with quality.
Thats fucking insane someone asked if it has enough power to over take cars on the highway 😭 Also, whats the point of using the clutch if you have the eclutch for stops and a quickshifter?
Man i love the e clutch, much needed for where im from (singapore)
It’s great for sure!
LET’S GO PLEASE KEEP POSTING
Thank you! I will

@Moetorcycles one last question, after having some time with the bike, do you regret your purchase?
Absolutely not
My next bike will either be this or the GSX-8R! I live in a large city, so not having to constantly use the clutch would be wonderful.
Great video, thanks!
I saw / met someone with a gsx8r recently, the bikes beautiful!
Thank you!
I own one. My 2 options were either the gsx 8r or the cbr650r. I couldn't find the Cbr so I ended up buying the 8R. Both bikes are great.
Great review man learnt a lot and love this bike even more now thank you!
Glad to hear it! Thanks
No bs. Great video!!
Thank you!
I think if I wouldn’t have found my Ninja 1000sx used, I would have bought a CBR650R. Such a great Sport Touring bike!
How you liking the ninja?
@@Moetorcycles Love it! It's great for long rides, it's great for sport riding in the twisties, and it is a super reliable bike!
did you post in the cbr650r subreddit abt this before?
@ Nope!

Such a fun bike!
Im getting my CBR650R with e clutch black in February. Pre ordered alr but a lot of waiting 😭😭. Excited asf
You’re gonna love it!
@@Moetorcycleswhich helmet are you using?
What questions would you like me to answer / what would you like me to show you in the next video about the CBR? 🤔
I'm super happy for you 😊nice bike
Thank you so much!
the smooth break in pull barely hitting 8000rpms while the guy is trying to race is pretty ironic
Right hahaha I thought it was so funny when I saw it in editing
Talks about wind. *laughs in naked* 😂
As for power delivery, smooth is good. My SV kicks you in the nuts because the power comes on so soon in the powerband.
I'm so happy for you though, man. I can't wait to see your plans for it.
😂😂
Appreciate you brotha! Got some things cooking already
Nice review, glad you are enjoying your new bike.
which helmet are you using? Now that my bike is coming within the next 1-3 weeks, I am starting to look for a helmet. thinking of the AGV K6
I have the AGV k1s. Nice, comfy, good quality, but very loud. It’s more on the race side. The k6 should be quieter from what I’ve heard
@ i see, thanks a lot. I’ll be getting the k6 ig😊
Nice review! Make more videos of the acceleration and full throttle 👀
Thanks! 100% will do, just been babying it as I break it in haha

If you turn the e-clutch off, can you stall when taking off?
Yes, eclutch off = normal manual bike
What grips did you order so i can as well? Please and thank you
Grips brand please?
yo sorry for the delay! I got domino grips
@@Moetorcycles Thank you g
Can’t wait for more CBR content!
What about ninja 650 between ninja 650 and cbr 650 e clutch ?
The cbr650r is better than the ninja 650 in every possible way imo
I have same bike, amazing bike for sure but i have quastion do you roll off throttle when shifting down using the e clutch?
often yes, but not always. Depends why I'm downshifting

Haven’t experienced a z900 so can’t compare unfortunately
I wish honda made an adventure/ touring bike with this engine and e-clutch, I think it would be a success. Kinda like the Yamaha FZ6R/XJ6
I’m sure they will eventually. Africa twin with dct is pretty great although not the exact same

No, it’s doesn’t turn off until you’re back into neutral, just until you’re back into gear. You can see me do it in the video
@Moetorcycles thank you. This is a holy grail without auto blipping haha. Have you ever tried blipping when the gear was shifting?
You can’t auto blip when using the eclutch to shift. It’ll just accelerate
I have a 2024 650R E-Clutch… When you shift with the clutch lever it DOES temporarily turn off E-Clutch function for like 2 seconds but comes right back on, no need to be in neutral for it to reset. No complaints as of yet haha
Did ur bike develop a vibration or rattle in the front at low speeds in first gear like somthings loose and shaking
Not that I’ve noticed
now that ive had it for a bit, I definitely notice it at around 6k rpms
Is the dash LCD or TFT ?
TFT
Thats fucking insane someone asked if it has enough power to over take cars on the highway 😭
Also, whats the point of using the clutch if you have the eclutch for stops and a quickshifter?
Right? 😂
People might prefer to use it for more control in slow speed maneuvers or just cause they want to for fun. You don’t ~need~ to
You want power, get a cbr1000
👍
With E clutch must close the throttle to change a gear ?
As you can see in the video, you can keep accelerating as you shift through the gears
