The most underrated joke in this movie that flies by a lot of people is the one about Richard Pryor after Bill Murray hallucinates the waiter on fire. You guys got it right away. I love when movies I grew up with have lines like that that you had to have been there or at least researched about the era to get. Mel Brooks movies have some of that, especially the ones that are endearingly less timeless. Even Blazing Saddles, which is pretty timeless, has the joke about Randolph Scott, who was an actor in the 60s who played a lot of cowboy characters.
Scrooged makes me tear up too! One of my seasonal happy memories is seeing this in the theater when it came out and that huge theater spontaneously singing along and swaying back and forth at the end & not rushing to leave. It was really moving.
One of the absolute best Xmas movies, completely ahead of its time -- critics treated it badly upon release, the general sense was that it was not very good. Now, over 30 years later, we can all appreciate its genius. Fantastic reaction, happy holidays to you both.

We always opened family gifts on Christmas Eve. And Santa’s gift on Christmas morning. I found out as an adult they did it that way because the Santa gift was usually the more expensive item and if we were brats about not getting what we wanted they weren’t going to give us the big gift. She said she was proud she never had to withhold it. That was like the best compliment I think I got from her.

I was hoping that David was going to recognize Karen Allen from Indiana Jones. Carol Kane's 'Ghost of Christmas Present' is my favorite of the ghosts in this one. For more Bill Murray, I highly recommend the 1980 movie "Caddyshack". And for more Karen Allen, I highly recommend the 1984 movie "Starman". Hope that you both have a wonderful Christmas. Yo David and Marc, Merry Christmas! I saw this in the theater as an 11 year old and loved it. Bill Murray in his prime. I still love Muppets, Mickey’s, and Scrooged as my top 3 Christmas Carol movies. Great reaction. Buster Poindexter I believe is the ghost of Christmas past. He was famous around this time in the late 80s for his song or music video performance of the song “Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!” Or whatever it’s called. Enjoyed both your Christmas Carol reactions. It scared me so much. It changed how I packed my car and told people where I was going. I still have anxiety about it. Especially when I was a visiting nurse in rural areas. People still wonder why I always have so much water in my car. 😂

While known for improving lines and some actions, some of the injuries in the film really landed by mistake such as when Bill elbows his secretary in the face and when he falls exiting the restaurant. All done in real time.

Waiting to watch your muppets reaction until tomorrow because I haven’t watched it yet this year (both this and that are yearly watches). This movie is chock full of ad-libs of course, including the but at the end where Murray is telling the theater audience to sing. Now for fun facts. When Frank slips after pouring the water on the dude, that wasn’t on purpose - he really did slip because it was still wet. The production was very interesting the director and Murray had some different opinions on things - Murray later said the director just kept telling him to be louder. Carol Kane actually ripped Bill Murray’s lip so hard that filming had to pause for several days. The street musicians that Frank was bothered by were professional musicians…. I think that’s it for now lol. Thank you for the reaction as usual and I look forward to watching the muppets tomorrow!

Wow no reaction to Niagra falls scene, figured that would be a nice emotional one. I don't see the frisbee thing as him being so assholish, Claire is more so. Not supporting his job. Yes its unfair to put priority on his boss meeting over friends, but friends would understand needing to secure his future imo. Without showing many similar scenes you can feel that Claire's decision is kind of abrupt. Actually you seemed to have cut almost every instance that would bring an emotional scene, heavily favoring only the comedy.

Dreyfus is a is a real piece of work.. if you look it up online and and kind of study and the whole what about Bob filming scenarios, Dreyfus did not like Bill Murray at all and I honestly believe it's because Bill Murray can improvise so well probably from his own Saturday night live experience etcetera and Dreyfus is just he's really rude....
