@@jbarral6509 Yeah there was a lot of violence. But rappers were usually pretty chill and weren't really shooting each other then. It was mostly dope boys, robbers, and gangs. Nowadays, rappers kill people to PRETEND to be in gangs or sell drugs. Rappers in that era were largely rappers because they didn't want that kinda lifestyle. There are exceptions but it really wasn't until about the mid 2000s that rappers created the persona of drug kingpin and gang member and things got heated. My point is that rappers were mostly CELEBRATED in their hoods. Their existence alone would unite whole communities, just like Biggie did in NYC. Andreas M actually, if canibus would have kicked his 100 bars verse, disaster would have loss...
I'll take Cornrow Kenny, Cyhi, Pun's son group, and 3/4 of Slaughterhouse.. Hip-Hop not dead
Damn. Shit like this b makin me teary eyed. To see other goats reacting to each other is powerful man.
What an amazing piece of hip hop history! Legends!!!!❤
"sometimes rhyming i blow my own mind like nirvana" PUN was unreal so many ill bars
Smells like teen....
Canibus was dissing L.L. Cool J.
Full of puns
Hip hop is so beautiful, they were just friends chilling and having fun while freestyling. It's so nice to see the union that Hip hop makes. I've been just like that with a couple of friends gathered and freestyling to a beat. Only thing missing here was a beat.
Yeah there was also shootings back then and it was very much hell
Now, they get killed by random weirdos looking for attention on Instagram.
Beat or not if you can freestyle you can freestyle
@@jbarral6509 Of course, that always been there and always will, I prefer to focus on the positive and stuff. Though I love all kinds of hip hop, gansta or not. As long as is old schoold, bc that's my shit. I barely listen to newer shit.
@@rajbhattacharya4427 those personas you are referring to were created way before the mid 2000's.
Look at this round table of legends. Now imagine the rap ‘heroes’ right now like Lil Uzi Vert, Future, Lil Durk, Young Thug, Lil Baby…
You wouldn’t understand 85% of their words without subtitles.
@@UncleSwell707 You're right. They're speaking with a completely different tongue and nearly 0 articulation.
I could be completely wrong, let's see how many of their songs will be played 15+ years from now compared to Dr. Dre, E-40, Eminem, Snoop, 50 Cent, Kanye, Jay-Z.
Who’s here after watching Cannabis on Maff Hoffa?
Me
Mic Geronimo was the only to freestyle. RIP PUN 🐐
Power in Truth underrated, puffy destroyed his career, Geronimo was the truth at one point
@Omnipresent One "the green eye bandit" is Eric Sermon, not Keith Murray
Mic Geronimo sounded like prodigy from mobb deep. U can hear it.

"I deserve the right to anchor"
And then you realize Pun was the best alive at the time.
they were both the best around at that time, thats why pun never said shit when canibus said he had the right to anchor. also felt that pun was a bit jealous after canibus dropped his bars. canibus was coming with that raw hardcore shit, military lines (run 20 miles on soft sand) . pun still absolutely amazing though.
@Stephen ssr&rtv2019 so? he admitted he lost. then he pulled the notepad out. stop crying like a little bitch over that shit . bis still the goat. no one wins every battle they are in. eminem couldnt even beat ja rule. nuff said. everyone takes a l left and right. no biggie, canibus was man enough to admit he lost. and to be honest he didnt even lose, all dizaster did was exactly what eminem did, copying canibus style and mocking it. pure trash.
@@deathrager2404 Canibus wanted the anchor because he spit the dis track for LL Cool J who he was beefing with at the time.
He wanted the end it with the LL Cool J dis lyrics.
@Stephen ssr&rtv2020 probably just didn't want to reach across the table lol
I was checking for big pun and mos def !
Neither disappointed!!
Big Pun killed it! What a dam beast! Representing for all my Latinos! What a talent!!!
Every true Hip-Hop head is either doing this sort of thing or did that sort of thing back in the day.
Linking with the heads, drinking, smoking busting out the new rhymes, new mixes, new tunes.
Was fun to be a '90s kid.
1:21 They left my guy Big Pun hanging
Old Sport no he didnt look again the cup blocked ya view
I saw that
😜
Yeah they sleep on you till they hear you spit
@@untouchableMCs yes he did he definitely did not shake his hand
RIP to two legends; Big Pun and DMX
BIG PUN R.I.P a super legend in rap history, his mind and flow is from another planet, super lyrical.
Rest in peace pun we miss u big bro..
So happy someone recorded this! Youngins nowadays have no idea what true lyricist are nowadays !
Ikr facts
Big Pun had the same lyrical level as B.I.G. except Pun was beyond underrated.. change my mind.
Retro_Zombie79
Pun was better
both pun and canibus are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above big or pac. fuck outta here. biggie and pac were playground rappers in comparison to them
pun is criminally underrated
@Buns Loco lyrically it's not close. Compare any song
@Groovy J biggie was not a better artist, nor a better storyteller. besides he rapped shit he wasnt living, aka the ultimate fake. fuck outta here. canibus shits on litterally everybody, including pun. canibus was and still is ahead of his time. he got intergalactical secrets for us, heis not getting caught up in politics unlike pac. he is not living a lie unlike big.
his vocab is unmatched, his lyricism is unmatched. he just got blackballed so the industry can push fake rappers like ll cool j, eminem etc.
biggie and pac are trash in comparison. get off that dick bro
listen to secrets amongst cosmonauts. that is the truth. channel zero, taht is the truth. neither pac nor big could come up with factualy stories like this, mixed with lyricism wordplay and an insane vocab like canibus.
the truth hurts i know, but dont tell me big was better. thats the biggest joke ever.
I wish Big L was there :D
Same here. I was looking for a comment like this.
My phone would not be able to handle all that
one three ninth and lennox represent the dangerzone the devils son the most valuable poet one of the G.O.A.T
I mean all the guys except X and Pun kind of hesitated to even start freestyling, if it was Big L he'd kill that shit on the moment!
Big L would be the only one to give pun a run
I watch this cypher at least once a year 🔥 Timeless
Listening to all albums from all of these guys, not a single one of these is a freestyle. Cannibus is literally word for word off his album.
That dmx verse is such a ”dmx” verse lol
DMX put it on life support but Punisher killed it
DMX's was nothing special. He's not a lyricist.
wunas96
Dumb-ass nigga you're sorry ass probably only listens to DMX mainstream shit
wunas96 yes he is
Jacob Santos what about John forte?
I love DMX now and my comment was just a reflection of what I thought at the time, but as you called me dumb, I feel I owe you *your.
Never see a cypher like this AGAIN gods flows
Pure, unadulterated classic hip-hop that was in the cipher! RIP to our fallen soldiers- Hip-Hop Artists. One.
Big Pun the greatest RIP
What year is this?... lemme know.
Who is that guy at the end in the corner,he kinda looks like biggie or he is biggie idk
1997
It was 98. Thats why he said i sampled u to canibus on his album capital punishment
@Well Rounded it was he said "sample that" and his eyes wouldn't be so concentrated if it was a written
RIP Big Pun. Hope your having good rap battles with Biggie Tupac and BigL in heaven.
MaIumaVEVO they wouldn't battle each other tho, it'd be a friendly cypher just like this
MaIumaVEVO Straight up.
Big L went to hell
Guy Fieri My nigga chill
Ta’Ron Jordan hes right Big L said hes the devils son
A round table of Golden Era emcee knights droppin' lyrical sword sharpening might.
All dope but Pun specifically KILLS it on this one!
Goes to show why he's considered the GOAT when it comes to Latino emcees and ONE OF the GOATS of Hip-Hop, period!
RIP rey
RIP to DMX as well
The saga continues...
My favorite hip hop cypher ever in hip hop history there will never be another hip hop cypher like this nowadays
each rapper have their own voice an flow.. if this was today you would think you were hearing the same rapper on repeat
no bullshyt amen
FR!!!
Voice of Insight imagine Jermaine dupri at this table?
So true
I’m just upset not one person had lil in front of their name
PUN AINT DEAD, HE COMES TO LIFE WHEN WE PRESS PLAY!
I love how everyone dapped up Canibus at the end.. EXCEPT Pun..he instead reaches for his drink and smirks LOL #CLASSIC
Lol! I caught that too!
Makes you wonder.
Canibus dissed a legend Ll Cool J. Pun loved Cool J
Pun loved Canibus, sampled his lyrics for "Super Lyrical" which he even says in the vid.
DMX was a special being. The growl. Maaan. This is legendary. Everybody spit flames.
Big pun the best Latin rapper ever, from the Bronx. Rest in peace Puerto Rican Latino King
Makaveli The Don, And Daddy Yankee that is the greatest latino rapper of all time? Jajajaja
Juan Rolon no in Puerto Rico a Mc named tempo is known to be the greatest off all time # 2 spot go to don Omar #3 tego Calderon lyrically
MARXO BETTIE, nice joke 👍🏻
Big Pun is the greatest period.
MARXO BETTIE Renee from Calle 13 is up there too. Tego is the king though hands down
Heavy competition but undeniable love and respect all around. This is what hiphop should be
Exactly
X was so hype during Canibus’s verse. Legendary
RIP PUN & DMX one of a kind.
