Canibus didn't get a lot of airplay and most of his fame came from guest appearances (where he killed). His LP dropped and slid under the radar and when people lists their greatest emcees of all time, he's way down the list behind people like Jay, Rakim, Big, Tupac, Em, etc. -if he's even on it. Canibus had the same career as Papoose, in that, he was on the verge of being the next big thing, but fate intervened, in Canibus' case, it came in the form of LL.

LL blew him to pieces, covered in feces with one thesis!!!
@@mikedun7Only because LL laid his verse after hearing Bus verse.
@TheManHam87 I agree with you, but cannibus still got smoked by LL after the official battle started, which my original comment was referring to.
@@mikedun7 the version that got released didn't have cannibus in it he was replaced by Jarule and it was terrible i use to FF through his part lol
@@mikedun7 All lies. I remember when LL himself even said Canibus was his toughest battle on Drink Champs. Bus is a lyrical monster.
People are absolutely comatose on Canibus
If you can't appreciate him for unreal lyricism, appreciate him for his resilience, any rapper that went through the tumble he did would've just up and left
His beef with LL, Eminem etc was what stopped him from going full mainstream, very talented but very restricted.

DMX's verse is Medicine! Rest in Power!
This was the Era, where you could watch BET all day long!

"Beatin live ni99as to death and beatin dead ni99as to life". That line will stick with me forever.
DMX was such a melodic rapper
Hip-hop today ought to be ashamed of itself. Rip X🙏
Dont Sleep on Red Man! He bodied his verse too.
His verse was the best imo.
Who tf would sleep on the legend red
Yes i like REDMAN JOINT!!! TURN A CHRISTIAN TO A CERTIFIED SINNA!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Red is one of the greatest.
I noticed something breakin down Red's verse. Em copied that whole entire flow. No wonder he said Red was his favorite rapper
Master P brought it like it should be on a different level 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🤓🤔🤔🙌🏽🙌🏽💪🏾
He had too.Son was the only down south Kat on here..NY wasn't jaccin the south baçc in the day..Nowadays the south cool with the East, and vice verse.

Classic. CanIbus was always Under rated IMO. I always thought his voice just 'Fit'. Then there's DMX...Another level.
Underrated is the last word I would use for Canibus. He was considered one of the best alive at his peak.
Well, in all my years of listening to U.S hip hop...That's the first time I've ever heard anybody say he was considered one of the best. Shame he didn't stick around for longer either way.
I agree, Canibus was one of the best lyricist there were, but I think he was underrated too, when it came to mainstream success at a time when, any emcee-regardless of their lyrical content, could get on daytime radio.
Neil Kenneth Riley The Brat would do better...She says verse 3000 mph
Aqeel Sabb The Brat would do better than he did she say her verses 3000 mph
This is the juggernaut of hip hop and still is. These dudes are beast! Definitely Jam knew how to pick em. Master P was from the South but still held his ground! R.I.P DMX Cannibus was ill too
This the song that finished Cannibus career lol
Yea this was right before the end of lyrical rap music.
