Just installed 14 of these for a 91' run of fence. What didn't make sense to me was the top bracket attached by a single small screw. Seems like a major weakness to have the entire top rail of the fence system attached like that. I'm deciding now whether to use those or just attach the top rail to the posts the same as the lower rails. I really don't understand the reason for the detachable bracket at all, except maybe it kept their shipping costs down by keeping the boxes under 8' long? Otherwise a great product that seems really sturdy and in the end I think will make a great and long lasting fence.
I just got 2 Lifetime Steel posts delivered to build a test / demo fence section. I agree with the comment on the top bracket. The Lifetime Steel posts are beefy, and even wider than the postmaster+ (4.0" wide vs. 3.5"). They solid, and look built to last a "lifetime." However, that top rail attachment is janky. As a structures & materials engineer, I honestly can't figure out why on earth they did something so stupid. If I were to use it, I would drill out that set tiny set-screw hole and attach it with two 1/4-20 stainless steel bolts and nuts. For that alone, I think the Postmaster+ wins with its full 8' length.
@@artaxerxes2363 on both flanges? Ours are only in the middle where a sign would be mounted. I have 25 of these lifetime posts sitting in my driveway on a pallet, they are definitely way beefier (and wider) than our local stop sign posts.
Can these LIFETIME steel posts be installed with a post driver like competing POSTMASTER steel posts. If yes, please advise what post driver product and adapter can be used.
Note that the Titan GDP3200XPM designed for the Postmaster steel posts does not come with an insert that fits these. Just a bit of information I wish I had before I bought one ;)
@@djinconroe From what I see online, the basic top profile of the Postmaster and Lifetime steel posts look pretty much the same. Are they really that different? (Maybe they had to be to avoid patent infringements....)
@@thebordernow That "puck" shaped insert is different by a small amount. Just enough to prevent the LIFETIME posts from fitting into it. The insert only works with the POSTMASTER posts. I'm sure it was about avoiding patent violation. There is an available insert of the LIFETIME posts. We found it on Amazon and it works exactly like the same way. It's not a deal breaker. Just an extra cost for that chunk of steel.

I'm starting to agree that postmaster must be better... these lifetime fence people don't seem to want my business. Worst website and business practices I've ever seen. Just try calling them. Good luck.

In other words , we're using the regular stop sign posts that the city has installed on the corners.
Those are not as thick.
Not a wide, not as heavy gauge, and no hatch marks/pre-punched holes.
Yup
@@danervin2530 the ones in my city have pre punched holes

Concrete without a sonatube is a recipe for heaving posts here in Minnesota.

The postmaster adapter works. Our local yard rents out a Rhino GPD-45, which I’ll be testing out in the weeks to come.
Did the post driver work out good??@@danervin2530

Can you use this post to make a horizontal fence
Hey I just did. With some plan and preparation it's doable
How about doing these down a slope?
Those post are great but never in stock out here in California
FYI in CA I ordered through HD online and had delivery in 4 days. Lowes showed 3 months lead time for delivery.
thanks for sharing
any similar products in europe? or can they be delivered there?
Can you use fence panels with this?
How many post dose it come with when I order

I live in eastern New Mexico, we have caliche 1 - 3’ down. Haw are these steel posts at going through csliche??
What height does a fence with this design and 92in lifetime posts come out to be? This is assuming the recommended 24in hole depth…
Do these posts require building a fence with the top cap or can I use taller pickets that stand proud of the top rail for added height?
I’d like my fence height around 6.5ft. I have tall neighbors lol
Where do you buy the steel posts? It is not on the TH-cam site!
Home Depot and lowes have them. They sell out fast.
Why would it be level instead of plumb?
Where can I get the brackets
Exactly. They have been "coming soon" for months... lol
Pathetic website.
How many bags of cement did you use for post?
Generally you’ll use 1 bag of maximizer for 2 1/2 holes.
Does home Depot have these posts?
Lowes does
Yes
Do you know anyone in the Tennessee are that does this?
Are you in the East Tennessee area? Look up patriot landscape construction.
1:58 Level? You get posts, plumb.
The adjust a gate is more expensive then anything 🤬
The posts don’t need cement lots of information here is not accurate to an install
Directions clearly say 30 inches of concrete for a 6 foot Panel
The company says concrete but alot of people have learned you can drive and recommend 3ft and it works as well especially on shorter fences under 8 ft
Does that mean if you go 3 feet down you can avoid using concrete? I know with wood post some do that. Thanks
@@chukueke you pack with gravel or hard pack something yes
@@chukueke rent a post driver and pound them 36”.
No need for wet concrete. Dry works better.
Postmaster is BETTER !!!!!
How is postmaster halco steel post different from this steel post?
Building a fence soon. Why do you think postmaster is better?
Both are basically identical .
