    Sounds like an updated, better idea than the Spot. I like the lower monthly fee too. Seems like a good unit. Thanks for the info on it. Ride safe!

      I do think it is significantly better than Spot

    Nice video. I am like you, I want those bastards caught. You may want to check with insurance because I am sure they would give some discount for having this on the bike. Maybe enough to pay for the monthly cost. I am sure others would be interested in this in order to justify the cost.
    Great Job!

      @@GearsGadgets I have Geico too and they've asked me twice if I have antitheft. You would think its to give a discount. Will have to call em again. Pretty good reviews by all so far.

    I completely agree with you about some low-life trying to take my stuff that I've killed myself to buy.
    I just bought a brand new bike, and I lock it every single time I park it, but I'll also consider getting one of these Monimoto devices too.
    Thanks Dan.

    I agree. I have no respect for people who feel they can take something they didn't work for.

    Planning a long trip this summer and don't want to wake up and find the bike missing. Been debating the Monimoto and the Vigo Smart Track, may get both! Thanks for your input.

      It is a solid offering for security for sure.

    it is suggested that the tfacker is not stored insidea metal cotainer (sinal blocking) and tat he GPS end of the unit faces upwards. Still it worked in your experiment regardless !

    I agree with your view on thieves.
    Appears to be a solid construction. We will see if it can hold up to the vibration and heat. Did the two halves of the tube have an O-ring seal?

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it has an O-Ring seal. Sorry I'm WAY behind on comments. Took me a while to get to this one.

    How long does the battery last in the tracker, do you need to recharge it or replace batteries? This could be the only issue if you hide it in a good spot that makes accessible difficult

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know that personally yet. Haven't had it long enough.

  • @Donald18-n3r

    So where do you hide it...without being found within a minute....plus it must be traceable with the right equipment....I think

    Boy, they got an app for airything. When I travel, I use a disc lock. If the thief is strong enough to lift it and cart it off, I ain't fighting with them. Still puts me in a bad place without a smartphone. No way to call an Uber to get me to the bus station...

    How long before you actually got the call from the time you moved the bike? Sounds like good product specially utilized with brake lock with alarm. Thanks for the review.

    Wonder if it could be put inside your handlebars and still get signal? Be a good place that a thief wouldn’t be looking.

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a really clever spot, not sure if it would work but I'm not going through all of that work to figure it out lol

  • @MFizzle777

    Insurance doesn't really give you the money paid for your bike and is a rip off because your premiums go up costing you more money so they don't lose but you do for paying them money you will never get back anyway and that's with them trying to find ways to not payout anyway!

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not only about recovering the money you paid for the bike but also the medical payments, loss of life payments, and property damage payments. The $20,000 loss would hurt but wouldn’t bankrupt you, the several hundreds of thousands with the other aspects would.

    Thrown in jail. Sure. Anyway, I'd have some places to bury it, just don't know what the signal would be like under tupperware. The other thing is, my bike is older. If someone stole it, well, I'd be surprised. Very cool though. I think the spot stuff really has different uses, no? Travelers use spot as opposed to security, at least in the circles I participate in.
