    To have your first actual slump in your life happen on your MLB debut has to fuck with the head so much. Im really hope he doesn’t struggle with this mental part, the mental toughness part. That can literally end careers before thy start, and often that’s the case for why talented MiLB players never make the show. I hope he pulls through it and comes back and succeeds. Not an Os fan but you never wanna see that, you don’t wanna see that kind of failure.

    You know who else had a bit of a rocky start and struggled in the minors until he got some good mentoring in the MiLB instructional league? Chipper Jones. 😂 I bet people wrote him off back then too. He didn’t mess up his debut but he almost didn’t even get one.

      it's extremely rare for a 20 year old to come up as a hitter and not struggle early on.chipper trout griffey arod all struggled at first.

    Eventually he'll be fine. Go up and down a few times this season, put on some muscle and hone his plate skills and he'll be a beast next year 💪. It took Westburg,Cowser and others that were in the same position as Jackson was time to adjust to Major league pitching

    I didn’t read every comment… but the O’s tv feed posted a stat that showed Gunnar and Adley didn’t set the world on fire in their first 40-50 ABs either! It’s a process and he’ll be back and ready to Jack-some

      People forget that some of the best to ever play struggled in their come up. Chipper Jones almost didn’t even make the show. He was mentored by some badasses in an instructional league and honed his switch hitting, got his call up and nailed his debut. But he almost didn’t even get one. Thank Willie Stargell for helping chipper fix his swings.

    This is why Baseball is the hardest game there is. Especially at the professional level. Don't believe me? Step into the box and try to hit a 100 mph fastball that you don't know where its going. He'll be okay. His daddy was a good hitter so he's got good advice from a personal level to help him out. Good luck son. 😉👍🇺🇸

    According to some O’s insiders (recent info), if JH continues his recent “return” to form, he may get called up for good as early as the ASG. I’m not sure if they are waiting for the strikeout count to go down or what, but supposedly they are monitoring acutely.

    I still say he should have been up after spring training. He was red hot and full of confidence so they call him up when he starts slumping? I guess they know what they're doing

    Dude is 20. I mean come on. Very few probably under 1% come up to the show at 20 and stay. He will make adjustments, continue to grow, continue to learn, and be back up in September for sure. Another solid off season and spring, he has all the skills to be a mlb day in day out player
