It's the LAUNCH that gets you ...The drop isn't that bad at all.... People dont realize that because its looks so tall ( and it is ) but it's as close to a rocket launch to the moon as you'll ever get... Best coaster by far
There is just no way to describe that initial launch. I have never experienced a launch that powerful on any roller coaster, plane ride etc. The Gs are so strong that I remember I tried screaming but it felt like someone was pushing my chest and everyone else got quiet too until you reach the top and take a breath and then everyone screams again when it goes back down. What an adrenaline rush. You really don’t understand how big it is until you get there and see it for yourself
The scariest part of this ride isn’t even the height; it’s having to stare at what you’re about to go through while you wait to launch. That and the launch itself.
Long live the king! 2005-2024 Thank you for all the memories Kingda Ka! You will be sorely missed by the coaster community, fans, the park and the amusement industry itself! 🧡💚💙
Me and my little sister went on this when she was 8-10ish age. When we were being loaded in, she started crying out of nervous energy. A lady waiting for the next car asked me her name and I told it to her. The lady and the whole crowd of people waiting started chanting her name to cheer her on and go on despite the nerves. And she did it! Nice memory from Six Flags that day, and what a nice crowd 🙏
Compared to all the other POV's this one definitely looks as close as it would be if you rode in real life. This ride is definitely breathtaking and not for the faint of heart.
Shame on Cedar Fair/Six Flags for not even giving notice to it closing. Closing what probably is the world’s most famous rollercoaster is one thing but not announcing it until after the season is over is evil and feels like a huge “F you” to fans
The thing about this ride that can make it easier than a traditional roller coaster is that youre launched instead of the chain pull up the hill as the ground slowly pulls away from you. Youre adrenaline is pumping and you dont have as much time to worry about the height as you would normally.

Why would any theme park remove a ride like this? It’s big, fast, and draws heavy crowds. In what world is removing something like this going to be a good decision?

Hands down the best rollercoaster I have ever experienced. The day I heard about this ride opening, I wanted to ride it. However, I lived on the other side of the country. About 10 years later I happened to be in the area. The park had just reopened after its winter closure and made it a mission to stop pay $70 bucks to enter and ride 2 times as I could not stay long. If you ever have a chance to experience this ride, DO IT!!!

I’m honestly surprised this video is still up. When cedar point refurbed top thrill dragster into top thrill 2 the original pov of dragster on their channel was removed so fast
I live in jersey, go to six flags all the time. It has be a really clear day to see New York, but you can on a good day. Philly, no. It’s too far out west from Jackson Nj
I think because it twists on the way down it takes away from the intensity of the drop. I haven’t ridden it but i can tell a lot from a good POV video.
Yeah, do they do that so people won't fall out on the drop? But doesn't make much sense because Superman Escape from Krypton hits about 400 feet while suspended and then goes back straight down. 🤔
i just went on this ride 2 times in a row today the launch isn't that bad because you can feel it because you get pushed back a little before launching and you hear a click. the launch is very quick and it wont catch you by surprise. going up the peak isn't that bad then at the top you don't feel airtime from my experience its definitely scary because i was able to see all of the fast food places not in the park from the top. the ride down is fun and after that the brake hill doesn't even feel like a hill its more just like a flat coaster because I couldn't tell what was happening for a few seconds then you get back in the station slow.
Great ride for a quick speed/drop thrill, but Nitro will always be my favorite ride in this park. Close your eyes leaving the gate, while u climb to the top, don't grab the handles and put your hands up in the air, and wait for your heart to drop into your stomach. When you do open your eyes, you're staring straight at the ground, and the rest of the ride is just so smooth and enjoyable, especially with hands up bc your body flows naturally instead of holding the seat and sort of fighting it. For an even bigger "oh shit" factor, try this in the front row AND the back row. Opening your eyes only once you start to drop, in the front, is absolutely insane.
I went on this on Saturday. It was the most unreal experience I’ve ever had and I HATE rides and heights but I made myself do it. I highly recommend doing it. The force of the launch is INSANE
Glad you had a good ride. Hey, I noticed you’re verified on TH-cam but you only have about a dozen subscribers. Are you an employee/former employee or is there another reason you have that?
Rollercoaster enthusiast here: It's worth a ride if you want the experience of the tallest roller coaster in the world. However, on its own it's not a great ride. The wait is likely going to be extremely long since this thing breaks all the time. The ride is uncomfortable even for someone who loves rough, thrill rides. You will likely get off with a headache from the rapid change in pressure you experience in the ascent. There are enough G's to make some people pass out. Ride it once for the experience if you are good with intense rides. It'll be fun enough. Generally not worth the wait though.
how do you get used to intense rides? im asking since you’re a rollercoaster enthusiast. im only 18, i am terrified of heights. i went on skyrush at hershey park, and it was so bad i ended up with like a bad headache, i even almost passed out on the ride. i really wanna have fun and enjoy the rides but i hate the feeling it gives me :(
@@kat9526honestly, my best bit of advice is breath out on every decent. that makes the world of a difference. i got Hershey park seasons passes and within 3 trips i’ve done every coaster with ease after not ever being on a coaster. try it and see if it works for you, it’s honestly changed the game for me
@@kat9526 Honestly I'd just say start with less intense rides and work your way up. That works for the mental part, which is just getting used to it. Some rides that are really intense I don't think you really can get used to. Some rides are just hard on the human body and will give headaches or make you sick. IMO, those rides aren't usually worth it. I personally enjoy an experience with thrill, but without actually being unpleasant. A lot of rides advertising how intense they are (especially if they were designed during the coaster wars in the 2000s) are just bad rides. I know I've only encountered feeling physically unwell on a few rides, but I was scared of a ton of roller coasters in the past. If I was too scared, I'd go on something else in the meantime and if I was feeling brave after conquering that ride, I'd move on. It might be within one day you feel up to it, or it might be after multiple theme park trips. Just make sure you enjoy your time. It's not supposed to be a chore to work yourself up to intense rides, and anyone who judges that it usually just a snob lol.
I really wish I lived near Jersey so that I can go here and ride this. It looks terrifying and what I’ve learned from riding coasters is that the more terrifying it looks, the more fun it is. I’ll definitely try to come here one day even though it’s extremely far from where I live
Enjoy! Kingda Ka looks so much more scary than it is. It lasts like 10 secs... it's all about the launch. It all happens so fast you don't even feel anything in your tummy.
I'll bet even the longest lines on this go pretty quick vs other coasters, though. The launch process and shortness of ride minds me of the old Viper looping coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, but of course that was a different type of looping coaster that simply went backwards again.
Can tell you from experience, really depended on how well it was launching any given day. Days with more wind had more spread out launches. Some days they would do a test run or two between runs
I hate heights so much and this is too high to do man 😂. I’ve been on plenty rollercoasters and stealth in Thorpe park is like half the height. The speed on that you forget how high you are, but this height makes me sick. At least it’s fast I can’t stand going up a rollercoaster slow, but I’m fine after the drop tbf lol
I’m going to Six Flags tomorrow 💀 100% going on this wish me luck guys. Edit: I went on it yesterday, wasn’t as scary as I expected. Scariest part is waiting to be shot up to the top.

I live in jersey, go to six flags all the time. It has be a really clear day to see New York, but you can on a good day. Philly, no. It’s too far out west from Jackson Nj
I went on this ride and the up is WAY worse then the down. The down barely feels like anything.
you can blame the inversion. without it king da ka would be so incredible
I think because it twists on the way down it takes away from the intensity of the drop. I haven’t ridden it but i can tell a lot from a good POV video.
💀
Spot on. Try it for yourself!
Yeah, do they do that so people won't fall out on the drop? But doesn't make much sense because Superman Escape from Krypton hits about 400 feet while suspended and then goes back straight down. 🤔
@Jeremyscratchnow I honestly felt like the superman launch was more intense than kingda ka
i just went on this ride 2 times in a row today the launch isn't that bad because you can feel it because you get pushed back a little before launching and you hear a click. the launch is very quick and it wont catch you by surprise. going up the peak isn't that bad then at the top you don't feel airtime from my experience its definitely scary because i was able to see all of the fast food places not in the park from the top. the ride down is fun and after that the brake hill doesn't even feel like a hill its more just like a flat coaster because I couldn't tell what was happening for a few seconds then you get back in the station slow.
Exactly
If I went on this, my soul would jump out of my body for a good year or so. Idc if it’s really short.
They said it's :28 seconds
first day ever riding roller coasters i rode this my 5th ride once inna lifetime opportunity u won’t regret it
@@garrett6455 I mean there’s multiple great adventures my guy lol and ion think they’re going anywhere 😭
I need to go on Kingda Ka before the summer ends.. I just hope that its not temporarily delayed the next time i go
I got to go on it tonight, it was delayed the whole day and opened at like 8:30
Love the music that is playing before the launch!
This is the smoothest video of Kingda Ka I’ve seen, the camera barely shakes.
I mean it's from the official six flags great adventure park
King da ka is only smooth in the front
Rode it for the first time yesterday. Definitely a serious thrill. Very smooth ride but you do feel the speed and the wind!
Glad you had a good ride.
Hey, I noticed you’re verified on TH-cam but you only have about a dozen subscribers. Are you an employee/former employee or is there another reason you have that?
Rollercoaster enthusiast here:
It's worth a ride if you want the experience of the tallest roller coaster in the world.
It's a one-time ride and I'm never coming back
how do you get used to intense rides? im asking since you’re a rollercoaster enthusiast. im only 18, i am terrified of heights. i went on skyrush at hershey park, and it was so bad i ended up with like a bad headache, i even almost passed out on the ride. i really wanna have fun and enjoy the rides but i hate the feeling it gives me :(
@@kat9526honestly, my best bit of advice is breath out on every decent. that makes the world of a difference. i got Hershey park seasons passes and within 3 trips i’ve done every coaster with ease after not ever being on a coaster. try it and see if it works for you, it’s honestly changed the game for me
@@kat9526
Honestly I'd just say start with less intense rides and work your way up.
First time today, headache corroborated
Me on the top: STOP THIS GOD DAMN RIDE I DIDNT SIGN UP FOR THI- AHHHHHHHHHHHH
The math and physics nerd in me loves this. The brains it would take to design a coaster like this is amazing.
There's a documentary on it that you can watch
@@JerryOrbachFan imagine the maintenance people fixing the top…. How the fuck
Ya'll are insane to close this ride, I'd have flown across the country if I had known it was shuttering ):
Me: “Oh cool looks fun, doesnt look too bad!”
Reality Me: Goes on the ride
Me: F*CK HOLY SH*T I REGRET EVERYTHING F*CKK
This was my first ever roller coaster I’ve ridden to.
@@GamerGuy0623 Nice i hope it comes back up though
This is me on every coaster I go on
I really wish I lived near Jersey so that I can go here and ride this. It looks terrifying and what I’ve learned from riding coasters is that the more terrifying it looks, the more fun it is. I’ll definitely try to come here one day even though it’s extremely far from where I live
Make sure you also check out El Toro and Nitro when you come. It's a 6 hour drive for me but I go quite a bit.
It's really not bad at all. Major rush that lasts 20 seconds.
Bro why in camera it looks like it’s not that bad but in person It looks so scary
Cos your in the comfort of your seat which is not moving 128mph
@@bubbletea8793 facts
This ride was crazzzyy!!!! Your balling straight forward for like a quater mile then it shoots up the sky and you know if your gonna make it lol
Absolutely incredible ride. Worth the hype as the world's tallest coaster. A little underrated in the coaster enthusiast community.
as a european going to the united states for the first time i can't discribe how hyped i am to hopefully ride Kingda Ka in nearly 3 weeks 🎉
Have fun
Enjoy! Kingda Ka looks so much more scary than it is. It lasts like 10 secs... it's all about the launch. It all happens so fast you don't even feel anything in your tummy.
@@JaseBounceThe giant hill is fire though
i just rode this today. its crazy how many Gs it pulls on you face lmao
Rest in Peace to the tallest roller coaster in the world. Absolute Legend.
I got myself to go on this at night and it was awesome you could see everything
do they close this ride if it is raining? any of the rides?
Not sure if they close it while it's raining, but I rode it shortly after it finished raining.
I think only lightning
Six flags great adventure can you keep kingda ka and not close kingda ka forever and not get rid of kingda ka during the 2025 season please?
I’m going to Six Flags tomorrow 💀 100% going on this wish me luck guys.
Edit: I went on it yesterday, wasn’t as scary as I expected. Scariest part is waiting to be shot up to the top.
don't scream challenge
I couldn't even close my eyes wins is so bad
I might go on this on Friday 😟
Hands up all the way!
bro i’m going in like 30 minutes how bad is it?
Senior trip 2012, I remember hearing one of my best friends 2 rows up screaming like a bitch before the launch even happened lol
That never even happened either because the ride only seats 4 at a time. lol
lol I love how you are telling me something I experienced in life didn’t happen, make that make sense to me
Just rode this (7 times) for the first time this week and all I can say is OMG, KINGDA FREAK'N KA!!!!!
Because no other words or video can do this insane experience justice.
I mean, Top Thrill Dragster can give you one that’s similar
