Your math was spot-on. It's exactly how I figure my borders. I enjoy making different and unusual borders. Very rarely do I just use a single piece of fabric for a border. Great video, especially for newbies. Don't be afraid to try mitered corners. They really are quite easy. Thanks.
Loved the video you explained it so it makes sense if you stop and think about how it’s going to look not just the numbers. I was looking for something to do around a panel I think this will work fine and quick.
Nancy, I'm very much a beginner quilter so my question may be asking the obvious - do I sew the side borders on first? Got a bit lost trying to wrangle with the maths but am getting there. Thanks for great tutorial.
Hi Karen, I'm not sure what you are asking? How to attach borders to a quilt? Here is a play list of 10 videos I have done on how to attach borders th-cam.com/video/zwUPcsRU0PI/w-d-xo.html
Hi Marlene, in a couple weeks I will do a whole one on the Sizzix Big Shot and then you can decide - one is not better than the other, just different. And then i will do one on the Brother Scan-n-Cut - i love that one too!!
I am piecing a piano key border and the cheats mitre corners are just genius Many thanks

Hi Elizabeth :) - yes, generally you sew the side borders on first and then the top an bottom. Thanks for watching !! Happy Quilting - Nancy
@@QuiltingWithNancy Thanks Nancy ☺ and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year from Dublin, Ireland
As usual, a fantastic tutorial. By the way, where is your signature bracelet?
Hi Lylian - I knew someone would notice!! I was just checking to make sure - You will see it again :)
I watched and was thrilled. But when I went to attach ... quite a different story. Please show how you attach them.

In a different video you showed the Gemini cutter--which is a better cutter--the Sizzix or the Gemini?
