Great shout man. Genuine dude, not trying to sell it or make out that it was more than it was. You could see the leading questions from Roland in the way he answered haha! Still clearly very happy with the pedal though and if he says it’s good, that’s a pretty solid stamp of approval! 😊✌🏻
you probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend these days =)
schecter devil custom, was out for about 3 years came in orange (seen) green and red. i have a red one and i dont have any idea why they stopped making them. incredible guitar, can be found used for about 3-400$ and were new around $700 in their day. emgs, grover tuners, neck through. really a good package.
i've been using this for about 6years now...and i dont want to let it go coz i love the versatility specially for me who play a lot of covers...,but im really waiting for ROLAND to have a wireless system for this unit like FISHMAN TRIPLE PLAY DID....i always having trouble with their 13pin cable because it gets break or damaged so EASILY like after 1 or 2 months of usage.. and for me ofcourse that cable is not that cheap.. even im really taking care of the cable..hopefully ROLAND company WILL hear me out.
I have red hair. And a stepfather. I've also been abandoned. My GK-3/GI-20 setup has been neglected for so long... No new hardware in this line is a major bummer. Playing hardware and soft-synths with guitar is like being thrust into the multiverse. Also, Dude is beyond inspiring.
This is not criticism. It sounds like almost all the sounds are coming off the old Yngwie malmsteen albums and that is dapper! All the tones on his older albums were so fantastic and they were beautiful settings for the guitar, the keyboards, and all the instruments.
Wow totally awesome sounds! Just wondering....isn't Al Di Meola using the same gadget as well? I recognize the sitar sounds like how he used it in Egyptian Danza.
great unit....i'd like to see roland work with ibanez on one of these with a pickup installed, or music man...fender is a bit limited with their offerings so far
I was wondering if it was going right into the speakers or possibly a Roland cube? It doesn’t make sense though because it was clearly being recorded but to where is my question since there was no mic placed to record the speakers or unit on top.
Is there any problem with latency ou low tracking? Have you ever compared this to other GRs such as 20, 30, 33 or any other guitar synthesizer? Are those guitar and amp simulations really good? I mean, do they worth the Money?? What about VG88 simulations? Thanks for your answer!
Egyptian Danza was recorded in 1977, the GR-55 came out in 2011. So no. There are no "sitar sounds" in Egyptian Danza: there's a keyboard pad used by Barry Miles with a vaguely "eastern" feel to it, bit nothing remotely like a sitar.
0:45 You've never owned a GR-500 if you telling us you could play piano stuff on it... I have had one for many years and there is no way in hell that is going to sound like a piano
yep, music is endless. I also believe when that if you say: "im actually pretty good" you have a problem. always look forward, learn more. not to become the best, just learn cause you love it ;)
I have YET to see why this is worth 900.00. It doesn't do enough for ME personally buy it. Everything this guy did can be done cheaper with individual pedals
cheaper with individual pedals? You've lost your damn mind. Just the few sounds things he displayed in this video would cost you thousands of dollars in individual pedals. "You Dumb".
I think someone shouldve reminded him that the video is supposed to be about the roland gr-55 and not Jeff. He demonstrated maybe a 10% of what it will do . Alex Hutchings videos on this are much more insightful into the product itself .
Guitar aside, I'm thinking Dude, cut your hair. That stringy mess might have brought in the chicks in '84, but it just looks like hell now. Oh, and great guitar playing!
This man has a way with words. True poet.
THIS IS A PHENOMENAL VIDEO..I HAVE A WHOLE NEW RESPECT FOR MR.LOOMIS..
He is a down to earth man and that's another plus for him in my opinion,he surely gets my respect
"It took him to a new level of musicianship" I didn't realize that was possible hes so amazing !!!
Love Jeff's work.probably my favorite modern day guitar player.
what a humble and inspiring guy
I know this is basically a glorified advertisement, but Roland did a really good job here, Jeff Loomis is a great player and down to earth dude!

I believe even Jeff underrates himself
you probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend these days =)
@Charlie Decker yup, I have been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :)
@Charlie Decker yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for years myself =)
"im a fairly decent guitar player." i love it! this dudes one of the best in the world! fairly decent! haha
He actually shreds on the piano too, there's a video of him in studio, playing some classical thing flawlessly.
PHENOMENAL..
JUST OTHER~WORLDLY~☆☆☆☆☆!!!!!
ya really ..great guitar and things become awesome when jeff play it....
jeff influence me a lot . i see him as the best ...
I love Roland amps I have a cube 30 and I have had it for 9 years and it is pretty much the best thing ive ever bought

Jeff, you just convince me to buy GR-55 Guitar Synthesizer. Awesome!

She Comes in Colors
Really beautiful sounds, and the tracking is awesome. The GR 55 syn. Is HOT. Also he's a hot guitarists. Barry
first time i saw jeff playing a guitar other than its signature hellraiser ;p
The only unit on the planet that will blow your ass out of the water ,the best ,the top brand ,the master of guitar accessories gr 55 Roland

He had an axe fx long before misha and those guys, he still uses this.
I Jam with the piano it helps me alot n it's cool 🤗👍👍
Muy buen guitarrista y muy buen equipo.
Wow totally awesome sounds! Just wondering....isn't Al Di Meola using the same gadget as well? I recognize the sitar sounds like how he used it in Egyptian Danza.
thank you - I found it out meanwhile. Awesome guitar - you´re a lucky man to have such a guitar ........
if he was a little older when he was auditioning for megadeth, I bet he would of done a killer job with his style.
Is there a setting anyone can recommend to get Jeff Buckley’s hallelujah I need it for my church
sitar reminds me parts from the songs of enemies of reality! cool! Jeff knows what to use.
best ever!
loomis is king
Great job Jeff Some of the people doing these demos are really cheesy but you did a great job
i like how jeff says he cant play piano that great, when theres a vid on youtube of him tearin up the piano like hes been plying his whole life.
I want to know too... It's very beautiful

Thanks
Welcome
Damn, I´d love to have one.
"She comes in colors" The obsidian conspiracy album.
sounds like She comes in colors by Nevermore from Obsidian Conspiracy cd. That's genial song btw :)
Enjoy ..

im trying to figure out if that first solo is from a actual song or its something jeff made up on the fly
What is the best choice on synth sounds, GR 30 or GR 55?
Ah yes, I think you're right. I love that song too, dunno why I didn't hear it. :P
do you know anything about the song from this moment on?
What he plays from 3:28 to 3:41?
what he plays from 0:04 to 1:04 ?
am I the only one who believes that Jeff is underrated?
Can you direct it to the "House" or to the "Console?"
Not using a Guitar Amp like the Helix LT?
It’s made to go straight to PA. Check my video.
What gyitar is he using?
Thanx
What is the first song he is playing?
it's a limited edition Schecter Diamond Devil Custom BRB, it doesn't exist no more.. its a shame..
which guitar is that ?
I'm buying one used but that ok with GK pick up

wow
What's the song he's playing 3:36?
ooooh i like this one
What guitar is it?
she comes in colours by nevermore
Enjoy ..

Where I can't find it.
👌👌👍👍👍👍
Capteur gk3 ?
what track is jeff playing at 0:20
XD
Oh Jeff, you crack me up. A 'fairly decent' guitar player. Lol
All the really good ones show some humility.
0:45 You've never owned a GR-500 if you telling us you could play piano stuff on it... I have had one for many years and there is no way in hell that is going to sound like a piano
will this fit on 7 string, fr bridge ?
Joshua Brawley iv only seen them used on 6 strings, and the spaceing of the pickup covers only 6 strings
from 3:43 so good! I'd like to hear all that without the jeff voice..
is this just simple improvisation?????damn, too much inspiration on this one
"I am a fairly decent guitar player" LMAO what a humble dude!
I wish they could've fixed the noisy dry guitar output, then, it would've been perfect.
I think it's the early model of the Schecter Devil.
yep, music is endless. I also believe when that if you say: "im actually pretty good" you have a problem. always look forward, learn more. not to become the best, just learn cause you love it ;)
what kind of amp is he using?
Colby Williams roland cube 40
GR-55 is best into a clean amp or PA - NOT a guitar amp.
Nice device, however, Variax has better sounding sitar, acoustic guitars ans 12 string
Crazy to see him on 6 string and not his sig guitar
Chulada de pedal
Mine?
I'm guessing it's just to demo the 55. The gk 3 only has 6 pickups!
how did guitarists sound great before all the gadgets? I'm only a fan,not a player so I don't know.
They just had to do and carry around way more stuff before.
genius...
theres a video where he plays piano pretty damn good... wtf?
Don't you think Roland RG 33 synth sounds are better than GR 55 ones?
I wish I was a 'fairly decent' guitar player hahaha.
noice :D \m/
More like bad ass guitar player.
It sounds like: "I really don't care about that thing. I came here to play..."
I have YET to see why this is worth 900.00. It doesn't do enough for ME personally buy it. Everything this guy did can be done cheaper with individual pedals

can I get these same effects with the axe fx 2?
nein davud
jeff can play a 6 string
Yep, he isn't piano player at all... watch?v=eipn_iwI330
He can turn into super saiyan and make shitty guitars and shitty amps sound good.
Hang on, i though this thing could do everything except make hair grow, but maybe I'm wrong. Or am I? : )
When did Amy Schumer get so fucking good at guitar?
HA....Woooooooooo!
Too bad Jeff would never even use one of these. He's giving such monotone answers and looks so bored.
Kevin Kraft he acually has used this pedal live
hes even using it here.
Breaking Benjamin uses it too for Ashes of Eden
Guitar aside, I'm thinking Dude, cut your hair. That stringy mess might have brought in the chicks in '84, but it just looks like hell now. Oh, and great guitar playing!
No.
IT SOUNDS FAKE
