This isn't good though. Retreating. What happens when the start pulling this in other states?
Imagine that in Italy you can't go to the gym without a green pass, you can't go to the restaurant, we haven't been able to ride bikes off-road for 25 years now, you can't play a live show without a pass, etc... This is just about control and to get people to just sit in the house stuck in front of their computers and phones because it makes load of money to a very select few.
What does the pass have to do here ????
Paolo - You're correct 💯
Tell them to stop watering golf courses. The planet is not the problem. Rich old men are.
LOL
Envy of those rich old men is the real issue, not pollution, or dirt bikes, or cars, or airplanes. We could stop all manner of transportation in this country and it wouldn’t affect 1% of the carbon footprint in the world. When this earth gets enough of it all it has a way of healing itself, and if that means some mass extinction event then so be it. Mankind will just start all over again like it has 4 or 5 times in the past or until we get it right, (or not).
No, demonRATS are
CA has been lowering the water reservoirs for years out of concern for fish. Fish that have been living in those conditions for decades. Is that the right priority? Rich old men aren't the problem they've just done a better job of isolating themselves from the problem. Don't let people with an agenda divide us, because that's how they win. Rich old men should be able to golf, we should be able to ride, and we both should be able to sit down together over a beer and talk about how much fun we had.
It’s old women shutting things down. They out live and out vote men.
So older “dirtier” dirt bikes are ok but newer “cleaner” not ok ? That was well thought out.
In my opinion, it seems that they are hoping they will phase themselves out over time. In 5 years they probably figure 1/2 of those current bikes will be on the trails and so on.
Sounds like my dating life

As a life long Californian I can say I’ve been disappointed for quite a long time! I still remember when CA was part of America before the communists took over.
far from communist, its just corporate bias. some industries are worth more than ever. motorcycling is a niche market and less valuable economically say than the auto industry, or shipping industry. Its getting chopped sadly and we the people who barely contribute to climate change have to pay. Not the big corporations like Exxon, Ford, or the real contributors. Thats plutocracy for you.

Hi Rado, we are starting to face similar limitations where I live in Victoria, Australia. The state government has just retitled some State Parks (where it is legal to ride a recreational registered bike) to National Parks(illegal to ride in). This not only now effects all the moto riders, but also makes it illegal to horse ride, hunt, camp, gold prospect etc
This will have major knock on effect to all of the associated industries and businesses.
The State Government had a poll and the majority of the interested parties disagred with this change....but they made the change anyway.
We here are hoping to get this retitlment revoked. But I'm not very hopeful.

It might wise to verify what CARB study was used to make such a determination. I was once told that they used a '73 Yamaha RD 350 taken from a junkyard in an 'As is' condition for emissions testing. Then calculated what the truck or vehicle pollution might be to get to an unspecified riding area. And combined the two test results to obtain a standard. I think the time has come to to press them for legitimacy.

Same rules here in Australia. Bike must be road legal
The whole Green/Red sticker program only really applies to state regulated riding areas or parks, it really has no effect on public riding areas that are managed by the USFS for example, the reason for the red sticker bikes becoming green is they reason that the older the bikes get the less of them there are still in use, they did the same exact thing with cars and the CA smog program, CARB uses these tactics when they introduce new legislation so it appears as though they are making compromise for all the negative effects their laws have on people, CARB also never has unbiased scientific data to support their introduction of such controlling regulation, they say it's to cut back on CA air pollution yet all state registered vehicles used for official state business are exempt from the CA smog program, a program that generates a large income for the state, when CARB was first created they were given unlimited legal power and control in the state legislature, they have gone as far as introducing a bill to require smog control equipment such as CAT Converters on lawn mowers but the bill was killed for having not enough profitable benefit to the state, as far as the AMA is concerned they have never done anything to help the off road community it's just another organization with profit as their sole motivation without providing any real benefit to the people they exploit money from, CA politicians are obviously not very intelligent as they are slowly bankrupting the very people that fund their endless greed, I could go on and on but most already know what I'm saying and are as frustrated and disgusted as I am.
thanks for sharing Rob. however I believe the stickers rules apply to BLM (federal) land as well.. I just checked the website and they clearly state that we need to comply with CA green sticker program.. can you share the link where it shows the opposite? thanks
@@dirtniron It would only apply to BLM managed areas in CA as the sticker program is purely a CA program, I've also never heard of the BLM enforcing the program, it really is only enforced in state controlled parks where you pay to use or enter the park as that is the only way they can actually enforce it, the program is a joke and it does absolutely nothing for the reduction of smog or air pollution in the state but that is the so called reason for it's existence.
All they have to do is meet CA emission standards....
And, the plus to this it the Red Sticker is going away, so all of my Red Sticker bikes won't have to sit in the garage in the summer.
Just stick with a '21, or older bike.
“Just stick with a ‘21 or older” …ok cool for the next year or so, 20 years from now the bikes will be ancient.
@@franzv3172 well,you will be ancient also 😂
@@Evil_Morty2000 this is true…basically there now 😅
@@franzv3172 Take a look at AJ C's series on electric motocross bike... I could babble on...
@@richardpiotrowski1043 I’m an avid mountain biker, let me just say that going electric will not cure the ohv thing. Lots of trails in CA don’t even allow bicycles and e bikes are starting to get banned from mtb trails.
Just remember if you come to a red state from a blue state leave your politics before you come or stay put. People coming to where I live from California are basically ran out of the state we don't need ya, and don't want ya.
Go anywhere but Missouri trust me I've seen cars with California license plates spray painted saying "go home" and a realtor refused to help a couple find a house here they tried to sue and it was thrown out of court. We had a few land owners not sell property to people when they found out where they were from as well.
It's awful because there are genuinely good people there that just want out of the mess but it simply isn't worth the risk for us. If you want decent riding I'd suggest Illinois or Kansas in the boonies up there. Definitely don't come here with California tags though it's not a localized thing it's pretty common all over Missouri for people to do this. Especially in rural areas on a dirt bike I wouldn't mention where you are from if your accent doesn't give you away because your bike probably won't make it to the end of the day without being sabotaged.
Hopefully yall fix your laws and then learn about controlled burns so you can stop being on fire all the time. In the meantime I'd just chill with the talk of moving and start your talks of fixing your own cities and state.
If your career would allow it, you could move to the central or southeastern states. You could have a bigger house and more land to build a track for a lot less money than living in California.
He would be welcome in new Mexico😅 dirtbike heaven if you ask me.
Less is more Bro!
You'd be amazed where I live- Southern Colorado Mtns.- off road vehicles are allowed IN TOWN & we have hundreds of thousands of acres of Nat Forest land and user designated trails and riding areas & trail systems.
The southeast is being totally destroyed by outsiders moving here!!! We do not need the crowds getting worse!!!
Is it only applicable to Two strokes..? Most of Australia its illegal to ride any unregistered bike on public land
The gun community now welcomes the mx community to the rediculous restrictions club. Not trying to get political but I have plenty of friends who are in to both hobbies and now they're gonna get double screwed.
Yeah, that sucks.
As a European it's worse. We can't even imagine being legally allowed to ride any dirt-bike anywhere except on private land, tracks and organized events.
I also dislike that you have to look over your shoulder constantly for police or rangers when you do decide to go to through the woods for a short ride.
I've payed fines, ran away, payed more fines,... and eventually resorted to just go to the track, private land or organized events.
Needless to say, I hardly get to ride once a week at the local track and maybe once a month at an event on the other side of the country.
And the cost adds up ridiculously: car, car license, car insurance, tax, fuel, trailer, trailer license, trailer insurance, bike, bike license, bike insurance, bike tax, bike fuel, off-road license, entry fees,...
I'm thinking it's cheaper to look over your shoulder and ride in the local woods now!
All the more reason to forget California ever existed....I don't know how anybody lives there. AZ for the win! We got so much open land that they couldn't enforce something like that....plus, they can take their "green" stickers and shove it.....I've been riding with an offroad sticker this year....first time I've ever had one....in 25 years of riding, lol
Arizona is out of water, good luck.
So what about pre 2022 bikes with red stickers? Are we allowed to use those or the same law applies?
yes if you have red sticker, they were not supposed to get one but some DMVs and dealers still issued it. Good for you Bryan!
I've been reading about it! It appears that you will still be able to ride on federal blm land.
until they say you cannot...
@@jjmckay6man1 Sorry to say it is ANY public land, whether state or federal. Currently they are only allowed on private property or at a race. We are still trying to get CA bill SB227 through the gov't channels which would at least allow riding the new "illegal" bikes to be ridden for "practice" certain days a week. I also just saw a report that 7 other states are going to follow California's CARB lead, so be careful who you vote for wherever you live.
Eff California, it’s been taken over by jackasses. I grew up there and spent over 25 years but my entire family moved out along with all of our income, our income and sales tax, property tax and moved to Arizona. Come on out and enjoy the ride!!!
I would leave the liberal communist state!
