Update: I know a lot of people have had issues with TR Data taking forever to copy over, after consulting with the TR team, I recommend using 7-zip's extract feature for the process, as it will be much faster than manual copying.
I agree with others here, GREAT guide. The screen caps were especially helpful. When I installed TR a couple of years ago it took me a solid afternoon with only their website to help. I wish I had this video, back then!
Great video, but I have one *small* issue... the resolution of your monitor is very high and it makes the windows you have open very hard to read. Especially for us folks born in the 1st era lol
People having trouble with TR Data taking forever to extract, just extract the downloaded file right where they are in Downloads first (in their own file obviously, you don't want them all strewn about in your Downloads folder) and then once finished move all of the content over to morrowind's Data Files. Extracting straight to another destination seems to cause problems.
Thank you for the guide! Made a lot easier to get back into TR. Could you do a guide for adding the music to OpenMW? Last I heard the OST wasn't compatible with OpenMW
Man I had this installed perfectly with the Andothren version before the recent update. And when Project Cyrodiil released it didn't work so I figured I better delete all the files and uninstall Morrowind and just redo it to see if it would work. Now Tamriel Data keeps having mesh problems so i hope this video will help. Idk how I did it before because it used to work perfectly but now it won't even get past Jiub in the beginning before the mesh stuff messes it up lmao
That is odd, I would double check that you have the new TR Data downloaded, everything got an update when Abecean Shores came out. Even still, it shouldn't affect the base game areas, are you running any other mods?
Is it normal if just after configuring the settings on the morrowind launcher when you click on data files etc and click on every case it needs to… hum when the game is loading it tells me that their is many dialogues not found or something like that a few times THEN I arrive on the morrowind menu and I click on a saved game and then BAM the game crashes… so… idk what did I miss anything important I guess
Thanks for the guide! Any idea on why I have just a few purple missing textures in the TR area? Just a couple faces, a few boats and crates, and some signposts are purple, but most everything else works fine so far.
Sounds like it might be an issue with some of the TR_Data Files. Double check that it is version 10.1 (HD archive should be titled Tamriel Data (HD)-44537-10-1-17033 72988) and drop it into your data files folder again, letting it replace the previous files. Do you have any other mods installed?
@@Gitshiver All the files should be at 10.1, I downloaded them yesterday from the official Tamriel Rebuilt pages. I'll reinstall and get back with the results. I am on an otherwise-vanilla OpenMW (no Firemoth plugin either), but my base engine game has the Morrowind Code Patch, MGE XE, and Morrowind Optimization Patch. Not sure if those three could effect the OpenMW install, though.
It should show up no problem, I'd double check that all the mods are active, even if they were older versions or there was a conflict you'd be able to at least see the mainland if they were activated.
Thanks for making this video, it's a really helpful guide! I'm very new to downloading mods, and I'm stuck at the step of copying the tamriel data files into the morrowind data files. they only took a few minutes to download, but it says it's going to take over a day for them to transfer. Is this normal?? It says there are 35,317 items to transfer, and it's taking about 5-15 seconds with each one. I'm using the GOG version with openMW already installed. Do I need to reinstall morrowind? Reinstall openMW? Delete my saved games? My internet speed is fine, and my laptop is more than capable of running this. if anyone's figured out this problem, please let me know
For load order issues, I recommend using a sorting program like LOOT or Mlox, I personally run both to cover any gaps, they'll work for the original game engine and openmw as well.
@@Gitshiver Damn, I have to use BOTH? I got mlox and did as you said, to no avail. This is why I avoid modding, I'm always one of the people it never works for.

looks like i got no excuses now, time to finally get tamriel rebuilt up and running. thanks for the guide. i gave up on it years ago.
I love how ready it is to install now especially on OpenMW
It's a weird real curse to have some people become tech-dumb. They either know how to play or how to code, NEVER both?!?
Legend, great video, easily explained and well formatted.

dude you're my hero i've been struggling to install this mod for an eternity 😭
Absolutely ripper video. You're a true blue hero. TR seemed so daunting but you broke it down and made it super simple. Thanks mate
VERY nice guide, much appreciated
This will come in handy when I get back to Morrowind. I put some mods on but TR was a bit intimidating
this video saved my life thank you this was amazing all my likes andd subs go to you brother now i can play without accidently bricking my system
Kinda off topic but I installed that morrowind enhanced texture mod for the steam version and it looks awesome
great guide! Still getting used to seeing my name in the videos as a member lol

Glad to hear it! TR is way too good to miss!
Amazing tutorial, thanks bro

This was very useful, could you also give guides to installing other landmass mods like Skyrim: Home of the Nords and Province Cyrodiil?

You sound like Abe. Thanks for the guide, this was helpful.
This is a great guide. Simple and informative.
do you think youd be able to make a video on downloading and installing "Skyrim: home of the nords" as well ?
You replace all the files in Data Files when transferring the Tamriel Data right?
This was super useful. Thanks dude.
Thank you so much for this, sir. o7
You're very welcome!
Hey I'm trying move tamriel data into data files but it literally hours to finish. Is it normal?
im having the same issue. did you figure it out?
It says it’s going to take DAYS for me to download it. This can’t be normal
You are a lifesaver
Thank you so much!!!!
Is it normal for it to take forever to copy tamriel data into the data files? ETA is 21 hours lol
No, it shouldn't take that long
@@JordanDuoos-r5t having the same issue is there a way around that or do we just need to wait it out?
@@TheVinyard88 same here. did you figure it out?
Recutting the files instead of copying worked in a normal speed
Will vortex work for some of the grunt work?
so if I want the firemoth fort, I have to do the same with the link you provided move them folders to data files right ?
With the new releases firemoth fort is baked in, so no need to use either the original Bethesda plugin or the former TR Firemoth Compatibility plugin

@Gitshiver It did end up working after following this. It was really weird though but it got fixed at least.

I just installed TR and SHOTN without OpenMW for the first time, is there a way to get the Skyrim landmass visible on the Global map?
no tamriel mainland file shows up in launcher, i installed both morrowind data and tamriel rebuilt its self and its still not popping up
damn this is helpful

any other mods that would go well with Tamriel Rebuilt?

Took 3 days
i have purple textures and question marks everywhere. i don't know what I've done wrong everything is installed and recognised by openmw?
if you havent figured it out yet i think you have to reinstall "tamriel_data"
Wait OpenMW and MGEXE are compatible now?
No, but you can have them both installed and swap between versions. I was just setting them up simultaneously.
These instructions are terrible
Thank you!!!!!!
