I have auburn hair, ivory skin with lots of freckle, and brown eyes. My girls have brown hair and brown eyes, but my son has strawberry blond hair, and his beard is shocking red, with pale skin lots of freckles, and vivid blue eyes. He blames me for his sunburn issues (you're 30 dear- get some sun screen and quit whining) and his inability to drink coffee. But he likes the red beard- he grows it long, and here in Oregon it's cool. :-)

  • @-7070

Reds, blonds, blue eyes and green eyes aren't dying out, it's close to impossible. Recessive mutations bred to a normal subject make a child that carries the genes, that's called being heterozygous. Becuase of that there's so many today versus when it first began. If anything a few million years from now everyone will have one of the four listed above and mutations spike other mutations which will cause more colors/patterns etc. mutations can only go forwards.

fact 5 is inaccurate, you say they have less hormone that is responsible for feeling 'more' pain. This means they FEEL LESS not more pain, because they have less of a hormone associated with pain. Also the effectiveness of anesthetics is not related to pain, but to how the body reacts to it, it is very possible that the same gene can make you more resistant to types of anesthetics this is not related to the amount of pain receptors or how they react...

The link between skin and hair color and various neurological effects is an interesting one. The melanocytes that give pigment to hair and skin originate in chromatophores in the embryonic neural crest. Anything that affects the development of the nervous system will also, therefore, affect the coloration of the animal, and _vice versa._ It is well known in animal husbandry, for example, that breeding for a docile temperament affects coat colors--it is because of this that domesticated animals have a variety of colors and patterns that do not appear in the wild. It makes sense, therefore, that people with a particular hair color might have nervous systems that behave a bit differently from those of the run of the population.

I'm not ginger, but I have really pale skin.
Funnily enough, everyone tells me I should worry about the sun, but in Australia I have hardly ever gotten a sunburn for instance.
Yet in the UK I've repeatedly had sunburn after like 15-20 minutes.
You would think the Australian sun is more likely to burn you than the British sun... But... It would seem not.
Still, I have to wonder what makes me so pale, given it likely can't be this mutation, and the few dark spots I have are very dark.
Or... Is it perhaps possible having it as a recessive gene has some side effects?
(I know sometimes in spite of what it might appear at first, a recessive gene still does something anyway.)
That's not to say I have the red hair mutation in the first place. - it's just funny that I share some of the characteristics that seem to be associated with it, but not others...

I also have a strong threshold against pain. I had moles burned of my face head and skin with dry ice and did not even twitched.

Being realistic at this point redheads do need to start seriously considering to build their own communities up such that they can in a practical way improve their demographic situation. They need to get away from the marketed social engineering that is consistently used to discourage them from being with each other that uses certain socially enforced preconceptions around redheads dating other redheads and its impact on their social value, often instead encouraging them to give preference to men/women of other groups over their own people. Redheads are actually less than 1% of the world's population, and studies have also shown that eventually carrier genes can also be deselected for across generations through successive mixing that does not favour conditions of pair production taking place (i.e. no social incentive being in place for redheads to be among their people in significant enough numbers to meet a replacement condition), so the chances of it perpetuate exponentially decline. Looking at any logarithmic decay chart over a long enough period of time will show you this effect when a population keeps declining, and doesn't meet a replacement conditions, eventually it will reach zero or a point in which replacement couldn't be achieved even if that were the intention. Prevention is always better than cure, so even for those that believe it would never happen putting a decision on what should be done/not done regarding this matter down to faith and wishful thinking seems ill advised. Actually taking precautions regardless of whether it is true or not that redheads may eventually go extinct will allow at least enough redheads to meet the replacement condition by going out of their way to represent their identity by pairing off with other redheads as a form of pair production that more provides a more certain outcome in terms of offspring. The logic behind chancing it, despite knowing how small and how spread out a demographic is, doesn't seem to hold much water. No serious person would apply this type of wishful logic to a business strategy or their general academic success, so one might consider that the survival of a people and its continuation seems like something even less logical to stake that this to work out the way we expect. Being coddled into a false sense of reassurance by others only tricks redheads into accepting that nothing bad could ever happen to them demographically under any and all circumstances or that there is no possibility that this could ever occur. History alone has taught us to never say never, lest we forget tragedies that have been created by ignoring a problem whilst it is unfolding instead of creating conditions and promoting values to prevent such an eventuality from ever taking place. The notion of a redhead on redhead dating site has been proposed by a few people but needs to actively be supported and realised. Talking about redheads nicely isnt going to support their demographic interests, nor help them represent themselves.

It's bullshit. Climate change does not affect the sun's radiation output. It does affect how many clouds you get, and how hot/arid/desertified the weather gets in most places, but that's pretty much it. It doesn't make you get more sunburn.

It's also not how evolution works. The body itself doesn't know whether a mutation is helpful or not so the idea that a mutation would disappear merely because it's become unnecessary is ridiculous. The only reason a mutation is going to disappear in a population is if it isn't passed on to the following generation(s). That being said, as "gingerness" is a recessive mutation, it may well become rarer in those populations where it's currently more common than in the average world population because of how frequent it has become for different populations to mix with each other.

    • @emmaford2801
      @emmaford2801 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, it's actually incredibly common - for example, I'm ginger, as is my nan. Both my parents have dark brown hair, and I don't know where the ginger gene came from on my dad's side, but my nan and I are the only gingers (my siblings have blonde hair). This happens because when you're ginger you have to have both chromosomes with the gene, so your sex cells will all have the characteristic - all it then takes is your partner's sex cell to also carry the ginger gene (which can skip many generations due to being recessive) to produce ginger offspring
