Well, this is a "deja vu" all over again experience. My wife and I saw Aida in Verona in 2007. They did not sing the national anthem at the beginning...but maybe this is the first performance of the season, I don't know. But the memories of that event are vivid. AND is that Sophia Loren toward the end?

One of Sophia’s first movies was a film of Aida, where she lip-synch for Renata Tebaldi. So that makes it very interesting that she is there.
