Ive said it before and I’ll say it again. We want manufacturers to make older models.

...Sometimes I think the equipment manufacturers specifically order things in odd scales like this to make sure no one can really display them together with other vehicles, they have to be off to one side by themselves. I'm all for there being a bigger scale for people who think 1/50 is too small, but would it kill anyone to settle on some kind of standard? Preferably an existing one where there's already tons of accessories available, like 1/35?
Anyway, nice review, and it looked like the machine could have dug even deeper if you'd put it on a higher surface, there was still about 1 cm of piston exposed on the lower cylinders. Just a shame it's such an oddball scale.

I thought 1/30 scale was popular in China, to my knowledge this brand of Chinese Equipment in full size is not available in North America. We like Deere, CAT and Komatsu with a bit of Doosan. Why would they care about popular scales in markets that the full size machine isn't available in?

@@thor86401/35 scale is the one that looks like it's popular in China, at least on the die-cast front - half the Chinese models in the 1/30 to 1/40 scale range on the Cranes Etc website are in 1/35 scale, and the only other 1/30 model is a piece of access equipment. It is *not* a popular scale for diecast toys outside of China, as far as I can tell, because it's too big and heavy.
As a plastic modelling scale though, it's popular *everywhere*, even in China, which is somewhat weird considering its origins. (1/35 scale was the result of Tamiya, a Japanese model kit maker, making a motorized Tiger tank large enough for two Type B batteries, and then measuring it out and finding it was 1/35 scale. So they made their next kit in the same scale, and then the next, and then suddenly everyone was making kits in that scale...)

Often the OEM just says they want a model, and they want it a certain size and the scale results. I think the larger scale models should home in on 1:32 as it is used for agri and access plant models, and is also a railway scale.

@@CranesEtcTV Oh right, I'd forgotten that 1:32 was a railway scale. That makes it even more curious why everyone on the plastic model side followed Tamiya down the 1/35 path...
