This is going to sound strange, and like I'm not being serious, but I promise I am... This is one of my favourite TH-cam videos ever. I don't know how many times I've watched it, but it's definitely more than 100. That obviously makes me sound insane, but I find your voice and style to be so incredibly relaxing, and you totally trigger my ASMR. I experience some anxiety, but this video, among others of yours, really help me with that. Honestly, thank you. I discovered the video while researching the pellet version of the gun, and ended up getting the 2.5" and 4" models, based largely on this review. I'm saddened to see that you haven't posted a video in some time. It would make me very happy if you would do more airsoft gun reviews. Thanks again, and hope you are doing amazingly!
I thought that the video was very informational and that the creator has done a good job at making this video with a clear budget on recording equipment. 4/5 because of the lack of FPS it shoots and how loud it actually is.
I was considering the Umarex M29, but that made a lot of rattling noise with the shells. Instead I bought the Dan Wesson 715 grey steel. It feels very solid and heavy. I personally don't like rubberized grips and considering making a custom one. I skipped the moonclips and bought rear loading shells instead.
I brought the M29 too. I got to admit the Dan Wesson build much better. It is solid, firm, and just feels premium in many ways. There are wood grips available on eBay, made in Thailand. I have tried already. They looks good. But without the metallic insert, the weight and balance of the gun feels a bit off to me. So I stuck with original rubber grip eventually. But I couldn't resist BIG bore revolver, with BIG cylinder.
damn that version is not available in Denmark only in Gun gray i´d rater have this your version like you say is the Magnum 357 not the same as you write for title ASG Dan Wesson 715 two different guns
Hi, and thank you for sharing with us all that precious information. I will buy this model with 6" barrel. I collect replicas that look like their real steel counter parts. And I think this is one of them. I will probably buy the 4,5mm. I think that there are 2 ammo possibilities for it. Is that right? I saw another video here where it shows that the 6" barrel has in fact a 2,5"rifled barrel. Do you know anything about this?? Again:thanks for the video!!
@@wal8610 Hi!! If you are thinking abut converting thid replica to somehow fire real bullets, please forget it at once! It is impossible, supid and a crime. The first person to be in high danger would be the one who has that gun in his/her hand. Please forget those kind of ideas!!!
Hi. Thanks for the video. Where can i buy this realistic version, without the MADE IN TAIWAN and the 6mm text, as you mention in the clip as well? Also like the realistic rounds, compare to the earlier versions cheap plastic look.
The shells that came along with the gun are already the more realistic metal "bullet head" front. I brought the the gun and spare shells directly from the retail store of my local distributor, which is far more convenient for me than acquire online.
If I recalled my memory correctly, I did mention in the video that I have to trade out my previous 4 inch model in order to replace with this 2.5 inch version. If this replica, just like the real firearm, came with a replaceable barrel package (I wish it would), then I don't have to do that.
@@BadGuyDennis ohhh well there must be 2 different versions, one that i guess is a tad bit smaller but has the *dan wessen * on the barrel in cursive, im surprised no one os comparing these 2 guns
This reply is gonna long. Rifling can only be worked on projectiles which have somewhat of rod-shape. Also, the diameter of the projectile has to be slightly larger than the lands of the rifling in order for the projectile to engage with the rifling to spin. There is tremendous of fiction. This replica is a low pressure system (compared to those of true air gun) and doesn't have the power to overcome those friction. Rifling is a very horrible horrible idea for spherical projectiles. I knew it very clear. My first premium airsoft gun is a MCG Beretta M92F in year 1992 (I still own it). It featured a so-called "Cyclone Barrel System" by the manufacturer, which actually is a rifled barrel. Back then there was no hop-up in airsoft world yet. The philosophy behind MCG of doing so was they tried to create a spinning air cushion around the BB to enhance the accuracy. When the whole system was new and the internal components were tight, we don't see the accuracy was any particularly impressive at all. (Even compared with my entry-level Tokyo Marui spring-powered hand-cocking pistol.) When the gun being played for a while and the tolerance started to lose, we gradually saw the trajectory going weird. The projectiles fly with circular motion in the trajectory in random direction because the BB follows the groves of the rifling! Simply replaced with a tight smooth bored barrel enhances the accuracy, range and muzzle energy, very substantially (many gas leak from rifling gloves with the original factory rifled barrel.) Later, when the concept of hop-up started to emerge in airsoft community (I was pretty early in experimenting this), we found the rifled barrel and pop-up just cannot co-exist. Hop-up will introduce more friction, with the already existing gas leak in the rifled barrel you lose even more power and range. As well as the trajectory was totally disastrous. So, I'm sorry but I have to say that even I know it's gonna offensive, in this case, your idea make no sense at all. However, if, this revolver replica, in air gun configuration, shoot mushroom shaped pellet, then your question might work. (But I have to emphasize again, I play airsoft only. I don't play air gun.)
this is such a waste...you could have basically 4 revolvers in 1 in this way, this making the gun the best in class. It already is on top best, but imagine having it with this possibility... :) Hopefully they will make spare parts at some point in future...
This is a very good presentation. But Tell me please How I can take more FPS from this gun? I have the Old version With all the mods. 450 fps. I want to buy this version ,Do you know any mode? Thank you.
Try bore up the hole in the "primer" of the shell. Use stiffer hammer sping. (But the components will wear faster, and also leads to heavier trigger pull.) Get the long barrel version.
hi very nice video, i really need to ask you a question about the revolver ,this version its made to work with plastic BB only? its possible to use 6mm crystal (glass) bb and metal 6m bb? i afraid it will damage the bore of the revolver.
culio pistillo Short answer is no. The barrel is made of aluminiun, and it has a hop-up unit. When those BB pass through the hop-up unit, the BB is very likely to make contact with the underside of the barrel lumen. Those BB made with materials you mentioned is harder than the barrel. In long runs, those BB will gradually eat out that barrel section. If you really want to shoot metallic BBs, there are 4.5mm airgun version.
I just found a 6mm 2,5 inch silver version on Evike.com. But the one they sell on Evike.com has a orange tip in the barrel. Do you know any web store where you can buy one like yours without the orange tip? Thank you.
I live in a place where real firearm is pretty prohibitive. But we are relatively opened to airsoft and we don't have this orange tip issue. Any responsible online store should and will gonna ship the gun with orange tip on to those regions that are legally required. I have no idea who would send you the gun with no orange tip on without getting any trouble. It is more practical to get rid of the tip on your own, rather than seeking one you wanted from the source. I don't think it is difficult. (www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1vngv8/how_would_i_go_about_removing_the_orange_tip_on_a/) Being said though, be advised that removal of the tip on user level might cause you with legal, and in the worst case, even death consequences.
I don't have any proof, all right? But I guess, chances are, very likely, that the tip (which is just a piece of plastic) is attached with super glue (i.e. cyanoacrylate). So heating should be get the job done pretty well. Some high power hairdryer may be good enough. Or you can take the outer barrel apart (demonstrated in my video), submerged in hot water. Make good use of duct tape, masking tape, towels... whatever to protect the metal surface. A more stupid way is take apart the outer barrel, and submerged in acetone (remember to remove the front sight beforehand, otherwise it will ruin the black coating) overnight. Yes, you will end up with a gooey, sticky mess. But at least it leave the metal unharmed.
