Hi everyone, a few of you are interested in the Sidar denim chunky pattern. I have left an email with Sidar customer support regarding availability of the pattern. I’ll keep you posted. Fingers crossed!
That was a lovely relaxing catch up Diane- thank you. Love your jumper. It does look so cosy but I can understand that it doesn’t have the same feel as the original. Interesting your little chat about teas and honey. We drink honey and hot water and you are right that it is great for allergies and colds etc. We have had snow in Cumbria ( England) today but the sky was blue and the hills so clear - just beautiful on our walk in cosy knits. Take care until next time.❤
How lovely is that bag Diane, and with that lining... just beautiful. I'm with you when it comes to honey with my tea. Herbal tea every evening is my ritual, and I never use sugar, always honey. Also, try putting a bit of ginger (thin slices or grated) in your fresh lemongrass tea... it's really nice. Kisses. Ivana ❤
Good evening Ivana, yes I will definitely try a slice of ginger with the lemongrass tea. Thank you for the tip. You looked absolutely beautiful and radiant in your wedding photo. Have a nice weekend.
The knit bag is very lovely, such a great bold design! Using scrap yarn to swatch and practice techniques is a great idea! I love the swatch with the edging - it would look so pretty on a sleeve! Thanks for the book recommendations!
Ok good news! I found the pattern in Sidars Heritage Collection. It is copyright protected, however you can purchase an authentic reproduction of the printed original from Sidar for $4.45 at Sidar.com. You go to the Sidar.com website. From the home page go to heritage collection, scroll down to 80’s, in the search bar type 5897 and you will find the pattern. I’m so happy was able to find it and that it is still available. Enjoy make this vintage pattern!
Thanks Diane for such awesome podcast! It is a treat to watch you talk about knitting and lifestyle. Growing medicinal herbs is awesome! Tea can be very expensive. My daughter gave me some tea from a tea advent from a Paris company. It was very lovely but very expensive. Yes, trying to grow some herbs and cultivate it into some awesome tea is wonderful. I grow mint, lemon balm, and some times lemon verbena if I can find it. I infuse it and make tea. I dry the mint for tea for winter. I’ve grown hissop and lemongrass before too. I don’t know enough about them but will read up on it. Yes, I am always knitting for myself or others, never spend the time trying stitches from my Japanese Stitch Bible. Need to start using that book which was a gift! Thanks so much for sharing. ❤❤
Good morning, I was just rereading the comments from my last episode and yours has me so excited about my herb garden. I do grow mint and lemon balm around my stone wall, never thought to dry it and use for hot tea. I often chop it fresh and add to salads and dressings. So I’m already on the right path. I do grow lots of lavender however I don’t love the taste unless it’s in an herbs du Provence and I use it on meats and chicken. I also like to make sachets to put in my closet and near our bed. Oh, I think I see an topic for another episode brewing! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hallå Diane ! Oh oh ooohh that jade Half n Half wrap is my cup of tea. Gorgeous colours. Everything you do is so classy and fresh. Tea is spirit & soulfullness. I love lemon tea with fresh ginger and some lovely honey. Rasperry leaf tea yummie. Anis tea with lemongrass yummie. Lime tea yummie. Plus all black & green tea. Best. Warmly airhugs from a snowy Northern Sweden. 🦋🌱🍋💙💚🙉
Hello Diane, Thanks for another great episode, I am very much enjoying your channel. Your knits are gorgeous and your lifestyle tips and remarks are so inspiring.
Thank you Diane for another wonderful episode. I enjoy the way you describe the projects knitted earlier with such passion. The cabled bag is gorgeous. The handles, the cabling and the lovely lining…just fabulous! I’m definitely going to take a look at the pattern on Ravelry
Thank you for a wonderful knitting time, Diane. Loved watching your swatches and listening to your thoughts about them. Wishing you a beautiful weekend🧶
Thank you Diane for another inspiring knitting break. I love the idea of swatching the different stitches to learn something new. FYI to all viewers. Linen Quill is 20% at Purl Soho through Saturday, March 11. I’m not affiliated with them just thought I’d pass along some savings. Until the next video, I hope your days are blessed. 🌸
So happy to see your vlog this very cold morning, and lots of snow coming in later today. I love my wintertime knitting and snuggling at home. I really love knitting with Linen Quill and I was knitting the “Salty Air Tee” with Linen Quill in the color rhubarb while you chatted. I will be starting my first half and half wrap soon. (Probably in cream and denim blue) Have a wonderful weekend and love from Calgary.
Hi Barbara, great to hear from you. I’m happy to hear you’re nice and cozy and knitting. I have some Linen Quill in Rhubarb and have been thinking about a T. Great minds! Lol.
Love the sweater found some substitutes for the yarn you can’t find any more. King kole Drifter Chunky and Plymouth yarn Woolcotte. Hope that help. Would love the pattern. Thanks Judy

@@theislandlamb thank you so much for your research. I found 8 balls of your denim chunky on a site called Mercari it is like a eBay or Etsy. The lady lives in Illinois. Not sure how many you need. Good luck.
Hello Diane. I’m a new subscriber and I’ve watched many of your podcasts. You have great taste in designs and yarn colors! (That butterfly wrap was amazing!) I searched for the Sirdar denim chunky pattern but wasn’t able to find it on Ravelry or their website. I would love and appreciate if you could share it! Thanks for your channel.
Good morning Laurie, I’ll will try to contact Sidar and see if they still have the pattern in their archives and see what the availability is. Currently off island so it may take me a little while to work on this. In the meantime have a nice weekend!
Good morning, good news I just updated my show notes of my last episode to include information on getting the Sidar pattern! Have fun knitting this vintage pattern!
It was wonderful to see you again. Your Japanese patterns reminded me of a book I picked up at Ollie's discount store. Its titled 'Knitted Socks East and West by Judy Sumner. It contains 30 designs inspired by Japanese stitch patterns. You may be interested in it. A smaller project that you can apply all those fancy stitches to 😃
Hi Diane, Your acrylic sweater is beautiful. If it is in the public domain I'd love to knit it up. I'm wondering if Berocco Remix Chunky would be a good choice for that sweater. I've used the worsted weight Remix before, and it's easy to wear. Just a thought. I enjoy your podcasts. Happy knitting.
Hello! Another lovely episode from you. I look foreword to this every time! I wanted to know if you can share the kitted bag pattern? It is no longer available online. It was a free pattern so I’m thinking it wouldn’t be an issue but will leave it up to you to decide what you are comfortable doing. Thanks again! Can’t wait to come back to the island this summer. I try to get out there every summer for a day.
Hi Mary Ellen, I have emailed Sidar’s customer relations department for advise regarding pattern. I will update the show notes of this episode when I hear how to proceed. Have a nice weekend!
