Our friends over at NG2 Defense brought in an amazing new gun suppressor (often called a silencer). This amazing invention is the product of years of research and R&D and is just now entering the market. We toured their production facility and the whole process is amazing. We tested it at the range and there was a huge difference. It made shooting even that much more fun. So we got a blob of clay and mounted the suppressor to the table of the waterjet and began cutting. I had never seen inside a gun suppressor before, so it was cool to see the design and how it controls the flow gasses exiting the gun. It turned out to be a really cool cross section. We hope you found it interesting. This is the suppressor that we used when we shot the bulletproof glass.
In our shop we have a waterjet cutter and also a hydraulic press and a really old press. Its from WWII era and is really pretty amazing to see how they invented something like that before computers etc. If you have any ideas for interesting videos we could make using the equipment we have, let us know.

Waterjet Channel is the better version of Whats Inside on steroids, but not a sell out and doesn't take 10 minutes to show off what it is

It's not the app that sucks, it's the microphones in the phone. Cellphones don't have microphones capable of picking up extremely loud or extremely quiet sounds. You would need a decibel meter and a pretty special one at that. Most meters only go from 30db - 130db.
The app crashing every minute is not because of the microphone.

Tell that to any gun experts. They hate when people call them silencers. The name "Silencer" came from movies. The original and rightful name is "suppressor" being that it cannot silence a gun at all. Only suppress it. And the function is suppressing it. Silencing it would mean there is no sound at all.
So you are just stupid if you call it a silencer because you obviously don't know the definition of the word.

I started watching this channel because I was curious and wanted to see the inside of things that are hard to cut. Now they can cut up a bunch of full cereal boxes and I'll still watch.

It's not the app capping out. The phone's microphone is not designed to handle anything louder than a human voice. You would need a dedicated SPL meter with a sample rate fast enough to capture the transient of the gunshot. We're talking $$$, not a $60 cheapo you'd find on Amazon.

The app you downloaded was probably perfectly fine. It's more likely the phone that couldn't handle anything louder and couldn't send a louder audio signal to the app. I'm not saying it's a crappy phone though, because a gun makes a pretty loud noise and would probably cause any phone to do that.

LOL!! measure the sound level of gun shots with a phone. Yeah - the app may have sucked, but what sucks even more is the recording ability of the phone it self. Even if the app had worked as it was supposed to, all measurements (regardless of weapon or if the suppressor is on or not) would have shown the same value - the maximum level the crappy built in microphone/audio circuit can take before the wave form is cut off.
But yeah - the cross section of that suppressor was really cool!
The app does not a have a cap. your physical microphone does.
