- Welcome to a behind-the-scenes look at some of the design ideas and manufacturing processes at Bowers & Wilkins, one of audio's most iconic speaker brands. In this 4 part video series, you will see the details of the design and build quality that has made this brand so legendary.
In Part Three, Andy Kerr, Bowers & Wilkins Director of Product Marketing, is leading a discussion of both crossover design and development, and tweeter design and manufacturing.
When John Bowers founded this brand, he dreamed of producing the perfect loudspeaker - of delivering recorded sound that is utterly faithful to the live performance and to the artist’s original intent. We are happy to take you on this journey, and we welcome you.

Hah! His name is Ryan, a talented salesperson who works at our Timonium MD location
8:06 "the more the air pressure builds up".
That seems wrong to me. Air pressure is no being build up. It is not like inflating a balloon. Sound is about variations in air pressure not about air pressure building up. The reason for this water drop form has more to do with dampening the sound coming from the rear of the housing. Well, that at least are my two cents.
Having said that, I am grateful for the factory tour... and I am a bit worried about Chinese (state funded) copy cats checking out every detail of this footage in order to copy the products on display and compete these beautiful Western companies out of their markets.
Hello Anon, it's true that the air-pressurization discussion can actually get very technical and quickly. There are a number of audio issues that folks take liberties with in order to stay out of discussions that can get over the average person's head - fast!
