    Don't buy new window regulator!!!!! I had the same problem with my window and it was due to a missing clip. The cable gets stuck and won't let the window go down. All I did was run a Ziptie around the cable and tighten it where the clip goes. Super easy fix and will save some good money!

    You might not need a new window regulator! My NB had a similar problem, and it ended up being a broken plastic clip that held the cable to the door. The cable was able to move enough to get caught under the window and stop it from moving down. If that's the case you can use a zip tie to hold the cable in position against the door.

    • @sweetielea3194
      @sweetielea3194 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That Nardi wheel is in fact factory, I put one in my NA. Something interesting - the earlier NBs have the Nardi logo on the airbag and nothing on the bottom of the wheel, and the later NBs have a Mazda logo on the airbag and the Nardi logo on the bottom of the wheel. A few tips from a multiple NB owner; retrofit the NB1 light instead of going through the whole conversion and it is way cheaper and in my opinion looks better, the passenger window regulator is most likely good, there is a wire that comes loose from the door and gets caught on the track all you have to do is pop that door card off and ziptie the line out of the way, the Nardi wheel is factory in almost all NBs save for a few early 99s. I have a passenger NB2 tail light and several sets of NB1 headlights if you're interested.

    so happy you got a 99, I have the exact same car except it has 50K miles on it. You should also get a spare main relay and a spare coil pack, those are known weak points in the 99. might as well go ahead and change out that radiator and get a dual core and some silicone hoses while you are at it. Can't wait to the upcoming videos. The NB's big bang for your buck add ons are... from roll bar, sway bar, coilovers, and frame rails.

    Top tip for the gear shifter boot - Take the existing shroud, cut all of the 'rings' out of the middle, and buy a CV joint boot that has a similar size base to the existing ring, and just stretch it over. CV boots are way more flexible & durable than the OEM (or aftermarket) boots, and way cheaper. Just make sure to push the small end down far enough to not interfere with the leather interior boot.
    Note, this is only for the upper rubber seal, not the lower one which seals the oil in the shifter housing.

Did all the other low level maintenance too such as trans fluid, 2 oil changes (1 synthetic and 1 conventional), plugs, wires, and EGR (non oem). The phaser seems to be working properly and was replaced by the previous owner. Could it be the connections? The previous owner replaced the ECM and the immobilizer as well. I understand the appeal of wrap, people can try it at home, cheaper and easier-but it just never looks as good paint ever will. If you intend on keeping it pls go paint. NB Fuel smell could be from the tank filler hose in the back. Whether the hose is just weeping or the connection of teh hose to the fuel tank gets rusty and allows vapors to slip by. I had a good filler hose, but had rust on the connection to the tank. you can clean this up with some sandpaper and it got rid of fuel smell in the car, primarily after you fill up. Not sure if this is same as the NA.

    Ive got about half of that soft-top gap after tightening my latches all the way AND removing the plastic aligners. If you can figure out a way to get it better ill....keep watching your videos. Im too many miles away to offer anything tangible lol

    Gas door just needs some lubrication on the mech as it gets gunked up. Just get it open with non marring level of some sort, then around the hinge, clean and lubricate the mechanism. Fixed my 2003 NB I bought a few months ago like this.

    Another tip for NB ownership. When replacing the lower rubber shift boot get one for the NC. They are exactly the same but the NC version is like $12 while the NB is like $25.
    No need for a window regulator. It's a common easy to fix problem. Just google Miata zip tie fix.

    With the nb only on 2/5% throttle it could be the throttle position sensor.

    Check the vacuum lines at the headlight doors.....common problem on C3 Corvettes when the lights don't pop up or has the lazy eye.

    I'm doing a cooling system refresh on my 93. I would really appreciate some content on flushing the heater core!

      The heater core is just part of the system. I would run a couple of bottles of radiator flush through the system. Drain and refill till it looks happy.

    With my nb the windows would not roll all the way down but it was plastic clips that had broken not the regulator. Some zips ties will fix it.

    re: passenger window, sometimes one of the cables in the door comes loose and snags on the window mechanism, preventing the window from lowering more than 2 to 3 inches. Easy fix!

      @@friendlyreptile9931 Actually did this fix yesterday. Indeed it was the clip broken, and the cable was catching. Used a ziptie and window works great now
