The idea to design the Spring in this video is referenced by me from an another video on youtube. The different here is I put the spring in a defined mechanism with a bolt, nut and washers. The spring is compressed by the nut or the movements of the spring and the upper washer are powered by the movement of the nut.
Here is the link of the video source that I referenced:

First of all, thank you for this detailed tutorial, as well as other videos you have published, keep up the good work!
My question is: Is there no other way to recreate the compression of the spring other than creating it from multiple segments as you've done here? Can it be done with the Helix in a single piece from top to bottom? I haven't been able to find a answer.
Also: When simulating the spring - can this be used in a load simulation, or would it be necessary to combine all of the individual segments into a single body?
Thank you in advance for your response!

      Hi,
As I know that DMU Kinematics Tool in catiav5 (or the old versions of catia) doesn't support to create a simulation for a spring as a single body. However, there are still several solutions to create a simulation or an animation for a spring:
      1. the same way I did (separate a spring into the segments)
      2. create kinematic simulation, activate sensors mode, use Laws (Formula) for the parameters of the spring as height, revolutions or pitch, simulate the spring then use the "video recorder" function in catia v5 to create frames for each step of kinematic simulation with sensor. (for sure, this is not a real kinematic simulation, that's just a way we create a video from many frames)
      3. Use Analysis Tool in Catia
in Catia, on the toolbar -> Analysis & Simulation -> Generative Structural Analysis.
when using this function, the spring will be compressed by forces
