"Legs"....."Sharp dressed man"...."Tush"..... you have only just begun the ZZ Top magic.
T.V dinners as well!
And do NOT forget Rough Boy :)
Tejas also
The old stuff is definitely their best.
Agreed! After those check out
" Pearl Necklace" by ZZ.
" Tube Steak Boogie"
" I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide"
" Got Me Under Pressure"
"CHEAP SUNGLASSES"
Omg I'm reliving high school. Lmao
Zz Top..
Shortened for zig zag and tops rolling papers.
La Grange is a must listen. Thank you BP!
My favorite!!
I concur
Just came here to see if anyone else mentioned it.
La Grange you must listen to you’ll love it
“Tush” is another great song of theirs. That another song I recommend you listen to.
There is an old joke about ZZ Top. When asked if their music was rock or blues, the lead singer said "Yeah".
I´d call it bluesrock, but I am openminded. Any other suggestions, I´d likely accept. Without fighting. In my late teens it was one of the best covers we had (I played drums in a cover band). We never asked for permission to play it, but no worry, we spent a lot more money just doing the gigs, that we earned from doing them. The song is a complete classic - even when it was released.
The car is called Eliminater. Could you please do LEGS video it's awesome 😃🤘🤘🤘💖
If you don't know who Billy gibbons is, and you say their lead singer, just shut up
ZZ TOP IS FROM AUSTIN TEXAS, THAT'S NOT REALLY A HILLBILLY TOWN
So who is the hillbilly, ZZ top, or black Pegasus?
You've hit the jackpot with this band. The lil' old band from Texas. Fun fact, the drummer without a beard, his name is Frank Beard. They did some early stuff (my favorites of theirs) then took some time off. They got back together and were surprised that two of them had grown beards. One had restored a very cool old roadster. They made the beards and the red roadster their style and became ridiculously famous for that look and their music.
They have so many good songs to choose from. I'm partial to their older stuff. "Have Mercy/Jesus Just Left Chicago" is a very bluesy must listen. I'm rather fond of "Going Down to Mexico" and "Just got Paid Today". Those two songs aren't as famous as their later stuff but man do they sound good to my ears. Of their more famous stuff "La Grange" is your best bet and "Sharp Dressed Man" comes in a close second. Sharp Dressed Man is a lot like this song, only better IMO.
ZZ Top is a 3 man southern rock ledgend
Two today. Sigh
Perfect answer, because much of rock and roll was born from the blues.
So, what are ZZ Top songs about? well, some of their titles are: Legs, Tush, Tube Snake Boogie and Pearl Necklace!🤣
Can't forget "Woke Up With Wood".
They're about as subtle as Robert Plant.
Sharp Dressed Man is still one of my favorites.
😂😂
"Sleeping Bag" is another one.
ZZ Top are usually considered Southern rock, but they fall squarely in the blues rock neighborhood of the genre.
This is a triology, Legs, Sharp Dressed Man, Gimme All Your Lovin’. I can name 25 more songs by this band that are every bit as good as this song!!
I worked in a store close to where Billy Gibbons was staying, and he used to come in and show me card tricks. He was a very funny and kind man!
Episodes of the show Bones, and th3 AMAZING documentary on Netflix. They were BEFORE The Blues Brothers, and way more steeped in the deep down southern Blues.
@@yeswe3939 ZZ Top meet Brooks&Dunn is also a show worth watching on YT.
Yes! Time to go down the ZZ rabbit hole
No auto tune, no synthetic sounds - and it ROCKS!
um there is lots of syth in it
They say that the name came from a combination of ZigZag and TOP rolling papers, and the legendary blues man ZZ Hill.✌🏼😎🇺🇸
I believe they were into Bb King and ZZ Hill and wanted to combine them... but they decided on ZZ TOP instead of ZZ KING... they put out tasty jams either way ... shout out from DallasTx 🤘🏽😎
and BB King
TEXAS ROCK AND BLUES !!! HUGE IN THE 70'S AND 80'S ....LEGENDS. JIMI HENDRIX SAID THIS DUDE WAS ONE OF THE BEST GUITARIST OUT BACK IN THE DAY !!!
Jimi only gave two guitarists praises as seeing them as better than him: a 17-year-old Billy Gibbons was one and Terry Kath of Chicago was the other.
Tasty jams these guys put out... definitely helped MTV grow... shout out from DallasTx 🤘🏽😎
The car, the ladies and the key chain are all staples in most of their videos from the 80s
My mailbox key is on that key chain LOL.
Back in the 80's I had that keychain for the keys to a Corvette I owned at the time.
The ladies are the wives of Frank, Billy & Dusty.
ZZ TOP Greatest Hits is one of the best albums ever!
Got You Under Pressure underrated song... tasty jams they put out... shout out from DallasTx 🤘🏽😎
ZZ Top's MTV-era stuff has fun videos, but their '70s music is where it's at. "Low Down In the Street", "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide", "Just Got Paid", "Cheap Sunglasses", just a few of the incredible songs from their first decade.
Fun fact: the third guy, you know, the one without a beard, his surname is Beard :P.
Their most famous song was "La Grange" but also this one and "Sharp dressed man" were very popular back in the 80's.
Cheap Sunglasses, too.
There first hit LA Grange....you have to do this song. They also play the blues Blue Jeans Blues. I'm still asking for you to react to these artists don't get played.
Robin Trower's
Daydream and
Emerson,Lake and Palmer
From the Beginning
Thank you and have a blessed day.
I've always laughed about that. You can't make shit like this up.
Saw them last year. They were so chill, although the third guy was missed. I was thankful I got to see them. Still 🔥
@@JaquelineGoodspeed I saw them open for "Lynyrd Skynyrd" back in 2011 I think it was. They sounded just as good as ever. Actually better.
PLEASE do La Grange!!! It’s my favorite ZZ Top’s song of all time!!! ❤ We used to turn it on in my old apartment and dance our asses off to it! 😂
To prompt you... it is about a brothel in La Grange Texas back in the day....
We had the greatest music in the 70s and 80s! It was a great time to be a teenager ❤
Correction the best music is 60s, 70s, and early 80s
ZZ Top is probably the most criminally underrated band in rock history. They have only a few hits that are heard today, but nearly every one of their songs is PERFECT. "Sharp Dressed Man" is my personal favourite. A fun note, my Dad has two copies of this band's Eliminator on vinyl, one of which HAS NOT LEFT ITS PLASTIC WRAP. I love this band!
"Tube Snake Boogie" "Pearl Necklace" "Tush"
There is a rabbit hole here in ZZ Top. They go way back
been listening to ZZ Top since the 1970's, and only just recently found out about their iconic beards: Billy Gibbons did an interview and the question was asked, and he said that it was laziness on his and Dusty's part, because they had been on the road for so long during their early years in the late 1960's, early 70's, that they just didn't feel like shaving. and it became part of their iconic look!
ZZ Top's music genre is called Southern Rock, and Texas couldn't be more proud of 3 of its' sons!
ZZ Top is great live! I've seen them 4 times over the years, most recently Summer of 2023. The new bass player (who took over for Dusty Hill, RIP) is great and fits right in. That Lil Ole Band from Texas has been making great music for 50 years!
La Grange, Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers, Blue Jean Blues, Jesus Just Left Chicago/Waiting On The Bus All Day, Legs, Sharp Dressed Man, Tush, I m Bad and Nationwide, Mexican Blackbird, Viva Las Vegas.
It's Texas rock!
Tush is the one song I automatically turn up the volume as soon as it begins to play!
For a three MAN band, ZZ Top puts out a lot of sound. They are known as "That little ol' band from Texas", and are revered in that state, and around the USofA. The '33 Ford Coupe Hot Rod, called "Eliminator", like the album, was a part of Guitarist and Vocalist Billy Gibbons personal car collection. The other two are David "Dusty" Hill (RIP) on Bass and Vocals, and Drummer Frank Beard, without a beard. Saw them twice on the "Eliminator" tour, in 1984, and once earlier on the Texas World Tour in 1977. UNBELIEVABLE you could have that much fun. Great opening acts too, 1977-The Dictators, a Punk band from NYC, and 1984-Sammy Hagar, still The Red Rocker, and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. All good all of the time.
Hell yeah this is rock and roll... Saw these dudes in the late seventies front row seats.... When the song cheap sunglasses came on everybody broke out their cheap sunglasses.... It was an awesome show St Louis Missouri
ZZ Top is a reference to cigarette papers called Zig Zags back in the day. They are still around.
I think Top was a brand of papers too....
Oh, cigarette papers too?
They were used to make homemade cigarettes, but were often used to make marijuana cigarettes.
In their documentary they said they liked BB KING and ZZ HILL and wanted to combine them but went with ZZ TOP... they put out tasty jams... shout out from DallasTx 🤘🏽😎
"Legs" is the video sequel to this one. These were huge hits one radio, Mtv at the time. The car was since featured in their imagery.
If you've seen Back to the Future 3, they were on screen during the town festival as part of the band.
You have to consider this song was released in 1983, this video was played when MTV actually played videos. One funny thing about ZZ Top is their drummer was Frank Beard who didn't have a beard lol. Great band.
Definitely helped MTV grow... tasty jams from DallasTx 🤘🏽😎
One of the best rock bands of all time
As a Hip-Hop head you have to do the ZZ TOP version of "25 Lighters" its called "Gotsta Get Paid" SWAG
I was just looking to see if someone commented this, of not I was going to.
They are STILL rocking out. I saw them on tour last fall.
Dude, I was 14 yrs old and my buddy's sister dropped my buddy and I off at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh to see ZZ Tops Eliminator Tour. People just started lighting up joints and passing them around and I was hooked on concerts after that
I've seen them at least 19 shows live. Each one different and so memorable ❤
I'm SSsooo jealous!
3 times here!!
“All your hugs and kisses too!” ❤😂
Texas Blues Rock and Roll right there!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do all their hits...you'll love them "Waitin' For The Bus / Jesus Just Left Chicago" is unbelievable
I saw ZZ TOP THREE TIMES IN SALT LAKE CITY AND GOT TO PARTY WITH ONCE . R-I-P DUSTY. YOUR MISSED
Lmao, your reaction is so funny!! Lmao
These were naughty times. Hahaha. We weren't missing it either. ZZTOP has some amazing songs!! It's rock. We didn't think of the beards as country, and they weren't ever that I know of. Great reaction, again. Much Love!! ❤❤
Love this! You must do La Grange! Billy Gibbons is a great guitarist and one of my faves! They made lots of great music!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Love ZZ Top!!!! Love your reaction...Do more ZZ Top! I agree with Robin - Sharp Dressed Man and Tush!
Texas rock’s answer to Willie and Waylon and the boys. I lived in Texas when they were really hot. Still hit it!
“It’s the punani pudding”😂😂 Great reaction to a great Texas band! Their best, imo, are “La Grange” and “Tush”. They’ve got a ton of jams though. Great share!🤓🤠👊🏼
ZZ Top - Blues Rock with Texas Swing. Check out "La Grange", "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Waitin' For The Bus / Jesus Just Left Chicago"
All the above. Texas, blues, rock.
We got both kinds, blues and rock.😂
That car brings back so many memories. It's a 32 Ford 3 window coupe modle18. Which came with a V-8 Flathead engine, rumble seat, and suicide doors. My dad is currently 87 years old and back in high school, he and his buddy would walk to school each day and passed by a house that had one parked on the side of the house. I believe it was in 1955 during his senior year. His par3nts gave him money to buy his class ring. That morning, they went up to the door and asked if the car was for sale. The gentleman said he hadn't been looking to sell it, but he would consider it. My dad offered him the money he had for his class ring, and it was accepted. He and his friend skipped school that day and pushed it over to my dad's house. When his father found out later that evening, he was livid. I'm not sure what a class ring cost back then, but my father finally sold the 32 in 1985 for 42k... And it's southern rock.
34 Ford.... grille and fenders are drastically different.
@@chrismorey6592 That one was actually 33 that was customized...
All songs are fantastic The music they can produce for just 3 guys is iconic❤ and they put on an amazing show
Actually zztop began their career as a hotrod race band.
Tush and blue jean blues is my recomendation from them.
Cheers
Helios from Greece.
La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man, and Cheap Sunglasses were hits for them. Every time we drive thru La Grange, TX, we have to play that song.
"The Beard without a Beard" is an AMAZING drummer
My first car looked kind of like the white one he was working on. 1966 Galaxie 500, loved that $150 car. Bought it in 1988. Love ZZ Top, La Grange is the one. But they have a lot of great songs. Legs, and Sharp Dressed Man will probably be suggested a lot. The red car is a 1933 Ford Coupe that belongs to Billy Gibbons. Gibbons plays lead guitar, R.I.P. Dusty Hill the bass player, and the guy on drums in back in named, Frank Beard. Love those guys.
Another awesome band!! I love that u are diving into all of these dirty rock songs! 😆 They have a few more like this that u should check out! Tube snake boogie, Tush, and Legs are just a few good ones, but they have so many bangers!!! If u have ever seen the movie The Santa Clause with Tim Allen, u have heard this song! Lol
Blue Jeans Blues love it
ZZTop is ZZTop.. Texas Rock with some southern Blues and some Rhy'min...
I smiled when i saw this.....ZZ Top. Oh yeah , Baby. Much Love as Always Brother .
The "little old band from Texas" performed together with the same 3 original members from the mid 60s until a couple of years ago when Dusty Hill, the bass player, passed away. The one member of the band without a beard is the drummer, whose name is Frank Beard. Great reaction! Check out La Grange and Waitin For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago.
Yes, this is rock. There are several ZZ Top videos that feature the same car, and hot girls. They were pretty big on Mtv in the 80’s, but they were a staple on rock radio all through the 70’s.
Southern Blues Rock from Texas. Legends.
Legs is my favorite ZZ Top video. Any song you pick is going to be fire. Got to see them in the late 80's and it was an awesome show!
Gotta hear TUSH!!!!
I remember being 6 yrs old, and my Dad (fixes up muscle cars) would play this tape in non stop in the 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger, Hornet Yellow with black racing stripes as we ripped down the road..... Ahhhh the memories. I'm really missing those days now.
Same!! Me tooo... But da was working on a Plymouth Satellite!!!
@@fixitupchappie1242 AW YEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUHHHHH!!!!!!!! 👍
@@fixitupchappie1242 You ever drag raced?? I miss that, watching Dad, (pissst... every once in a while I got to ride shot gun...🤪) Good times......
That little ol trio from Texas… ZZ TOP has been playing their version of Texas Rock and Blues since 1969. Reverend Billy Gibbons (guitar), Dusty Hill (bass) RIP, and Frank Beard (drums) have turned out so many great songs. Please listen to some of their early music from the 1970’s. A couple of must listen songs are La Grange (popular song), Tush, Jesus Just Left Chicago/Waitin For the Bus, Tube Snake Boogie, Francine, Heard it on the X. My two favorites are Blue Jean Blues and Mexican Blackbird.
Need to checkout "Waiting for the Bus / Jesus left Chicago" excellent old school ZZtop, Jimi Henbrix met them when 18 year olds and ask them to open for him at next tour.
Thanks for doing this song
Billy Gibbons and Jeff Beck in the Texas saloon in Gruene Texas. Awesome!
Insanely good!!!
Just 3 guys!! Heard them 3 times back in college and enjoyed each one!! So did the crowd!!! MTV did a great video (back when that was what MTV was about) on Legs !!!
You mentioned recently you like music with straight up lyrics...that's ZZ Top! Three guys from Texas out to have a good time, give you a little taste of some rockin' blues, and just smile for a while.
These guys have a serious cataloug: La Grange, Jesus Just Left Chicago, I Thank You, Blue Jean Blues, Cheap Sunglasses, Mexican Blackbird, I'm Bad I'm Nationwide.....so many more.....you really can't go wrong with a ZZ Top song.
I grew up in LaGrange. Unfortunately LaGrange Kentucky, not Texas. So it holds a special spot in my heart.
Me too! Lagrange, Ky
Was the unfortunate part that y'all din't have a "Chicken Ranch" of your own?
@@Grynslvr2 we have Asian Massage parlors
Been there and Buckner for field trials at the Beagle grounds on 22.
All the services and none of the charm or lore. LOL @@johncheney950
Waitin' on the bus/Jesus just left Chicago is the one you should have reacted to first. Keep up the great channel.
Absolute banger track.
Hey Black Pegasus/Pebbles cool reaction. And other ZZTop you'll Love are...... Sharp Dressed Man, Legs, La Grange, Cheap Sunglasses and last but certainly not least Tush! These are the Must hears.
80's rock and maybe part of the late 70's grew up listening to ZZTOP
Texas Blues/Rock... Best little 3 piece band in Texas
ZZ was Texas R and B. Same as your man Stevie Ray V
I love these guys, ZZ Top are legends in my house ⚡️
Sharp Dressed Man
Rough Boy
Sleeping Bag are 🔥 as are all their songs
I am so glad I was blessed to grow up in the era of the best music (70's & 80's)
BP loves to try to figure out what hidden meanings are in songs, well he won't have to look hard with any 99% of ZZ Top songs :D
I can’t wait for you to discover George T. - one bourbon , one scotch , one beer
George thorogood is great but now I’m wanting to see you reaction to In The Mood - by Glen Miller !!!
This is rock, definitely! Ahhhh ... my teenage years... lol. Love me some ZZ Top!
This is top rock! One of the greatest groups ever!
You think this one is fire just wait until you hear LaGrange.
There are better songs than this one tho ❤
Agreed
The best 3 man band ever! Frank Beard, the drummer, is the only one without a beard, lmao. I saw them in concert and what a show!! Please do 'My Head's in Mississippi' next! It rocks too:)
Down here in Texas, ZZ Top is classic. "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs" are on my playlist, and when I roll through La Grange, as I did this weekend, it's windows down and volume up! Seeing them live was a never-to-be-forgotten experience. Love to have you react to more of their work.
These guys started out in the 1960s as a "Country Boogie" style band and towards 1972-3 they were coming into there own sound, Awesome 3 piece band - Billy Gibbons on lead guitar and vocals - Dusty Hill on base and vocals (passed 2 yrs ago) Frank Beard on drums and vocals (Never had a beard) always good vibes from these guys... The car is a 1933 Ford Coupe called "Eliminator" Billy commissioned a second car (a clone) of it to take on tour and left the original safe at home, Billy put one in the automotive hall of fame and supposedly still has the other one, which is an all steel car...
Man Bro you NEED to go down the ZZ Top rabbit hole, I’m telling you……….. 🔥🔥
Go back even further for the blues roots. Their album Deguello, every song is amazing. Thank You, She Loves My Automobile, Cheap Sunglasses….the list goes on.
Love ZZ TOP, they are awesome and one of the greatest band. They are a great southern rock/ roll band . They were great in the 70's and 80's. Love that old rock and roll
ZZ Top are awesome. That little ol' band from Texas. My favorites are Waitin for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago and My Head's in Mississippi.
ZZ top was just so much fun, their videos always added some humor. Love their music, oh the memories of growing up in that era! ❤
ZZ Top have an incredible musical library. They are very Blues based Rock and a lot of their music has lots of sexual innuendos. You could have a whole lot of fun going down the ZZ Top rabbit hole.
One of the best three piece band's, period!!!
Nothing like ZZTop in the 80s. I loved their album Afterburner. Hard to believe next year makes it 40 years since those days.
One of THE best pop/rock videos of ALL TIMES!
Soundtrack of my youth :) ZZ Top was around for a LONG time (seven albums prior to this one) before this album came out. This was their transition into the 80s ... the MTV era ... and it was flawless. This album was an absolute monster. Lots of big top 40 hits. They blew up into the mainstream and found a whole other generation of fans with this album (and GREAT videos). Call it blues rock / boogie rock ... there's a certain "groove" to their brand of rock - and you felt it.
I got to watch them live. Awesome
these guys are legends. i grew up with this kinda music. nobody did that baseline better than dusty hill RIP
I first saw ZZ Top in 1983,The Eliminator Tour.Fresking great show.Last saw in 2016.
I went to see them in concert last summer, they still ROCK, even after 50 years !!
This is Southern Rock. Very fun! Will be seeing them in Concert in September 2024.
