There is a reason he is being unapproachable towards certain people and he explained it in many videos. Think of it as a unannounced inspection. If you tell everybody what you're doing, nobody is going to act natural and you will get fake reactions. Some people will even try and sabotage it, by giving other people a heads-up. He doesn't have to answer them if he doesn't want to, and any person with common sense would just stop interacting, if it was so "brutally obvious". If people choose to escalate the situation and give him content to monetize, more power to him.

I think AP is different than other 1st amendment frauditors. AP retired from a career in photography. It was his job to do things like go out and get cover photos for things like news articles and magazines. Justifiable reasons to record in public. And his rights used to get infringed upon all the time. So naturally when he retired he chose this lane. But he doesn’t go out recording the police and government officials anymore. He’s got a travel channel now where he’s touring the country with his son and they document cities in every state and he gives a lot of promo to businesses in small towns. But of course if someone tries to stop him he’s gonna turn it into content. Which happens here. But most of his followers, including myself, would much rather have good interactions with citizens than bad. And he does. If you watch the majority of his videos since he started doing documentaries on towns, most of the interactions with people are positive. But there’s always one person in each documentary that acts like these people here. With all this said, I can’t stand the first amendment frauditors. They intentionally try to stir the pot to get bad interactions. But AP pushes for good interactions and promo’ing small businesses

One correction, Mr. Duck Most "auditors" don't record "in public places they are allowed to record in" MOST of them specifically target areas that are publicly accessible, but filming is legally restricted like government buildings. The Supreme Court and lower federal courts have upheld these restrictions as legal for 40+ years and not once ruled them otherwise. The auditors specifically go there to cause a confrontation so they can whine about "tyrants" as they are legally trespassed. Some push their luck until they are arrested - but, since it's a minor misdemeanor, most courts don't bother pressing charges. This allows the auditor to convince their audience that "the activity is legal and the cops are tyrants" and that they should send the auditor money "so he can help defending our rights"!

The worst most arrogant auditor channel is called ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ALL run by some jerk named Josh Abrams. Everywhere he goes he wants to get a public employee fired over the most petty reasons ever
@@ruse_d_news He also antagonizes and insults people to bait them into a confrontation only to pull out his weapon when things get too heated. He is absolutely a coward and in some states would actually be charged with homicide if he killed someone.
My problem with first amendment auditors is that they don't really serve a point. They just film to annoy people and sometimes even take it too far by trespassing or recording through windows of private businesses just to get attention. Now, does that mean this woman is in the right? Nope but I can say I'd probably get annoyed by some random guy filming for attention and to annoy people plus unlike security cameras, you have no idea what that guy is going to do with that footage.
If the "private" window can be seen from public , then there is no expectation of privacy. Not saying I agree with doing it, just pointing out its not illegal.
@daffyroth1861 it actually does. Being an asshole isn't illegal. And the 1st amendment is the right to free speech (among other things), so ya.. it kinda DOES give you the right to be an asshole
Those are called frauditors, auditors don’t make themselves the problems and they find actually faults in business, without making it known that they even have a camera.
What this guy did would've been illegal in Germany, taking and publicing portrait videos or pictures (which he clearly did) without the consent of the person filmed is illegal.
There's a guy in my city who just records in public places and says stupid shit like "but it's legal" when somebody *kindly asks* not to be recorded. I hope I never bump into him.

And the saddest part is if you go to the original video, almost all the comments are praising the cameraman for acting like this.

That’s the reason why 1st Amendment auditors exist in the first place. To teach people that your discomfort doesn’t mean you can or should escalate a situation.
Also, if they feel so uncomfortable about being filmed, they should go inside or leave or go somewhere that they won’t be filmed. Side note- they are being filmed in public almost 24/7 and especially inside stores/businesses.
@@_t_f_Yes, we know how the first amendment works, thank you tough guy. Just because you have the right to be an ass doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to call you out for it. There is a difference between CCTV recording and some random insane dude pointing a camera in your face for no reason.
@@_t_f_ The reason why 1st Amendment auditors exist is so that they hope to be able sue the government for violating their rights. They are not providing a public service. They're out there just hoping someone gives them validation. These same people are some of the most obstructionist, belligerent human beings I've ever seen , and take pride in that fact. They're the Chevy Chases of civil rights. Well, she did not say "battery", one of August's more amusing errors. She said "badgering", which is just about equally funny.
Kind of ironic how the person recording random strangers can be more of a “Karen” than the people being recorded.
He's the ONLY Karen in the video
Exactly! To be honest, I'm more on the Karen's side than the guy recording's side. Unlike most Karens, she realised she was wrong and just took the l and went out of the situation. Meanwhile, this guy goes out of his way to continue the conflict even after she learnt the thing, insulting her just because she's "not educated." Obviously the Karen and her husband seem a bit backwards but that is a hell of a lot better than this guy being one of the biggest hypocrites of all time.
No he’s not lol.
You could not be more wrong. The Karen's are the ones who played right in to his plan by being nosy bitches!
@@manxeater7 how?
I’m so glad you’ve reviewed this footage with such intelligent takes. When this crap first came out, people seemed to easily side with the cameraman and write the woman and her husband off as “entirely in the wrong.” When in reality the cameraman is a loitering FAA piece of shit who deliberately seeks to make people feel uncomfortable for profit. This movement doesn’t advocate for or achieve anything. They’re a bunch of dumbasses who thrive off menacing others and harassing police with frivolous lawsuits.
LMAOOOO
They walk up the camera goof ball, and he films the towns and government buildings to put out the public, filming the property and getting b roll isn’t loitering 🤣 and you must be a boot licker lol cause of cops and government officials don’t know the first amendment imagine what laws and rights they are breaking everyday, and random citizens can call the cops on someone and get them hurt cause they don’t know the laws

Loudly announcing that they “do not have your permission to use your likeness for personal, financial, or commercial gain” would be a good one too
He says he’s there to film everything he sees and wants, yet his actual video have all the b roll where there’s no people, out of his videos. His whole purpose it to put people on the internet who don’t want to be filmed and put on the internet
Wrong he actually puts b roll, shows the flag, shows people who don’t care, shows fans, shows cops who drive by thinking they got called, he films street performers, he films people who welcome him in to his store , and obviously puts all the people who put themselves in the camera
The difference between security cameras constantly filming and people filming with their own phone/cameras is the fact that the stores aren’t posting their footage online for people’s entertainment.
I feel super uncomfortable when someone is recording in public and I have to walk in the camera’s view because people are brutal these days. They won’t let anything slip by and will attack just because someone doesn’t fit their wants/needs.

The bald guy was the most respectful of them all fr fr
One correction, Mr. Duck
Most "auditors" don't record "in public places they are allowed to record in"
MOST of them specifically target areas that are publicly accessible, but filming is legally restricted like government buildings.
I am so afraid of coming across someone like this. Like I don't like being recorded I don't want my face out there on the internet. But the idea that one day I could come across someone recording me and if I ask them politely to stop they just turn into a huge karen it scares me a lot. I've had kids take photos of me and filming me already like.. teens filming me because they think I'm weird and that makes me highly uncomfortable. These kinda things make me never wanna go outside. Legally I mean sure you can film anyone but like.. You can also legally like.. scream at someone but that doesn't mean you have to or you shouldn't stop when they ask you to stop. Not everything is about legality, sometimes it's just a bit of respect for other people's wishes...
Then don't talk to them. You'll be a blip on the screen instead of the main attraction.
@@ruse_d_news That's what I do but just scared of when they're all up in my face or something or filming me specifically on purpose like I said has happened before. But yeah not talking to them and moving on is the right move I agree in most situations.
Look up the legal term misappropriation of likeness. You have the right to control how your image is used, particularly when it is being used in a for-profit manner.
I have an idea. If it's something that scares you, play copyrighted music. If it gets posted, the audio can't be played.
Don’t walk up to the camera or just move along lmaoooo
I completely agree with you. There are a lot of 1st amendment auditors but these idiots aren't them. They go out of their way to annoy everyday people because they don't have the balls to go after the police directly. They are the Karens of the 1st amendment community.

The camera pan towards the husband is absolute meme material 😂
She's right about him being sued, she just named the wrong charge. She essentially meant harassment, but he should be held civilly liable for profiting off of their likeness without consent. She didn't really start Karening until the cop showed up.
A perfect example of the only way this is solved is if a meteor strikes the planet at the exact spot all of these people are standing. Really feel sorry for the officer having to babysit grown adults while people are out commiting real crimes and hurting people.
Depending on the situation, they could be on private property. It looks like a strip mall, which could be a private property. They get around the security camera issue by posting notices.
